A pro-Palin ad campaign hits the airwaves this week.
A pro-Palin ad campaign hits the airwaves this week.

(CNN) — Election Day was three weeks ago, but political ads praising former Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin are still hitting the airwaves.

The Our Country Deserves Better PAC has begun running spots in Alaska — two 60-second ads, and two 30-second versions — that pay tribute to Palin, with plans to expand the ad buy to the rest of the country sometime this week.

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner," chief strategist Sal Russo said in a statement. "I worked with President Ronald Reagan since his first days in the California Governor’s Office, and I can tell you that I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin."

The 60-second Thanksgiving-themed spot — which comes days after footage of a Palin interview on a turkey farm hit the airwaves — also points to the Alaska governor's fondness for moose chili as a turkey alternative.

The PAC — which sponsored the "Stop Obama Now" bus tour during the campaign season — said it plans to spend at least $50,000 airing the ads in Alaska. It has not yet released details of the ad buy on national broadcast and cable networks.

LBJ -

Have you ever considered that there are more ways to give to charity than just throwing your money at it? I give probably less than $500 dollars per year to charities, that's true, but I spend a lot of time actually doing something with my time rather than just complaining about some random problem and thinking money is going to change anything.

As for Sarah Palin, isn't she back in Alaska, and no one cares to see this crap on television?

JIM...TX   November 24th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

OOPS…2012 :)

Carmen   November 24th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Are you kidding me!!!!! One of the promises of Nov 4th in not having to be subjected to further political ads afterwards. This should be a crime. This ad better not play in my state.

Reid   November 24th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

I wished Sarah Palin would just go away — forever!

Mark in VA   November 24th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

I thought this was going to be an article in the Offbeat section. But this is not funny, it is just sick and sad.

It is only a matter of time before the parties realign based on intelligence. And the bad news is stupid people out number and out breed the rest of us.

Just like the movie Idiocracy it is funny till you realize it is true.

Joseph Claghorn   November 24th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Looks like the 2012 campaign is already in full swing. Can we at least let the democrats fix our economy before we seriously entertain the idea of electing another imbecile as president as we did in 2000?

PL   November 24th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

Thank God and Grayhound that lady is back in Alaska. It should be against the law for her to ever visit the lower 48.

mdg   November 24th, 2008 2:52 pm ET

oh no not again I had to buy a new remote I wore the off and on button out put her ads on fox only

Obi-Wan   November 24th, 2008 2:51 pm ET

I said thanks but no thanks when I voted on November 4!

I love how Palin got beat by a community organizer! haha!

JIM...TX   November 24th, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Us on the left don't hate Palin as all of the rightwing nutters say. In fact we LOVE her! She single handedly GAVE the election to the Dems:) So you Repub's keep toughting her as your SAVIOR in 2112 an us Dems will keep on LOVIN IT!!!

BC   November 24th, 2008 2:51 pm ET

The only good from these ads…$$ continues to go into the economy…
Oh…and I guess that the ads will continue to remind us what a buffoon Palin is!

Palin what books do you read? Gosh dang it, another gotcha question.   November 24th, 2008 2:51 pm ET

Big oil is behind these ads. Big oil is the reason McCain picked her without vetting. McCain spent alot of time visiting the oil rigs. Think he just happened to pick her out of the blue? Don't be fooled. Palin is not going away. The bigwigs are going to ram her down our throats until we accept her.

Josh Maloney, Oakland, CA   November 24th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Give it up already ! This proves that some people have zero clue that Sarah Palin is polarizing, self-absorbed and has no one to blame but herself for her gaffes.

James Quinn   November 24th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Well to be honest we can't blame Sara for this one. It's some fringe group that is setting this up. However I do take exception to their description of Ms Palin's motivational techniques. I did not see all her speeches but the ones I did see were filled with fear and loathing. Attacks and talk of real vs not real America. Not much seemed out of bounds for this woman or her handlers. Granted I might have missed something and I hope I did because I don't want anymore of that in a government of the people and for the people. Why? For it does not say much about we the people if that is what we choose.

Ben Shooner   November 24th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Why do we need to hear about this woman anymore? Really though, she is the example of how the Republican party must NOT look like if it ever to regain legitimacy. The only viable Republican candidate in 2012 will be Ron Paul-and if he is to become the face of a new conservative movement: One based on sound money, personal liberty, non-interventionalist foreign policy, and an adherence to the Constitution-then the part will have to sever all ties with those of Palin's ilk (read: folksy, jingoist, theocratic, social conservatives).

sky   November 24th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

who?

Ursula   November 24th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

They sure aren't very educated up there in Alaska! Let the whackjob run again! I looked forward to laughing at her every day and now I have to wait 4 more years for more laughter! It looks like they are keeping that nut in the news…. the democrats will win easily with her around!

wink!

stop_palin   November 24th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

With any luck, this PAC will continue to throw all its money away on useless crap, and by the next election, they'll have no cash left with which to spew their lies. Shill, baby, shill!

David in Philly   November 24th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Wow! $50,0000.00 going to adds that do nothing! Typical GOP, right wing!

Do you realize how far that $50,000.00 would go toward housing the homeless, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor?

Or, it could buy 3 round trips in a private GM jet — DC from Detroit.

Waste of money, no matter who you are or how you look at it.

Rick Kastle   November 24th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Sad. She was nothing more than a last minute chess move by the GOP to make them appear equally "forward thinking" and as time went by she became the albatross hung round an aged war hero's neck. For a minute, it looked like there was a chance to beat Obama, and then…she opened her mouth. Moronathon. Now the nutjobs, rather than feeding the homeless at Thanksgiving, buying jackets for needy children as winter comes in, or even donating to the 2012 GOP campaign coffers, have wasted their money and hence our time on a completely useless commercial with no real point. Bravo, a true example of the cliche of wasteful americans.

Bob Glavine   November 24th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Palin is the gift that keeps on giving.

How stupid can you be to support her?

John S   November 24th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

These people are joking right. The biggest Airhead in America and these fools think this woman was qualified to be a vice president. Now I know that a lot of Americans are uneducated, but this is a little too much. Thank God I am not or ever will be that stupid. i know a lot of AMericans. We have been friends for years and I can just imagine their reaction to this little stun. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. What a farce.

Benjamin Bunch   November 24th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

As an Obama supporter I'd like to chime in….THANK YOU SARAH PALIN! I look forward to thanking you again in 2012.

Lynne   November 24th, 2008 2:48 pm ET

There should be a ban on any type of campaigning until 2010! Enough already! We're still trying to recoup from a year and a half of campaigning. Not only are they trying to keep Sarah Palin in the news, but I've seen more of Huckabee within the past week than I've seen of him in the past 5 years. Republicans– please just chill on trying to get into the White House! It's not even vacant yet and the new residents haven't even hung up curtains. Everybody Wang Chung Tonight!

frank   November 24th, 2008 2:48 pm ET

CMG   November 24th, 2008 2:47 pm ET

I would also like to thank Sarah – only I want to thank her for returning to Alaska. I just ask that she remain there.

Grant   November 24th, 2008 2:47 pm ET

Have to agree that it is insulting to Reagan to be compared with Palin. Reagan spoke to America's hopes and had a vision. Palin spoke to our fears and negativity. Obama is more like Reagan than Palin could ever dream to be.

Debbie   November 24th, 2008 2:47 pm ET

Make it stop!!!!!!!!!! Make her go awaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!! Can't these right-wingers get it thru their heads: Sarah Palin was rejected by the vast majority of Americans – including a whole lot of reasonable minded Republicans!!

John   November 24th, 2008 2:47 pm ET

Sara Palin when is she going to go away Obama is not in yet but she still is running

Paul I   November 24th, 2008 2:47 pm ET

Let's give credit where credit is due….. Tina Fey was the one who was positive and uplifting!

Eric Clar   November 24th, 2008 2:46 pm ET

Thank you, Sara! If you run, it's a shoe-in for the dems in '12! The party is basically down to the conservative church who wants to run the country based on religious values. Sara can rally the base but that's down to under 40% of the population and is dwindling at that.

Brian   November 24th, 2008 2:46 pm ET

Sarah Palin used "Joe the Plumber".

John the McCain used Sarah Palin.

Joe the Lieberman used John the McCain.

Those Republicans… :D

S   November 24th, 2008 2:46 pm ET

This is great news. Palin will derail any chance the GOP have in 2012. Go Sarah Go! Keep up the good work.

