Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.
An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

Anyone made uncomfortable by seeing a turkey being prepared for market had better be a vegan or get in line for the major hypocrite award.
Gov. Palin deals with the reality of life and speaks the truth as she sees it. That makes the typical urban elitist who's only knowledge of the world is what is spoon fed to them by their fellow media dweebs or plastic wrapped for them in the supermarket very uneasy. Rather than deal with the logic of what she says, they simply trash talk her.

Unfortunate event? Are you serious. It's a turkey. This is why I rarely pay attention to the US mainstream media.

You don't have to worry about Palin running for office in 2012. We have bigger fish to fry. Jeb Bush is their secret weapon. Why do you think he has been so quiet? Democrats watch you back.

Instead of buying Sarah Palin clothes, the RNC would have made a better investment by buying her some common sense.

What politician does this? Obama was going to win regardless, but it was Sarah Palin and this type of judgement that put the final nail in McCain's presidential bid coffin.

Ahhh so this is where liberals with no audiance congregate to voice their small minded opinions. I would normally be annoyed, but the more I think about it, this is where you belong. Thank god you're all too unmotivated with your ideas to actually do something about it (besides posting moronic statements on message boards where you know that 95% of the people who will read them are morons just like yourself). Btw, to all the Palin haters, I would like for one of you to be able to respond to me and be able to say that in their lifetime they have accomplished as much as Sarah Palin. Anyone?? Anyone? She's an idiot though, right?

The more they focus on Palin, the less they have to focus on Obama's 'about face' on the "change we need front".

    So many Clinton retreads...

This could happen to anyone really...but it's still amusing (and only for the blatant irony of the situation).

    To LiberalsHateAmerica,

An economic genius I see. Nevermind GM or Citigroup. It's Obama's fault the market's tanking. It's simple minded people who get their news and information from Rush and Fox news who spout to this garbage.

And as far as Liberals hating America:

Why do conservatives complain about the the peace and prosperity of the Clinton years?

Why do conservative relish in a needless war that has killed 4100 and wounded 35,000 Americans?

Why do conservatives approve of a president who has presided over economic disaster?

Why are conservatives content with having bin Laden still free after 9/11?

And my last question is why do conservatives hate America?

The people who criticize the slaughtering of Turkeys are pathetic. People eat meat every day. Where do you think the meat comes from. I worked at a hog slaughtering plant for seven years and watched 11,000 hogs get dismatled every day. The American people better get in touch with reality. The economy is rapidly deteriorating to levels not seen since the Great Depression. The U.S. military is nearly broken. The danger to America's security from terrorists and foreign powers are greater today than anytime since WWII. Where is our President? Why isn't the press paying more attention to these issues? This story is a waste of time!!!

    Well said!

    @ "CNN :)"

If you think that a Palin article getting the most posts, 90%+ of which are making fun of her, indicates that she's not "done" then there simply is no help for you. She has ZERO chance of getting elected in 2012. Learn the difference between fame and infamy.

Oh Pul-leeze ... can't CNN let go of the Saranator for just awhile? Give us (and her) a break! Pardoning a turkey is cute, but next week, we're eating them by the millions. So their deaths are neither tragic nor worthy of news coverage. So stop it already, willya?

I think the term for this particular interview backdrop is "unfortunate".

The holidays are approaching, I'm willing to let bygones be bygones and stop watching, commenting on or even noticing Sarah Palin...as long as she does her part and stops hogging my TV screen.
