Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.
An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

Palin is the most stupid person! How could she not see what was taking place in the background! How in the world did she become
Governor! Please, keep her out of the news!!

Even if the backdrop wasn't impossibly ironic given the reason for her visit, does there exist a worse background image for any sort of interview than turkeys being slaughtered? Maybe someone clubbing baby seals?

    Hysterically inappropriate!

I wonder how many Thanksgiving dinners "animal killer" Palin has ruined?

Once again, Sarah Palin shows how iliterate she is: "It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview.

Wow, can she just talk like she has some sense?

We were almost gobbled by this turkey. I'm so glad she didn't win. The White House would have been the House of Horrors.

Whew America, we dodged that bullet.

The reason this is news is it illustrates Governor Palin's basic lack of Politics. Image is so very important in Politics and the fact that she would stand with her back towards a slaughterhouse shows that she lacks that subtle little voice that nags at talented Politicians.

Also, the slaughter of Turkeys is disgusting and making light of the fact that they die for us to have a snack is so insensitive and disturbing.

She still hasn't learned her lesson. The more she talks – the more we listen – the more we can't stand her. I don't take her seriously anymore. No way is she ever going to be MY President.

All I can say is WOW.

And to LiberalsHateAmerica: Get off it, the market is not Obama's fault, it's been in the crapper for a long time now.

i've got to the point of not even reading anything as to Palin...but this was irresistable. She is clueless. she needs to learn how to speak properly and at least TRY to sound educated.

OK, the turkey slaughter is disgusting, but I'm still amazed that I can't quite decipher what she saying. Wow! She really does talk like this all of the time, and she winked again! Public officials shouldn't wink (especially when an animal is getting slaughtered right behind them).

    Matt, very funny and true!

It is my understanding she was advised where this interview would take place and had no issue with the scene behind her.
I, for one, am glad Mark Begich won the Senate seat vacated by Ted Stevens or we would have to continue with the Sarah Palin saga. Note to the media:
Please, Please, Please, leave her alone to handle Alaska so we don't have to listen or see her any more.

HAHAHAHAHA... Leave it to a woman to have the stones to do an interview in front of a live Turkey dinner in the making... Stick it to PETA Palin!

Stop stop stop with the Palin stories! Especially non-stories....

That being said – She certainly can mangle the English language!!! Yikes!!!

If that woman, Palin, had a brain she would be more dangerous than she is now. Consider what she said.

"I AM ALWAYS IN CHARGE OF THE TURKEY"

Then you see what happened to the Turkey behind her. With her as a leader, we would not need enemies. Sure glad she worked to get Obama elected.

Who cares?! Why has this woman done to elicit such hatred and hostility from so many people, especially the press? Can you all relax now, you got your way, McCain/Plain lost. Since the electin, the stock market has continued to crash, but Obama is still going to be our saviour, so just get over Palin already.

Palin turkeying around ? How appropriate ? Can she do or say anything that doesnt make her look and osund like a turkey or a bimbo ? This idiotic bimbo definition needs to go back to first grade and start schooling all over again. And to think she could have become the VP...shudders.... But the late night comedy could have a bounty of material for their shows !

Clint I'm pretty sure most of us know exactly how our food gets to the grocery stores. The point of the story is the irony of it. So you can shut up and grow up.