Tweet   November 24th, 2008 2:46 pm ET

"In a positive and uplifting manner"??? Are you kidding me? Both John McCain and Barack Obama TOGETHER didn't spew such vile hatred, racism and egotistical judgmentalism as this Wicked Witch of the West (East, South and North). She is a SHAMEFUL DISGRACE to women, conservatives and christians around the world. GAG.

FL for Obama   November 24th, 2008 2:46 pm ET

I believe that it is time for a strong woman to be the POTUS. But not this one. One will emerge…soon, I think…who will inspire and lead us – not incite us with lies and hatred. Those of you who support Palin are certainly free to do so (in this great land of ours), but be aware that you also support and agree with all of her "values." Where's the pregnant daughter these days and the drop-out father? Maybe if she didn't grab the spotlight so much, she could have been a better parent. Priorities…one of the major problems with our country right now. I remember how we all "loved" each other after 09/11…where did all that good-will go? It has been replaced with racism, bigotry, hatred, and greed. We deserve what we get! Let's pray that PE Obama will lead us on the right path.

MommaSchell   November 24th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

She's such a non-issue. CNN, please stop spending time reporting on this political bimbo and please report the news that matters – like economic depression.

Don in Chandler AZ   November 24th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

It's like a train wreck. We don't want to watch, but we just can't help ourselves. Palin in 2012 will be the best thing that could happen for the Democratic Party. You betcha.

Nomoredivisiveness   November 24th, 2008 2:45 pm ET

Just when you think America is pulling itself out of the dumps you have a bunch of backward thinking people trying to drag the country back into a rat hole by promoting someone who ran a dirty campaign, by telling lies, inciting riotous behavior at rallys, being divisive, & by whatever means necessary, promoted racism, evilness & terroism. One has to ask the questions: What do they hope to gain by running such an ad & what is their motive? Also, is this the segment of American people that Palin, says "are the real Americans?" How sad! Supporters of this ad needs to go read some books, & educate themselves on tolerance what qualifications are necessary for a leader to run this country. Running wolves down and shooting them from a helicopter is not one of the qualification, neither is slaughtering a moose, which she seems to be good at and thoroughly enjoys.

Devon Spencer   November 24th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

As a Democrat, I am hoping she runs in 2012. That will guarantee we'll re-elect Obama and the Democrats.

Ryan   November 24th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

"…by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner…"
Unbelievable. Uh, we didn't fall for it the first time. Why would we now?

Richard   November 24th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner"

Since when are lies, smears and innuendos "positive and uplifting" to respectable people?

Brian   November 24th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

Thank you, Sarah Palin for losing the election like you were supposed to! :D

Finally, our country will CHANGE in the right direction.

"Common Sense Conservative Principles'?????
Republican Philosophy: If you say ANYTHING enough times, you yourself might begin to believe it as truth.

I CHALLENGE Sarah Palin to appear on 'Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader!!!'

Dixon   November 24th, 2008 2:44 pm ET

I am a life long Democrat and very happy how the election turned out. However, I do not have anything bad to say about Governor Palin. She seems like a great person to know. Very likable, but not so much knowledge when it comes to the world issues. I believe she is not the best option for our country. I believe the Republicans put her out there for all the wrong reasons. Just to draw Hilary supporters to the ticket. They did a terrible job of presenting her and most of all she just isn't ready.
She was there to draw the Hillary voters to their ticket. It some cases I believe that worked. When she finished speaking at an event the audience walked out. Many times McCain was still in line to speak. I don’t believe there was support for her as VP. It is the same old us vs them thing we have. Win at all cost.

Jim in San Jose   November 24th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

NBC should be so thankful for Sarah Palin. SNL has a brand new life.

Did anyone notice that the people on the left side of the ad are all white (Caucasian), while all the people on the right side of the ad are people of color (and in a shadow).

Stupid is as stupid does.

Luc Hétu   November 24th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

Is that message patriotic and American, or unamerican and palling with zealots?

James   November 24th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

Backwards, redneck, racist, fundamentalist religious freaks for Palin!!! You go girl!

jerry   November 24th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

I wonder if Palin ever went to a KKK rally. How can anyone even suggest that we consider this hate spewing, geography deficiency, zealot in the same sentence with reasonable people. The Republican party has no future for a long, long time thanks to their cast of superstars..George W ("people and fish can co-exist"), Cheyney (Haliburton Hillbilly), McCain (Nuke 'em John), and Sweet Sara (We'll burn you at the stake if you're not a radical fundamentalist). As a life long Republican, I'm proud to say that I'm now a Democrat…and proud of it

P.S> Was David Dukes a Repubican????? Sounds like Sara's kind of guy

Gee, "positive and uplifting" must be the new description of accusing someone of being a terrorist. The extreme right wingers will support Palin no matter how much of a dunce she is, as long as she espouses their "let's force everyone to live by our standards" philosophy.

Jeremiah   November 24th, 2008 2:42 pm ET

To LBJ,

It don't matter the amount you give to charity as a individual as long as you give. It is always some one more fortunate then the other who can give more. Some people might not be able to give at all. You don't know people circumtances. You need to wake up and smell the coffee dude!!

Aaron   November 24th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

You people need to stop your "afraid of sarah" nonsense. No one is afraid of her. She is just dumb and unqualified. She is not scary. Smart people do not want dumb people making decsions for them. Its really pretty simple. Why would anyone be afraid of some stupid hockey mom? Enough already with the scared thing.

Dear JM: My name is Nan Hahn. I'm 62 years old. I'm a retired professional singer and a published poet with a college degree.

Sarah Palin is a waste of human flesh! Her ambition is topped only by her inability and unwillingness to show respect towards ALL of the citizens of the United States of America!

If you love her so much, move to Alaska and you can kiss her feet!

Me? I have better things to do than listen to that bubblehead!

Happyferret   November 24th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

Really?
People are going without food and heat in this country, and this is how they spend $50k? That sums up Palin for me.

April   November 24th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

Here's a better idea… Take that $50,000 and use it to feed our starving children this holiday season, or help people out who just lost their job due to this economic crisis, or donate to a charity that will actually HELP people. There are TONS of other places that money can go where it can be more useful.

tanzanite in CA   November 24th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

OMG Palin needs to just go away – far away. Like Alaska. And she needs to stay there and not bother the rest of the country.

BC   November 24th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

You know, liberals do not hate Sarah Palin – they make fun of her in not very nice ways, but they don't really hate her. The people who really hate her are normal Republicans who have seen their beloved GOP turned into a hate-mongering clown show.

Lyz in MD   November 24th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

What happened to the conservatives thinking it's horrible to criticize the President at a time of war? I mean, I don't think it is horrible to criticize elected officials, but their hypocrisy is showing, innit?

Before the election, they practically accused anyone saying Bush was not serving us well of treason, and now they're saying America "deserves better" than the President-elect, essentially taking out ads complaining about the election result.

America does deserve better— than what we have now! We proved it by electing someone better.

The ads are disgusting and pathetic.

Sherry   November 24th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Why is she even getting headlines still? We have a president, and we have a president-elect. She lost…time for her to please stop being covered by the news, and go away to Alaska again. She's an airhead, and CNN should have better things to do than cover this hard-core right-wing nutjob. This is exactly why I don't listen to FoxNews…right-wing smeg like this. Please CNN, for the sake of all that is newsworthy, stop covering anything Sarah Palin related. Unless it's to report that she got eaten by a polar bear. That would make me laugh. Teehee. :)

Jack   November 24th, 2008 2:39 pm ET

Very, very, very tired of her. Time to go away, study hard on domestic and foreign issues and then reinvent herself to come back in 2010 to see if we still care.

Don't think we will!!

Nancy   November 24th, 2008 2:39 pm ET

Why??? Why would anyone be spending tens of thousands of dollars promoting Palin on TV ads 3 weeks after the election is over??

Some people have way too much time and money on their hands. And, obviously no common sense!

Magnus   November 24th, 2008 2:39 pm ET

No kidding. Do we really have to perpetuate the idea that we are all a bunch of idiot inbred hicks who vote for people who come from the "Pro-America" parts of this country?

I guess even ignorant right-wing extremists need representation too. This is America after all.

All these negetive ads are still from the no clue democrats…..lets see what Obama does bet he gets us really in dept and I pray for our military….thank God we can vote again in 4 years unless of course its impeachment time for him…..this was a bad choice look at illinois pick 3 numbers on 11-5 when Obama came out at midnight to accept the nomination the numbers were 666 what more do you need.

