Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

At least no wolves were aerial-gunned in the making of this interview ...

Come on, did anyone really expect her to pardon every turkey on that turkey farm? The reality is, most of us will eat turkey on thanksgiving, and now we know exactly how it will be slaughtered. It was funny that the camera man didn't choose a better spot for the interview, or that the eager worker in the background couldn't wait for the interview to finish before doing his job.

Can anyone please tell me why she's still in the news? Why is she still relevant?

I wish she would have helped out that small business a little more and done some turkey slaughtering of her own! That would've really gotten you yella-belly libbies a squacking!!

Personally.., I like to shoot mine.

This story is stupid. How do you think that people get turkeys for Thanksgiving? They just suddenly appear at the dinner table cooked with all the stuffing.

The Liberal Media will do anything to try to embarras Governor Palin.

Obama mucked up his first news conference but no one called him on it.

    This story is a non-issue!

It's a TURKEY !! It needs to be dead for you to eat it. How weird can this get. Most people do not have turkeys as pets (if they do, that's their business) - Most people EAT TURKEY !!

Can her political career end as soon as possible please? She butchers the english language and knows nothing about domestic issues or foreign policy. The image she provides for Americans is worse than Bush could ever give to this country.

Are you folks at CNN so scared of Sarah that you have to take every opportunity to attempt to degrade her. It's a TURKEY FARM!!! What do you expect to be going on at a TURKEY FARM right before Thanksgiving? Everyone who is raising a stink about this must be vegans... or do you only buy free range suicidal turkeys for your holiday meal? Sarah Palin is an Alaskan. We hunt, we fish, we love animals... they're tasty.

Isn't that the point? She pardoned a turkey and what happened behind her is what happens to billions of animals. Turkey farm, a week before Thanksgiving and there are turkeys being killed? Only Sarah Palin would let this happen!!!! CNN you guys are a big joke with your ticker.

I know turkeys are killed for Thanksgiving dinner, but that was rediculous!
I cannot stand to hear her voice anymore. She, on the other hand, loves nothing more! She did not take a breath!

What the Left never got about Gov. Palin, is that Alaska is culturally different from much, not all, of America. There is a different culture there. Guess what? They don't care if you don't like the way they speak, and they don't care if a turkey is getting slaughtered right next to them. I loved having Palin around, and I'd love to have her back. You culturally insensitive bigots just don't get it and the rest of us don't really care that you don't.

This message is for "Clint." I think that this is the "Clint" that I personally know. If so, how did this become a partisan news story? This is not a Democratic or Republican thing. This may be a weak news story, but this whole thing of turning every story that you don't like into a partisan issue is ridiculous. It's also probably part of the liberal media bias that you keep going on about. CNN had the most comprehensive and fair election coverage on the planet, bottom line, but they were always in Obama's corner, I suppose. Go back to watching Faux News if you want real bias.

Wow, you liberals on here are really hysterical – just listen to yourselves. Do yourselves a favor and take a Xanax. For a group of people who like to harp on the fact that she wasn't elected and we should all just forget about her, you certainly like to bring her up at every opportunity. I love how all the "tolerant" folks on the left lash out anyone who disagrees with them. Get a grip!

There are a lot of people on this blog that just don't seem to get it!! Its not the fact that "us liberals" or "those of us who voted for Obama" are surprised that Turkeys get slaughtered.

I think that is where you conservatives seem to just completely miss the point. Goes right over your heads. The issue here is that Sarah Palin can not seem to do ANYTHING right!!! And if you think this was a great idea to give an interview of her nonsensical babbling while they slaughter turkies in the background your a fool. Most people who even tuned in to watch didn't even know Sarah was babbling nonsensically because they were only aware of ONE THING... the beheading of turkies in the background.

Forget the turkey, her hair sure took a hit now that she's no longer having thousands spent on it.

LiberalsHateAmerica, the stock market "tanked" weeks BEFORE the election; PEOTUS Obama had nothing to do with it. Take your misplaced finger pointing and look at the Republicans. So, you mean to tell me that you would have rather have this person as your VP than the intelligent duo we elected? If you do, shame on you.

I dislike Palin like so many others, but I have no problem with this.

It is a bad photo to look at.. but most Americans eat meat, and love turkey. A Vegetarian Palin supporter would probably not be too happy though!

The poor lady just can't win. Jesus Christ, it's a turkey farm, and she went there to PARDON a turkey, not kill one. Why is this news? Seriously, I feel bad for her, she's just doing a yearly tradition and suddenly it's news because they kill a turkey on a turkey farm.

The person you should be blaming is the cameraman who didn't say "Ma'am, you might want to turn around!"
