Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

There she was.. blabing on and on...She is so self obsorbed, she didn't even notice the turkey in the background. Can you imagine how loud that bird must have swaked!!

It's unbelievable that so many people thought she was ready for the presidency.

I'll say it again, and maybe this time you'll include it. Sarah Palin is the Tonya Harding of the 2008 Political Olympics.

I can honestly say... I'm ashamed of the comments made by these people who think that this forum is for trashing people no matter who it is. I can only imagine the IQ of 98 per cent of them.

Being a journalism major and having experience dealing with state and local media at least (I don't count national media – total disaster), you'd think she could avoid this rather spectacular gaffe!

I have no idea why this even get this much coverage whlie there are other serious issues facing this country and the world. I am from Africa and this is not big news for me we used to kill goats, sheeps, chickens, cows and oxen during holidays. Turkeys are not fruits that we harvest form trees come on people you should know how meat gets on the table.

C'mon Palin Bashers, how do you think that tasty turkey gets to your Thanksgiving table. It just proves how really lucky that turkey was to be pardoned by her. At least it's not gonna be eaten by a bunch of hypocrites, like the ones that wrote in to bash her – GET OVER IT !

  15. great story

A lot can change in two and a half weeks...

The GOP can like her if they want but she's just not qualified for any public office. She's uneducated, uninformed, frivolous, corrupt and is not a team player. All beauty pageant poise and no substance. Is she deaf? She ignored the murderous chants at her rallies and she pretends to not hear the cries of the unlucky turkey.

I don't know which is worse...seeing a turkey die, or having to listen to Sarah Palin talk.

If Sarah Palin was elected VP it would've been the same thing as electing for Paris Hilton. Glad that didn't happen.

isn't it about time to get Gov Palin OUT of the national news? She is past being newsworthy for every little thing she does. and this was a real turkey of a story anyway. We should get to the real business of what's going on like, how in the heck is this "Joe the Plumber" guy getting a 1/2 million dollar book deal and what did he do to deserve it??

the fact that the turkey got killed on camera behind her is NOt the point idiots!

it is the fact, much like her knowledge of Africa being a "country and not a continent" she is unaware of reality even when it occurs right beside her!

like most of the radical religious right they do not understand, or WANT, to understand the baisics of reality that is why they blissfully attack science even as science works to save their lives.. idiots one and all

This just shows what a media hound she is, she can't stand to not be in the news LMAO

Ask any Alaskan, Sarah never used to dress like that when she was out and about before in AK, now she's got to get all 'dressed up'. She's changed a heck of a lot since the campaign, you betcha she has 😉

How did this ignorant woman become governor? Admittedly, most people I've know who went to Alaska were 'lower 48' misfits who just didn't like the conformity and rules down here. Now though, I question their political judgement as well.