What a joke these folks are. Seems like a money grabbing scam at it's best with some losers and outdated minds put on this site to mislead Americans.
As far as comparing Palin to Reagan, not a chance. She is a creepy wing nut who needs to go back to Alaska and give birth to a few more kids and kill a few more animals to keep herself occupied, oh and to make her husband rich.
The more right wing you go the more liars, liars and more Liars you see! Enough said.

Georgia Jeffries   November 24th, 2008 2:38 pm ET

Sarah Palin was an incompetent idiot! She made it known by her lack of common knowledge and inability to answer questions in a coherent way. Anyone who thinks she could have been an excellent president or vice president is just as much an idiot! Why is she still being talked about? leave her alone and let her go back to moose hunting and pretending that she knows what's going on!

With the current state the economy is in, you would think the PAC would donate to the hardest hit people instead if running a series of political ads for Sarah… There is NO national office she can run for for another four years so spare us the rhetoric and do some good with the cash!!!!

Glad so many democrats like to hang out here waiting to attack anything written about any Republican. Need to go after Peolsi and Reid, they are evil as well. Let me remind you that Governor Clinton failed after his first term as Governor and went on to become a hero to everyone. Palin was just to new, not experienced enough, give her time just as I'll let Obama and the dem controlled congress forced their will upon me.

We have an economic crisis with real folks staring at foreclosures, lost jobs, and trying to find ways to keep their heads above water on their financial stability. I couldn't give two cents on who wants to run in 2012, let alone Sarah Palin. And if she's anything like some people claim, she wouldn't care either. For those people "inspired" by Sarah Palin need I remind them to pls. watch the Katie Couric interview, and remind you of her comments that Barack Obama "palled around with terrorists" are thoughtless, vindictive comments that failed to persuade voters to support her. Ronald Reagan was able to work with Democrats to get something done. Sarah Palin has demonstrated no such leadership skills and her foreign policy knowledge is still what it was during the election. Why did her post election popularity in Alaska DECLINE? Reagan speechwriter, Peggy Noonan, criticized Palin throughout the campaign as divisive and unexperienced. Sarah Palin will always have a following of loyal supporters but remember….. the greatest predictor of what a person will do in the future is to look at what they've done in the past.

Sandy R in Washington State   November 24th, 2008 2:36 pm ET

Yep…she was a cute little cheerleader with all the numbing and unrealistic values of 1950, totally inappropriate for the 21st Century. Go back to your animal killing, air polluting, overpopulating, profligate, Pollyannish ways..and keep 'em up there in AK where it appears no one cares!

I have one question: Just why the heck is Palin STILL in the news??? How truly pathetic… Palin supporters need to stop their whining and pathetic support and remind themselves that she's NOT the VP-elect!

Vinnie   November 24th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

Wow, so much hatred and bitterness from those who claim to be tolerant and accepting. Apparently there are many people who feel threatened by Sarah Palin even after the election. Who are you going to blame when the new president and the majority democratic congress don't fulfill your every desire? You folks need to bear in mind that politicians are just PLAYING politics so they can have their way. Neither party gives a diddly squat about any of us, they just want to have the power and run things the way they like. One year from now we'll better know the truth about the president elect. Let's meet back here then and we can discuss how pleased we are with our selection. Until then let's stop all the squabbling and name calling and get on with healing our nation.

You can bet Palin is behind this – she'll do anything to keep her ugly dumb mug on television – enough is enough – get rid of that bimbo once and for all – I'm sick and tired of seeing her puss on televison – she's a nothing and a nobody – understand; she's nothing but a Hitler Junior.

Jeanne H.   November 24th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

Palin's ego is way out of control. Never mind that she has inspired much hatred and bigotry during the election campaign, pitting americans against americans (yeah, those who are more "american" because they're willing to believe in the lies, and those who are smart enough not to believe those lies therefore are un-american) whites against non-whites… what a venomous person, yet her ego has gotten so big she can't stop. Sad…

John   November 24th, 2008 2:33 pm ET

Sarah Palin needs more than some cheap commercial spots in AK to salvage her reputation that she herself ruined by being an ignorant, hate spreading hocky mom. All I can say is good luck, I hope she gets the nomination in 2012 so that we can have another 4 years with OBAMA

Our entire country is reeling from the current economy and we have groups spending 50 thousand dollars on Thank You ads to a political candidate after the election is over. How about donating that money to charity? That would be a common sense approach to values. The ads they are running are a disgrace.

Yeah, THANK you Sarah – you creep!!!

I am a graduate student in Ecology. I am a "lefty" I make less than 18000 a year and I give at least 500 a year to charity not including the time I give volunteering. Maybe 500 a year is not that much, but I give what I can on the salary I make and when my salary increases, so will my donations. Perhaps you should not generalize everybody.

In her first speech at the RNC she insulted people in my field (freshwater ecology and restoration). I do not remember if that was before or after she insulted community organizers. However, from here it was a downhill tumble. Not only does she want to teach creationism in school, take polar bears off the endangered species list so she can drill for more oil, hunt wolves from helicopters, claim to be an energy expert even though she knows nothing of the future of renewable energy, can not name one news source that she reads, not have the ability to answer a question with complete and coherent sentence, but she breeds hate and perpetuates the idea that to be a real American, you should not think for yourself, but think what people tell you is patriotic.

She was and is a disgrace to national politics in our country. If she were to stay quiet in Alaska, it would do us all a favor.

JM,

I am a republican who was absolutely turned off by Ms. Palin. She was a female version of Karl Rove, with out the mental ability and smarts to be on center stage. And her accomplisments are she was able to beat a corrupt politician and become governor of a state that has ablout as many people as this website and of a state that is still counting election ballots from Nov. 4th.

My accomplisments… BS in Finance 4yrs and 1 summer
Only one university for that degree
Who's who among college students
First in my family to graduate from college
2 kids who are happy and relatively normal
Successful career
Mentor of inner city kids
member of 3 different boards/focus on kids

I hope this helps you understand the type of person who is not a Palin supporter. She represents all that is bad in the country and the world. If she wasn't pretty, by some standards, she wouldn't have been invited to the party. She has done more to set women back with her lame attempt to flirt her way to the 2nd highest position in this land.

To Dave in Central Illinois: Here's your Obamite, hateful crazed rhetoric you wanted inserted:

"The only positive, uplifting message this pathetic excuse for a woman gave during the campaign was when she shut her stupid, hate-mongering, race-baiting mouth and walked off the stage. If this is the only thing the Republican gutter-snipes can offer up as a candidate down the road, we can look forward to many more years of Democratic domination in the White House and Congress – Yes We Can!"

That's my hateful crazed rhetoric, and I approve this message because it's the truth.

Matt   November 24th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

How anyone could call her lying, her nastiness, her veiled racism and McCarthyistic campaign stump speaches "uplifting" is beyond me. You don't even have to focus on what a golly-gee-whiz-gosh-darn outright moron she is to counter the argument. She was nothing but negative. But hey, keep it up GOP…please please please put her in a prominent spot in your party. You'll win that political Darwin Award yet.

Ruth Thompson   November 24th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

The thought of Miz Palin presenting the State of the Union address in some distant future just kills me. My mute button is already worn out from her appearing on the news during the campaign. She needs voice and grammar lessons desperately if she is ever to be taken seriously. Oh, and an education on current events would be helpful too so she can answer questions with a modicum of intelligence.

Give it a rest already! She has run her course. There are many more pressing problems than Sarah Palin to be addressed! And in the current economical world that money could be better spent, like maybe, helping Alaskans to meet their financial obligations. Get real people!

Ms. Palin should consider doing a centerfold in a fundamentalist christian magazine. She can be saying something clever like "America is a Christian country" or "we're fighting a Holy War in Iraq". They just don't make morons like they used to.

PirateRo   November 24th, 2008 2:31 pm ET

I have tried desperately to convince the executive management at realldolls.com to produce a Sarah Palin look-a-like doll with a button in the back that makes her say "Drill baby! Lisa   November 24th, 2008 2:29 pm ET

All of you screaming to use the money to feed the hungry…what about the ridiculous amount of money being spent on the inauguration? The problem with Palin is not that she's "conservative" or that those who dislike her are "lefties". The problem is that she's a nitwit. Surely Republicans can come up with someone better than her in 2012. If not, their party is indeed in serious trouble.

Oh, and she ran her campaign in a "positive" and "uplifting" manner? I must have been watching the wrong campaign, because I just saw her slinging mud at her opponent and foisting out red meat to her bloodthirsty supporters.

