Palin interview causes stir

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

An interview Gov. Sarah Palin did Thursday is causing a stir.

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.

But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.

Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.

"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."

"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

Turkeys like liberals think turkeys are more important than humans. And they obsess with a women (read: person) who is a realist and understands that humans eat fowl. I hope she is elected President of the United States someday. She doesn't live in fantasyland like liberals who insist on shooting the bird at every person who earns wealth instead of demanding it from someone else!

She is totally unaware of the concept of irony. Also.

You Libs are complete idiots....crawl back under the rock you live under.

She did the stupid turkey pardon that most politicials do and she did it where the turkey was going to be killed.... obviously there might be other turkeys being slaughtered at that place.

What her problem is, is that she was not cautious enough to make sure the reporter and crew (lefty libs probably as almost all media is) did not set her up, so that this would be in the shot. You can sure as heck bet they set it up intentionally and turned their camera so you would se this over her shoulder. They did it so you fools would have somethign to clamor about.

Besides...are all you libs eating Tofu next Thursday.... I think not fools....and the turkey you wil be eating was slaughtered at some point.

Someone please tell her to give back the money for the bridge to nowhere, and to pay back the tax payers of Alaska for her kids travel expense.

And then tell her to go away.

    Thanks you

So sadly typical: an utter lack of regard for, and concern about, the welfare of a living creature. Whether one is a vegetarian or animal lover, this display is atrocious, and bespeaks a cold cruelty that is appalling.

    Good riddance to her already.

Obviously the schooling she had did not teach her proper English sentence structure. I hope she stays in Alaska and leaves the "real Americans" alone.

Who cares if she kills a turkey they all get killed and put on our tables one way or the other. I like Palin at least she is REAL....I think she would be a breath of fresh air to all the political BS in Washington. I would never vote for a man with the name obama.....and i do not trust him...he came from a "church" that spoke hate not the love of Christ and you do not attend a church for 20+ years and it not affect how you live your life. I do not care if the man is purple or orange but their are too many questions about him. If he takes office and does not place his hand on the BIBLE they should throw him out!!!! Palin is real and I would vote for her ANY DAY...Lock up your guns people because you are gonna need them./...the Dems' are looking to take them all away!! Dumb ppl....guns don't kill ppl....the idiot behind the gun pulls the trigger.

I watched the video and the man did not grind or kill the turkey. It still had feathers on it and anyone that has lived on a farm knows that before grinding any farm animals with feathers, remove them first! If you watch closely, the turkey was still very much alive and moving it's wings. The man had to hold the wings at one point. This is like starting an urban legend. I tell people that send me that garbage, check your facts first before sending it out. Same here, the man did not kill the turkey in this clip. Get your facts straight.

I think Palin is an idiot too but come on people. The fact that this story is on the front page of CNN is absurd. If you're going to criticize her for this you better not be eating any turkey next Thursday.

You liberals really are idiots and the hate and disdain you show for people is ridiculous. You have more emotional attachment for animals than people. You're a joke. The really sad thing is that if the same thing happened to Hillary or Obama you would excuse it just like you did for Bill's womanizing in the White House. You know its true.

You said it Clint. She is gutsy enough to handle a Turkey slaugher. Obama would probably wince and walk away She lives in Alaska, not downtown Manhattan. Sarah, I hope you got a real good Turkey. When you cook it and serve it up to your family, enjoy the freedom you have. With the economy, some people may not have a Turkey this year!

Come on people where are the real stories? She is real. Not a Barbie doll. Get over it media!

It's amazing that all of these liberals come out of the woodwork and attack anyone they can when the press is finally starting to report that Obama is already failing. His staff has been at work for days trying to minimize expectations after realizing that most of the campaign promises were lies, and the more Obama fails, the more the Republicans will be blamed.

Reagan didn't blame Carter when he had to come in and fix the mess-he just fixed it.

Don't flatter yourself CNN. Palin knew what was going on behind her.
Remember she is not out to impress you and the rest of the media and lefties so go ahead and have your little fit. I'm sure you will all be enjoying your turkey dinner next week.

What's the big deal? She's standing in front of a business that is in operation. The fact that it's a turkey farm is not philosophically any different from an interview in front of a fast food line, or a vegetable packing plant. If it really bothers you to know that that is where your Thanksgiving turkey comes from, then you need to consider other options. I'm just surprised that the media chose to air the interview in the first place, since the only thing marginally interesting or newsworthy about it is the turkeys being slaughtered in the background. The only proper place for it is somewhere like, "America' s Funniest Home Videos."

  25. Ironical Man

Oh, the irony. You people who think we don't know where our T'giving turkeys come from are totally missing the point of this story. And yes, there are much more important stories going on right now. But don't we all need a little humor in our lives? There are many, many news stories to pick from right now – if you don't like this one, don't read it.
