Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.
An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

I love listening to the liberal Dems bash Palin. Ooohh, she could have been our next VP.....guess what? You got Biden. Remember him? He's the guy that thinks FDR got on the TV in 1929 during the stock market crash. You know, the guy that thinks FDR was Pres in 1929 and we had TVs then as well. Oh yeh, and he's the guy that got forced down in his helicopter by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Come to find out, it was a snowstorm (even John Kerry corrected him on that). Did see him a whole lot during the last few weeks of the election. Why? Because Obama figured out he was a walking, talking, moron. Now what do we have? A novice for Pres that wants to raise taxes on major investors and businesses so he can destroy what's left of our economy and a moron that is a heartbeat away from taking over his job. Confidence abounds........

Why don't you go and do something useful with your ablities, Governor...What a waste of time and resources...Probably using campaign funds and taxpayer money for your little turkey trip.

Give the lady a break already....she's no longer even part of the national conversation...what is the media's obsession with her...Get over her people and worry about the millions of jobs being lost and the state of our economy...I'm sick of the media wasting our time with useless, pointless stories that have no relevance to our nation's future.

    GET A LIFE!

You are dumbfounded that people are angry and displeased with this woman. She is a joke. Sarah Palin is a monster created by the RNC and they are paying for it. We as Americans should speak out much more against this type of "no nothing" politics. I commend people for voicing their opinion on the matter and on Nov. 4th the people spoke and said "we will not stand for it anymore.

I'm tired of Sarah Palin. Forget about her and move on. I'm just so relieved that we no longer have to fear her becoming president, at least for 4 or perhaps 8 years! Move on to the real news, PLEASE!

I'd like to compliment CNN for quoting Ms. Palin with the exact terminology that rolls off her tongue.

I know why this is done – and as a journalist I know how many times we smooth certain sections of an interview to make it balance between conversational and something a reader can follow.

In her case, however, it needs to be written exactly as she speaks it. Thanks for that. It's great strategery.

It isn't the point that most people eat turkey, yes we get it, they have to be slaughtered to get to the store and ultimately to the consumer. The point is how many politicians or even people in general have done interviews with this going on in the background?
This is an extreme example but do you think Bush would ever do an interview while American flag draped coffins are being unloaded from a military plane behind him?
The point is that the women is a dolt.

It does not surprise me that she was ignoring the turkey being slaughtered behind her. What do you expect? This woman kills animals for sport and fun.

She says she's in charge of her Thanksgiving dinner and that's why she is at that business. More than likely, the turkey being killed behind her is probably the turkey she intends to take home and cook. It would have been better to pardon the turkey at an official ceremony, not at the excution site.

WELCOME TO THE OBAMA SHOW –

DIDN'T ANYONE TELL YOU THAT ALL CAPS ON THE INTERNET MEANS YOU ARE SCREAMING???

And if you know this you really need to calm down and get some medical attention. You're obsessive screaming at everyone is a bit nuts.

I used to think that she was putting on an act, pretending to be dumb. Nobody could really be that stupid? But now I'm sure, Palin really is clueless.

Where do people think food comes from? The meat looks good in the package at the supermarket..God forbid something should happen; we would all be killing turkeys, cows, sheep etc. Time for a dose of reality, never mind the superficial bickering about Sarah Palin.

After all the hate and vile that spewed out of her mouth, she deserves everything she gets. All this dim witted, light weight did was try and divide the country. She is what is wrong with this country and politicians. She bought into the Rove line of thinking hook, line and sinker! She gets attention because she is a freak show!

For those of you that didn't; let me share another secret with you...there is no such thing as Santa Clause. What a bunch of Turkeys!