Lilarose in Bandon, Oregon   November 24th, 2008 2:28 pm ET

Don't tout Ronald Reagan. He was NO GOD!

Reagan didn't care about women's issues whatsoever. He set women back years until Clinton came on board.

The Republican party is a dying breed. They even swear by their dark suits, which must mean they are preparing for their own collective funeral.

Sarah Palin is a chippie at best.

Frank the Tank   November 24th, 2008 2:28 pm ET

As a republican, I'm seeing Palin putting Palin first and I hope for a serious Republican change in leadership as our country changes. So much damage has been done and there are core values of our party that are still great for America.

Missy M   November 24th, 2008 2:27 pm ET

I just have to laugh at the comments that decry this spending as "wasteful." Shouldn't we remember that spending is GOOD, especially in a sluggish economy. The money this pac spent is helping to keep people in jobs – and these aren't federal dollars being spent! Are we really coming to a point in this society where people are going to judge how others spend their money? The self-righteousness of some of the people commenting on here is simply appalling.

ChrisB   November 24th, 2008 2:27 pm ET

Ah yes, we ARE afraid of Sarah… I have more knowledge about this country and the world in my little finger than this woman has in her entire body… you're darn right she frightens me, and it's not 'cuz she's a tough, strong woman.
Also, really? The reason we're in an economic downturn is because people are afraid of Obama? Could it maybe be because a system that depends on perpetually purchasing more and more, even though there are limited supplies of money and natural resources is not sustainable? Oh no, it has to do with that crazy socialist/Marxist Obama. Give me a break people!

Thank you? Thank you for what? Perpetuating the polarization of both parties that Bush bagan? Making a mockery out of conservatism? Handing Obama the presidency on a silver platter?

Sarah Palin is to the Republican Party what Ted McGinley is to "Happy Days", "The Love Boat", and "Married…with Children". It's going to take the Republican party years to undo the damage that she and McCain inflicted.

MikeH   November 24th, 2008 2:26 pm ET

I work with a lady that looks like the one in the center of that ad picture.

She rails against Obama for being a socialist who's going to going to ruin America's economy.

No matter what line of logic I try to use to explain to her that Bush has already ruined America's economy AND has given away over a TRILLION taxpayer's dollars to banks auto companies, war profiteers, etc, she won't hear it.

This ad is for her and people like her who can't form an original rational thought to save their life. Not much to be done except educate the children to statistics-literate, and wait a couple of decades.

Once the election was over, I was very much looking forward to Sarah Palin's name no longer being in the news. While I understand ultra conservatives aligning with her extreme right views, I do not understand how anyone with any intelligence who is not a radical conservative could support Ms. Palin for any political office of significance that would require decisions be made by an unbiased, intelligent individual. Dismayed as I am, I will remain hopeful that she will soon retreat to her former anonymity in Alaska.

Daryl from Seattle   November 24th, 2008 2:23 pm ET

These guys just…don't…get it! They are doing her more harm than good. Throwing millions of dollars down the drain on Palin right now is a waste and it wouldn't matter even if they did it again in four years. Obama ALREADY beat her! It wasn't McCain who was the competitor, it was Palin with those huge rallies and attacking rhetoric. Nothing will change if she runs again. Some people just don' t have the mental capacity for certain things and national politics puts that on display for Palin. And c'mon…..'Moose' an alternative to 'Turkey'. That is so ignorant.

Eating moose on Thanksgiving is unpatriotic and un-American. Communists eat moose on Thanksgiving, or, as they call it, the last Thursday in November, because, as we know, communists don't celebrate Thanksgiving. And why would they, they just get everything, as the wealth is spread around to them even though they don't work. So they just sit around on the last Thursday of November, as they do every other day of the year because commies don't work, and eat moose chili and don't give thanks for anything. Ergo, I dunno about you but eating moose chili sure sounds like communism to me.

1. Which Party has controlled the White House for the last 8 years?
2. Which Party has controlled Congress for 6 of the last 8 years?

Gov Palin embodies exactly what has been wrong with the country for the last 8 years – MEDIOCRITY. Mediocre President, Mediocre Republicans, Mediocre Executives.

Ron   November 24th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

Hah…. The only thing Palin and Reagan had in common is that they were both dumb.

WORD UP!   November 24th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

This insanity must end NOW! The election is OVER & Palin didn't win the White House. Her supporters need to except this reality and move on with their lives.

George Poulos   November 24th, 2008 2:22 pm ET

Palin is a JOKE! 'Caribou Barbie' was about as qualified to be VP or P as Pee Wee Herman! Her lack of basic geographical and world event and international knowledge is beyond pathetic and sad, especially for a candidate that was running for VP (and being a heartbeat away from the P)! The conservative party needs SERIOUS restructuring and a new image, and Sarah Palin is the furthest from what they now need. Go away Palin!

THANK YOU for helping to elect a true leader and new hope for America!!

I do hope she runs in 2012…what a joke.

I just love Sarah Palin for the entertainment value. Haven't had so many laughs in years. Although I did cry when I heard her described as positive & uplifting. I remember her as divisive and a creator of fear. I'm so glad the GOP are still spending their money to entertain us. Keep it coming.

Peter (CA)   November 24th, 2008 2:20 pm ET

The right wingers on these blogs keep ranting about how we will not "leave poor Sarah alone". Believe me, I think most of us would be happy to never hear her name again. And, no, we are not afraid of her. Please run her as your candidate in 2012. It will make our job so much easier. Good for her for becoming Governor but trying to grab the national spotlight spewing hate and lies is inappropriate.

LBJ—if you know anything about research, you know that one single study is not enough to mean much. It has to be replicated to show some consistency. By the way, the Brooks study has several large holes in it that make the results questionable at best.

mr. midwest   November 24th, 2008 2:19 pm ET

yo – lbj,

check your (and mr. brooks) facts. i have read mr. brooks books and they are rife with opinion without facts to back them up. as one reviewer put it:

"Take this for example, ”Conservative households in America donate 30% more money to charity each year than liberal households." Conservative how? When? Liberal how? What constitutes a charity? I suspect that if Brooks were more specific, his conclusions (I hesitate to say "argument" when I haven't been presented with one) would be far less compelling."

further research concluded that mr. brooks counted giving to churches as "charity." if religious conservatives didn't give to their church i would judge them to be hypocrites.

you can always find a "hack" to back up your viewpoint – what you need, sir, are facts. keep searching – you aren’t there yet.

Kevin PA   November 24th, 2008 2:19 pm ET

its so funny to watch the republican party implode. and lets face it, the only people left in the republican party are white southern bible thumpers. all they have to run on anymore is social conservativeness. (gay marrige and abortion) because they are not economic conservatives anymore. most of the real conservatives, economic or otherwise have already abandoned ship to the libertarian party. all thats left in the rep party are neo-con brainless robots like palin who can only repeat slogans and talking points instead of thinking for themselves and innovating solutions.

Connecticutian   November 24th, 2008 2:18 pm ET

My goodness, what mindless vitriol from so many. I guess it's true that we get the government we deserve. Is it impossible for you to offer a critique of ideas, or are you only able to demean and insult?

Here's a good example, from Latina-Indepedent-4-OBAMA:
"Palin did nothing but incite HATE, ANGER, AND DIVISION! "

Really? Where and when? I must have missed it. Listen up friends, nobody can "incite" those things if they aren't already in our hearts! While I thought she was unprepared to govern the nation, I did agree with many (not all) of her positions. It incited no hate, anger, or division in me; it only seems to have had that effect on liberals. Why is that? Are you not as enlightened and tolerant as you imagined?

Here's a wacky idea… if you want the media to stop talking about Palin, stop reading the articles and commenting on the blogs! Lack of interest is the surest way to put an end to it. But instead, you prove that you have a vindictive need to keep punishing her over and over for some imagined offense. Doesn't seem healthy to me.

betmarie   November 24th, 2008 2:18 pm ET

Oh no another reason to keep the television tunred off! It is ironic that the people who claim to be so taken in by her claim to be real Americans and pro-women. Have to give Sarah credit she is doing a bang up job of sounding like a real team player now ~ wanting to be interviewed, support Barrack and pray for him. It's laughable but the same idiots that believe drug riden Rush will buy this proaganda as well.

Self-made woman   November 24th, 2008 2:18 pm ET

shawn   November 24th, 2008 2:18 pm ET

sour grapes on the far right. They cannot rule the country forever.

Regarding   November 24th, 2008 2:18 pm ET

Telling people they are basically terrorist sympathizers is surely a positive and issue oriented approach to campaigning.

Sue   November 24th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

Are these people serious? Reagan? Uplifting? Positive? She is none of those things. She was rude, mean, divisive and borderline vicious in her attacks, and she couldn't even get along with her "handlers" nor her running mate. I fail to see any redeeming qualities in her, but if they want to waste their money, go ahead. I can tell you, most of the country will be begging them to stop and work on something that will help this country now. But then, if Obama succeeds, they lose again. Ha!
Dave, your comment would be true except that everything we say about her is TRUE. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Annie, Atlanta   November 24th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

Is this a joke? Thanking Sarah Palin? For what? Fear mongering, hate mongering, using an us vs. them approach viciously? This woman reveled in the hate rallies she presided over, unleasing hate in the ugliest of ways, lying through her teeth, yet talking about God? She, in and of herself, sums up what is wrong with America, not what is right. People like her in power could see us all the way back to the 1600s and Salem-type witch hunts. She actually endangered the life of President-elect Barack Obama. No thank you, Sarah Palin.

Joe Green   November 24th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

Republicans mired in the past, trying to relive old victories…

Democrats looking toward the future, building on present victories…

Who wins? Not hard to figure out.

Sarah Palin was no Ronald Reagan.

Lauren the Designer   November 24th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

I'm glad I don't live in Alaska.
If they really wanted to thank her, they should have donated all that money to a special needs charity or something.

Tony   November 24th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

Uplifting? Inspiring? Common sense? Positive? Values?

Why is NASA spending money looking for intelligent life elsewhere.?Why don't they see if they can find any here.?

Apparently Alaska wouldn't be the place to start.

John   November 24th, 2008 2:17 pm ET

I seriously doubt that anyone will EVER take her seriously again. Its an unfortunate use of resources to keep her name on the front page, unless of course, its in the entertainment section. Ms Palin has done herself and her family a disservice by collorating with the "handlers" who are going to lead her astray some more.
Ms. Palin will someday regret the spotlights.

Michael, Houston Texas   November 24th, 2008 2:16 pm ET

Funny to see on here that most of you defending that nutcase are probably middle aged men that are all hot and bothered by Sarah. Stop with the blue pills old guys and keep the blood in your brain so you can think straight. Oh by the way JM, I challenge you to go first. We need your full name, address, DOB, SS number, copies of any degrees or certifications that you have acquired, occupation, current salary if any. Yeah right, as I thought! N from Nevada   November 24th, 2008 2:16 pm ET

Enough Already – Let the woman fade into obscurity. She was instrumental in running an extremely negative campaign. The woman is woefully ignorant of what is going on in her own country not to mention internationally. I am Democrat, but to compare her to Reagan is shameful. I truly hope for a change that the Republican party can find someone with true integrity and foresight to lead them.

Desmond Sequeira   November 24th, 2008 2:16 pm ET

Pailin started off being used and, now, she is the user – of a desperate constituency. Her entire conduct during her (and I emphasise "her") campaign, marked as it was by nasty "smear &fear" rhetoric, coming from a so-called Christian, would have made Christ cringe, I think.
She did declare, "God will do what is right for America". He has now, or hasn't he?

Beth   November 24th, 2008 2:16 pm ET

What a total waste of money. Do they really think this will have any real meaningful effect? Sara Palin is finished as far as presidential politics go. The Republican Governors don't really have much respect for her either!!!

Professor from Seattle   November 24th, 2008 2:16 pm ET

To JM: What have I accomplished that allows me to understand (and vocalize) what a nut-job Sarah Palin is? I went to college when i was 16, graduated when I was 19, kept going and am now on my third PhD in the sciences. (Molecular biology, nutrition, chemistry). I also am one of the youngest tenure-track professors at my college.

You want us to give our credentials? Sure. What about yours?

foxgate   November 24th, 2008 2:15 pm ET

The problem with PALIN is that she is ANTI American. This is the time for the country to wake up and realize that this country was made great by the spirit of COOPERATION. Palin seeks to divide and try to force a religious minority manifesto on the rest of us. She needs to grow up.

Lis   November 24th, 2008 2:15 pm ET

so sad. i am not a feminist, but i really think its a shame how sarah palin doesnt get it and let folk use her up like this. is this the republicans answer to whatever it takes? thats why you are where you are..dumb decisions. its ok. you can have some of this change too. its for everyone. no one but 250 of us are paying it attention…minus me….im done.

What is the point of all of this? Is it to create justification for Palin's alleged $7,000,000 book deal payout? As D.L. Hughley said it best: "That's a lot for a comic book".

She was and is an insult to thinking women. Palin inspired millions of women to ensure they did NOT want to be like her (uninformed, ignorant, hafeful in speech, religion-over-reason and unprepared) – and voted accordingly. The Republican ticket lost!

Go get an education Sarah before you open your mouth. In fact, just go away! Palin cannot be taken seriously – she is OLD NEWS. GET OVER IT!!!

Susan, NC via LA   November 24th, 2008 2:15 pm ET

Oooookkkkkkaaaaayyyyyy. You know, this PAC represents everything wrong with the Republican party right now. They're rooted more in "stop" something than "move forward." People like this helped my Republican husband decide to vote for Pres.-elect Obama.

edith in florida   November 24th, 2008 2:15 pm ET

What stupidity and smugness that any one would spend money praising that nitwit… I did not see or hear any redeeming feature about her or anything she had to say.. all I heard when I could stand to listen to her, was lies, exaggerations on any subjects. and God have mercy on all of us that would have that caliber of person, being vice president. Why don't you nitwits give the money to a charity that supports your beleifs.and etc. ? You are sick people. Better yet , donate the money to children with special needs if you care so much about her. that would be the Christian thing to do Think about it. !

The funny thing about this ad is that the group that is running this ad is called The our country deserves better PAC, yet how is running Sarah Palin for president, giving our country something it deserves, I mean this woman is dumber than paint, how would she make this country better? The right wing wacko's claim that the left is a afraid of a women who is a strong conservative women with principle, no we are just afraid of how dumb she is.

Mike   November 24th, 2008 2:14 pm ET

At the end of the day the Reps are desperate to find someone to promote who's not like the status quo in the party, and apparently this is the best they've come up with. I hope they get the message that Americans want them to readjust their philosphy and Palin isn't it. If this is the best they hope they've got for 2012, then the Dems will be in power for a long time. Apparently it seems they've convinced her that she's a great leader and figured if they can get her to listen to that, then she'll believe whatever they tell her to do and they have the dream puppet.

globalgroove   November 24th, 2008 2:14 pm ET

It just amazes me that only a few short months ago nobody ever heard of this woman outside Alaska. Within minutes she becomes a Goddess….For those who claim she is a self made success, I say back that it does not take much to win an election in a state that has a population of 600,000 including children. The woman is a viper who would eat her own children if it meant it would further her career.

jake747   November 24th, 2008 2:14 pm ET

JM, anyone who enters politics opens themselves up to huge scrutiny. That's what folks are doing with Palin. Keep crying over her all you want, but that's reality. Accomplishments? I've had many, but I have ZERO interest in participating in politics, as most of us don't. I don't see you supplying your name, address, and background either.

You need to basically grow up and discover something called maturity. Politics are a bigtime game, if your candidate can't handle it, too bad. Obama was railed over and over and over visciously by you right-wingers…did he cry? No, he kicked your "you know what."

They have the right. We now see that the networks are admitting that the biased the news toward obama and posted negative tainted information against Palin and McCain.

And it didn't start there. They fell all over themselves to smear Hillary so the empty suit and present voter would win the nod.
————————————————————————————-
Ok, I don't like calling females idiots but Marge, you're an idiot. The media didn't vote for Obama, WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DID. The only thing the networks got right MARGE is when they announced Obama as the nominee and when they announced he is president. Now I know this doesn't make you happy but neither does me knowing how much of a tard you are so as much as this pains me, you're an idiot.

Jaime   November 24th, 2008 2:14 pm ET

Chris   November 24th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

Sarah will be in hot water soon. Her so called high approval rating was mostly due to the checks the Alaskans get she made bigger. However, with all the uncovering of office abuses that are being uncovered from back to her Mayoral days will shed light on what type of Religious Zealot she is. She was brought up Pentecostal so in her mind she is doing God's work so her attitude is that she is above Man's Law and continues to do as she pleases. Just so you know she keeps bringing up Ayers to Obama but neglects to come out about her and Todd’s ties to a Separatist group that is considered a Terrorist Group. But then again there goes the old GOP Additive, do as I say not as I do.

Geoff   November 24th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

Thank you Sarah. For losing the election for McCain.

What an idiot.

trish, nc   November 24th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

I say to the GOP: KEEP IT UP — bleed the conservative movement dry! It makes no difference — they lost.

Idolizing Palin is all that remains. But isn't worshipping false gods (or goddesses in lipstick, in this case) one of those….er, well, ahem……nevermind…

Proud American from Charlotte, NC   November 24th, 2008 2:13 pm ET

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner,"

Positive and uplifting manner — I think not. This should read:

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans to fight against common sense human principles in a negative, demeaning, and divisive manner."

Now…that's much better.

Nobody talked about charity, it's about the uneducated folks that tried to promote Palin after a landslide election which has been already three weeks ago. Instead of talking of all these nonsenses, if you really care about Sarah Palin and the Ignorant right wings Conservatives, why don't you all together encourage Sarah Palin to go to school at least to better represent you the next time around. Bev   November 24th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

Oh poor Palin. She doesn't realize she is the personification of everything that's wrong with this country. She unknowingly promotes the way of thinking we are trying so hard to get rid of in the middle east. They have a "my way is right, yours is wrong mentality" which is unacceptable in today's society where there are so many different opinions. Thank god we will have someone in office who realized that there are other people with many different problems and will not take away any right of the minorities.

Margaret, Minnesota   November 24th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

I am tired of this ignorant woman and wish to never see her on national media again. If she is the Republican futures then the party will sink into political oblivion.

John   November 24th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

The election is over….republicans were vanquished…..why must we insist on still continuing with the insults and comments made in bad taste? Would the left be happy if conservatives continually insult President Obama the way they did George Bush? I am willing to give Obama a chance by lending my support to his success. I am willing to be the better person and get behind our president and country. Please stop with the attacks on governer Palin and the right. The election is over and we need to heal together as Americans.

nm mom   November 24th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

I can't believe they're still trying to sell the rest of us on Palin. Do they not have a clue? If the Republicans keep this up, we won't have to worry about Republican control for a long, long time – if we do the rest of the world will think we're crazy!!

Vickie   November 24th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

I don't who thinks up these things or even pushes them on the American Public, but enough is enough! If the GOP or other organizations want to push Palin in our faces I bet you there are going to be more organizations pushing to defeat her! Many Americans were presented with Palin and made their choice NO PALIN. I would work hard to never see Palin hold Vice-President/Presidential status in this country!

mzbond   November 24th, 2008 2:12 pm ET

Gordo   November 24th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

I am a Republican that decided to vote for Obama, the biggest reason was I thought John McCain made a major error selecting Palin. She seems to be less than bright, and not capable of stepping in as the President. I am sure that a the DNC is very thankful to Palin and may in fact be supporting the ad campaign. If Palin is on the ticket in
2012 relection will be a lock even if the Dems don't get it right.

John McCain, you dissappointed me and let me down with your selection. It was just stupid. Not because she is a woman, there are many capable women available for the VP job that could have stepped into the President job. Why should we even have to consider such
a person with a definite lack of understanding of the elementary
issues. Too much time in Alaska must have frozen her brain.

Republican women should fee insulted, I am sure many did and I am sure many crossed over to Obama. I expect that in retrospect McCain
did the country a big favor for making the decision to switch so easy.

indianapolis   November 24th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

I love it. Keep it up I say…the more the G.O.P. wants to stand behind here as the figurehead of the party, the further away they'll fall from the pulse of America. I have nothing against the right (most of the time); in fact I agree on principal with some of the ideology. But this is yet another perfect example of how the right has failed (and continues to fail) to modernize and expand their base. She represents a very narrow-minded school of thought full of ultra conservative views; she might as well hire Rush Limbaugh as a campaign adviser for the next go-around. In the meantime, we'll go ahead and start printing up the Obama '12 victory signs now.

Bob Dog   November 24th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

I think this is wonderful!

Palin is an entertaining goofball without any chance to get elected to anything on a national basis. But is super to see these folks waste their money on harmless advertising that will actually help stimulate the economy, and even more important, help prolong conflict within and caos within the Replublican party.

Vegas Barbie for Obama   November 24th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

It's that kind of anger (i.e., the "Stop Obama Now" bus tour) that was so characteristic of Palin and those she attracted to her hate and fear-mongering rallies that was the downfall of the McPalin ticket. Buy away conservative rednecks! Sarah is back where she belongs, where men are skiing and moose are scared!

Rob   November 24th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

To LBJ,

Sure is easy to toot your own horn, isn't it? I'll believe you gave 30k last year when you create a webpage and post the receipts. If you can't prove it I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest you are a liar…

Give me a FREEKING BREAK. What did Sarah Palin inspire people to do? The only thing I could think of is to kill wild animals and birds. All of Sarah Palin's fans are people without COMMON SENSE.

Adam   November 24th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

When did you conservatives start letting women tell you what to do or even influence you at that? Barack Obama and Sarah Palin are only stepping stones to a brighter future. When crazy rightist can accept religious propaganda from a woman I know our country is changing for the better. As a veteran I am still proud to continually serve our great country and will continue to do so no matter who is president. Our duty is to protect everything we hold dear as Americans. So to all my fellow Marines, Sailors, soldiers, and Airmen give the man a chance because it is your duty and stop cryn.

Phil in KC   November 24th, 2008 2:11 pm ET

"…I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin."

I see many similarities between President George Bush and Governor Palin: a mammoth lack of knowledge, a frightening oblivious to the situation around them and inability to put together coherent sentences.

But please, oh please, nominate her in 2012.

Obama Repeat in 2012

chelle   November 24th, 2008 2:10 pm ET

While Ronald Reagan was not one of my favourite people, he was intelligent, thoughtful, and well-spoken. Sarah Palin has done nothing to be compared to him. She "governs" 600,000 people, for less than two years, and then is the second coming of Reagan?? She can't put a coherent sentence together (even when discussing cooking a turkey for heaven's sake!), she alienates others by insisting her way is the only way, and has no knowledge of the world. Yeah – excellent comparison…..

bluken   November 24th, 2008 2:10 pm ET

The next logical step in the dumbing down of the Republican party. Pander to an ever shrinking pool of low information voters. How do you think a black man named Obama beat a war hero in the post 9/11 era? The next election could put the final nail in the Republican party. It's too bad, becuase this country needs a strong, intelligent conservative party.

fran   November 24th, 2008 2:10 pm ET

Hurray for those people who stand up for Sarah Palin. I join them in thanking her for all her efforts, moral standards and wonderful family. We KNOW the race is over. If they want to spend their money on Sarah, good for them. They don't need to give it to charity……don't you remember Obama is going to take care of you!! If you don't want to watch, turn the TV off……isn't that what you liberals are always telling us? She is no longer under McCain's campaign's thumb. Let the rest of us love her and celebrate her for who she is. If you don't like it……well, too bad. If you didn't like her interviews,…get over it! She can say what she wants. I doubt any of you Sarah haters could run a great state like Alaska. You must lead such miserable lives that you have to put her down. Don't you liberals always preach "live and let live"? You just can't stand that she has it all…..beauty, intelligence, great husband/family and a great job she was ELECTED to. Deal with it!

Wow, what a waste of money. Fools. And what's this attempt to rewrite history and say she ran an "uplifting and positive" campaign? Are you kidding me? She was the most viscious and negative campaigner in any election I can remember.

And, please, stop the comparisons to Reagan. She was no Reagan, not even close.

There was absolutely NOTHING uplifiting or positive about the way Palin ran her campaign. She lied and smeared her way through her time in the spotlight. The only thank you I have for Sarah Palin is "thank you for finally shutting the hell up!"

Duke   November 24th, 2008 2:08 pm ET

Please, please, please Republicans, please keep pushing Palin. I really don't think these people understand how "out of touch" she is with the American public. If the Republicans move in this direction, their time in the wilderness will be longer than most people think right now.

Please keep pushing Palin

I'm happy that the majority of people in Alaska and the conservative base took a liking to Sarah Palin when McCain announced his VP pick, but that begs the question 'Why?'. Other than the fact that God, or at least her God, speaks to her and guides her, what divine purpose does Palin have for this country? If the GOP and their base has anything to say about Palin's political future it will be divide, scare, and conquer.

Palin is truly a joke. The GOP strategists should be ashamed of trying to promote her as Reagan-like. RIDICULOUS.

khatts98178   November 24th, 2008 2:07 pm ET

My, my, my,…..Ronald Regan must be hop-scotching in his grave for comparing this idiot Governor Sarah Dump Palin to him. This is an insult. The less we hear of her the better offf we would be. She's just like a cancer that doesn't want to go away.

She doesn't have to keep any promise, because she doesn't have any what-so-ever. Just drop out of school rhetorics and no substances.

Anastasia   November 24th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

I guess what's in Alaska does NOT stay in Alaska… shame.

Divisive, nasty, partisan woman. Whomever insists she was "positive" and "uplifting" is either a fool, or a liar.

Put her on a ticket in 2012, and I'll be certain to vote against her, as I did this time.

Bryan   November 24th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

Palin is the worst thing to happen to the republican party since Baby Bush. Republican's have gone completely off the reservation and isolated themselves from moderates, something exemplified perfectly by Palin.

Get back to the Regan themes. Small Government and smart spending. Don't get caught up in stem cells, abortion, and religion. Unless they change course the republican party will be a thing of the past in under 30 years, if not sooner.

Los   November 24th, 2008 2:06 pm ET

I'm glad that so many people have chosen Gov. Palin as their leader, because she'll lead them right off a cliff.

VHoward   November 24th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

Are you kidding me???!!! The woman is so lacking in excellence in anyway that to celebrate her is to embrace idiocy! She cannot even keep her own family in line nor does she expect excellence or provide the motivation for excellence for her children. She thinks that it is ok for a 17 year old to quit high school to have a baby, that it is ok for her juvie son to be thrown out of a hockey camp in Michigan where he went because he was a trouble maker in Alaska, that her husband, with barely a high school education, would be qualified to sit at her right hand during state business and possibly when she could have been vice president? This woman can barely speak in a comprehensible way, as a matter of fact, most of the time you lose track of what her point was trying to decipher her horrible grammer! You think that this is acceptable? We are doomed as a country, if so.

Y   November 24th, 2008 2:05 pm ET

I think Obama should launch the IRS to investigate these groups that are pro-Sarah palin. In these trying times the last thing we need is dis-unity. Republicans should spend their time and money trying to find ways to help Barack Obama save the country. If they are not willing to be positive and part of the solution, they are clearly part of the problem and need to be dealt with accordingly.

Love My USA/Do You?   November 24th, 2008 2:04 pm ET

Here you have someone who is like many of us, who hates what is going on politically, and we keep saying, " We need someone who will fight for us the taxpayers,, instead of all of these GREEDY politicians in Washington". WEll we had a chance to have someone like that, she lost, , and you all still want to bash her.. WHY?
Do you think you all are better off now with retreads of Clinton administration? I doubt it!
CHANGE, yea right… the only change is NO CHANG…

I must be that some people live in a fantasy world that to the majority of people is a screwed up mess. That's where Palin is and if she thinks she has a shot at President in 2012, let her take it. She'lls just come out looking dumber than she does now.

I wish Alaskans would get her out of their government, and God help us if she ever tries to gain another higher office in our great United States of America!!!

Imagine what good they could have done with $50,000. They could have fed some hungry people, helped give medical care to needy children, donated it to develop infrastructure in hurricane-stricken areas. But no. They thought a pro-Palin television commercial was more important than ALL of those things.

zgberg   November 24th, 2008 2:03 pm ET

My bet is Palin will run in the 2012 Republican primary but will lose. She does a good job at rallying the conservative base, but she is too divisive and can't bring in moderates let alone liberals.

She is fine for a state like Alaska. She does get high approval and deserves it. However, it became blatantly obvious throughout the '08 campaign that she was the wrong choice for the McCain ticket – not because she is evil, but because the American public knew deep down how risky of a choice she was. And it took away the experience argument from the Republicans. It was simply too great a risk to have someone that inexperienced at the helm should McCain expire. America felt more comfortable with Obama's so-called lack of experience versus Palin's.

I don't believe Palin will make it to the 2012 general election. If she does, it will be tied to a failed Obama presidency . I've got faith in Barack, that's why I voted for him. But I'm cautiously optimistic…the next few years will truly show if America made the right choice or not.

Sarah Palin has good values, the kind of values America needs in a leader. The problem seems to be the majority of Americans don't want a leader with good values because the people themselves don't have and don't respect good values. The values of the elected officials are a reflection of the values the people admire.

If the media would just back off it would do all of us a big favor

thecatinhat   November 24th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

It is time for Sarah Palin to go back to Alaska. The presidential election is over. The people who put out this ad need to embrace our new president and move on. Sarah Palin was a publicity stunt gone wrong by the McCain campaign. He might have won without her. She didn't preach common sense to anyone. She tried to preach on negativity and by putting down her opponents. Just like the average hockey mom.

John Starnes Tampa Florida   November 24th, 2008 1:58 pm ET

Dave M. — you have it ALL wrong. We "libs" don't hate Palin, or fear her in any way. What we DO worry about are people who somehow think she has something to offer on the national stage.

Alistair   November 24th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

She won't even win her party's nominee!

Robbin   November 24th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

"in a positive and uplifting manner"

What? All I heard was negativity.

SAB   November 24th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

This is really amazing. Sarah Palin does not have the intellect for national politics. Any time it takes six years for an individual to get a four year degree in journalism indicates that there is a problem so where. Her response to the interviews also indicates that she lacks substance for politics on the national level.

Julie in NC   November 24th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

"I worked with President Ronald Reagan since his first days in the California Governor’s Office, and I can tell you that I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin."

Yeah, she is like Reagan after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's!

Giver her a break   November 24th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

Does anyone remember when liberals used to be open-minded and believed in a sort of live-and-let-live philosophy? What happened to those good old-fashioned liberals who just wanted to see the world become a better place and didn't need to relentlessly criticize others to try to prove their point? Reading through some of these comments shows just how narrow-minded our country has become. It's sad. Sarah Palin has inspired many people and hopefully that inspiration will encourage them to do positive things. Accept it and move on.

Soccer Nana   November 24th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

I did not realilze Alaska (and possibly the rest of America) had so many individuals with extremely low self esteem.

How can these people waste money trying to salvage the reputation of someone ,who devastated her own image, by accepting a role she was sooooo not qualified for?

This is scary!

faye   November 24th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

At what point in political discourse did lying about your opponent’s position or personal acquaintances equate to campaigning in a “positive and uplifting manner”?
Embracing Palin means embracing the faction of the party that disdains intellectual discourse and solutions in favor of political expediency and fundamentalist religious teachings. In this ad’s usage, the term “common sense” becomes a pejorative as it becomes equivalent to biblically based, anti-scientific, and racially charged rhetoric.

For your sake, William Buckley, I'm glad you didn't have to see this.

Matt   November 24th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

I always find it funny when people say it was "whiny liberals" complaining after the 2000 election. There were serious problems with that election and I guarantee that if the tables had been turned we would have seen thousands of blogs and so forth from "whiny conservatives".

THIS race is over and it was decisive. Sarah Palin will NOT be our president in 2012, or 2016, or 2020 or any year after that. She has got to be the biggest fake I've ever seen. There is no sign of thoughtfullness, just slogans and catch phrases. Even in the interview last week with the turkeys getting slaughtered in the background (hilarious) she was STILL in campaign mode spouting rediculous certitudes and catch phrases. She would have NO idea what to do about the very serious problems facing this country.

Get over her and find a real candidate that can attract more than just the base whackos.

David in Maryland   November 24th, 2008 1:56 pm ET

Uplifting? You honestly have to be kidding me, this woman who continued to say anything no matter how outrageous over and over again to try to tear others down said nothing at all uplifting during her time on the national stage.

Woodman   November 24th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Dear OurCountryPAC.org:
It has come to my attention that you have been throwing away money to show your support for a shallow, vapid and divisive politician; one who, contrary to what you say, bears no resemblance to Ronald Reagan whatsoever. Had I known you were going to chuck your money out the window with such a cavalier attitude, I would have suggested that you put the money to better use, such as contributing to a charity organization to help Americans during these dire economic times. If you cannot think of a worthy organization to contribute to, please contact me and I will gladly offer some suggestions to you.
Thank you for your time.
Signed,
A Patriotic American

Go Sarah 2012! All of us Democrats would love to have her to mock for another election cycle. Everything is easier, from people who write letters to the editor to the late night comedians. We're rooting for the Republicans to continue down their path of stupidity to add a little hilarity to our normally mundane lives.

Moose burgers for Thanksgiving, I love it! Maybe next year she can pardon a moose and then show everyone the proper procedure of field dressing a moose — preferably we can watch her shoot one from a helicopter with a semi-automatic rifle first.

Here we go,. We are probably going to inundated with news articles and ads about her for the next 4 years. Leave it to the right wing to try to ram it down our throat. Remember, they believe it you hear it often enough, you will believe it. So, they figure if they tell us how great Palin is for the next 4 years, by then we'll be ready for vote for her in 2012. Don't think so. My hope is most of us will remember how truly illiterate she really is.

A woman who exhibited at the very least very poor judgement during her tenure in the offices she held in Alaska is going to show us how to govern ourselves by "fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner"?!?!? Like she did as a state official in AK? Another reason the Republican party as a whole just makes me sick. Dwight Eisenhower, the last good Republican…

Dixie AZ   November 24th, 2008 1:51 pm ET

bruce morningstar   November 24th, 2008 1:51 pm ET

How an anyone be interested in Palin. She is not very smart and poorly educated and would make a horrible Senator, let alone President. How she became a Governor is beyond me. There are many well qualified Republicans ahead of her, I would say at least 1000 in public life. The country and the party needs capable leaders, not popular airheads.

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner"

Really? I suppose the positive and uplifting manner were the rallies she attended that included race baiting and fear mongering? This woman was part of one of the most insulting campaigns in American political history. Surely the Republicans can't be serious about her in 2012. With the multitude of problems the country is facing we need the brightest people possible, not someone who belongs on American Idol.

Elite wall streeters, elite bankers, elite media moguls, not to say anything about the backers of the elites running washington as lobbyists, kitchen cabinets, and mobsters from all around the world. I simply give more credence to a moose hunting, strong willed, in your face, mother of 5, who has only the interest of America, the family, on her heart, than anyone who calls themselves professional or experienced at this time in our countries history. The women of this country need to be ashamed of themselves. You all know who you are. No wonder we haven't broken the ceiling. All women fought for women's rights……to vote…..to be able to have the same jobs as men and to have our voices heard on issuses we care about. Yet, apparantly we aren't ready to stop the petty backstabbing to support women in high places. Women, god love us, come in all shapes and sizes and some wear high heels instead of comfortable shoes. We need to stand together and support each other or none of us will see a woman VP or President in our lifetimes. What lessons are we teaching our daughters? Don't dream too high?

Roofin Reality, Houston, Tx.   November 24th, 2008 1:48 pm ET

nancy miller   November 24th, 2008 1:43 pm ET

I'm not a fan of Sarah Palin's but if she wants to be a viable candidate in 2012 (and I think she does), she needs to get out of the limelight for awhile before she's completely worn out her welcome. We're just 3 weeks past election day and Obama hasn't even taken office yet. If she wants to keep the excitement around her palpable thru 2012, she needs to stop being everywhere all the time. People WILL get tired of her and, come 2012, there will be someone new and fresh for people to get excited about. The best thing she can do for herself, if she wants to stay in politics, is stay home in Alaska, do the best job she can as Governor, and spend some time getting to know and understand the rest of the world (to say nothing of the rest of the U.S.)

Lefty Ladig   November 24th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

Why must the media keep this up?? We finally have a president who the rest of the world will not riducule. Do we really need to perpetuate the idea that the USA is crazy? Or is this all for comedic relief due to the dire conditions we are facing?

Doug Blackman   November 24th, 2008 1:42 pm ET

The problem is not so much Palin as it is the people who fail to see she's a complete nit-wit.

Rory O Shea   November 24th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

$50,000.00 in ads for no good reason? That does not sound like the fiscally conservative party I used to know. They are all just bible nuts now. The election is over people, GET OVER IT

JM   November 24th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

And for all the people insulting this woman's brain capacity, what have you ever accomplished? You are the first one's to degrade this self made woman who became a Governor before the age of 44. What have you ever done besides sit here and hate? If you actually had accomplishments of you own, you wouldn't feel so threatened by her. If you're going to put Gov. Palin down, I suggest you stop hiding behind your made up screen names and stand behind your identity, age, education and accomplishments. Otherwise shut up you cowards.

Phil-Little Rock   November 24th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

I wonder what the moose think about being the alternative to her dinner.

I hear every turkey in the continental U.S. is catching the next Airtran to Anchorage.

Dave   November 24th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

McCain created a monster when he gave that conniving witch national exposure. The only bigger fools are the ones who waste their money promoting her three weeks after the election. What a bunch of sore losers!

Michelle from Kansas City   November 24th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner."

Wow, these people must be living on another planet. Positive and uplifting? She was flinging more dirt in this campaign than McCain, Obama, and Biden COMBINED. Whether you wanted to vote for her or not, you have to be delusional to think that she ran a "positive and uplifting" campaign. She was divisive, spiteful, and hateful. She is also a narrow-minded simpleton.

What amazes me MOST is that in THIS economy, they're wasting money on ads when families can't even afford a meager Thanksgiving meal. Is Palin a Christian like she claims? Maybe she should encourage them to use that cash to feed the poor. Then, I might have at least a TINY shred of respect for her.

LBJ   November 24th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

You lefties who are suggesting that they should be giving the money to charities are hilarious. Like my good liberal friend who is always screaming about how the Republicans screw the poor, most of you probably give nothing to charity. When I confronted my liberal friend with just how much he gave to charity in 2007, it was laughable. Less than $500! And he is in the highest tax bracket

Arthur C. Brooks, Professor of Economics at Syracuse University did the definitive study of charitable giving and the statistics didn't come as any real surprise. Conservatives gave to charities an average of 30% more across all income brackets than did liberals. Wow, what a surprise!

You lefties never walk your talk. Yeah, you're always for giving as long as it's tax payer dollars, but when it comes to giving to charities personally, you fail miserably.

So quit your whining about Sarah Palin and folks who want to support her and step up to the plate and do something personally for a change like giving your OWN money to help others. And just in case you ask, I donated over 30K of my income in real dollars to charities in the last year. How about you lefties? (And BTW, due to the nature of the donations, approx. $25K of the donations weren't tax deductible, so don't even think about slinging that typical lefty mud.)

Pamela from Oceanside, Ca   November 24th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

Why is she still in the news? Go away Sarah. I'm tired of hearing anything about you. Please go be a hockey mom from Alaska and be a much needed mother to your underage pregnant daughter. How does that work out for ya?

Marge   November 24th, 2008 1:41 pm ET

They have the right. We now see that the networks are admitting that the biased the news toward obama and posted negative tainted information against Palin and McCain.

And it didn't start there. They fell all over themselves to smear Hillary so the empty suit and present voter would win the nod.

KPod   November 24th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

I honestly thought the ads were satirical, until I read the article. Really, these should be found in the pages of The Onion, not on television.

larry wi   November 24th, 2008 1:40 pm ET

Hang in there Sarah, a lot of Americans want to see run in 4 yrs, that is if we still have a county that elects it's officials by voting. Just keep in mind you don't have to make promise's that you are expected to keep anyway, just promise anything trhat the moronic public wants to hear, that's the way NObama got elected, then like he is now doing you recant, no harm done!!

Joyce in Florida   November 24th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Stop torturing us by keeping this woman in the news. Is everybody insane?!?!? I don't want to see any of this here in Florida, by golly gee whiz. Just make Palin go away. She was a disgrace to McCain and she helped him lose the election. Enough said.

moonbeam   November 24th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

This inarticulate woman has a journalism degree!!!! She cannot make a simple statement, but rather engages in these interminable diatribes without punctuation. I have never been a big Reagan fan, but to compare her in any way with him likely has him spinning in his grave, and may well contribute to Nancy's demise. Please stop! This joke is no longer funny.

Adrian   November 24th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

Palin who? You mean the woman who used religious rhetoric and extremist views to elicit threats against the government of the United States?
Thought she went to join the other fundamentalist jihadists.

Mickey   November 24th, 2008 1:39 pm ET

I guess when your intelligence is below Palin's, you 'could' look up to her.

An insult to compare her to Reagan; his positive outlook was more like Obama's.

Blue State NC   November 24th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

Yes, thank you, Sarah Palin, for helping put Barrack over the top (in a major way). Now, our country can move forward again. Oh, please run in 2012. This will ensure four more years of progress.

Franky   November 24th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

I would recomment to ALL GOP members to keep it on a low for now. I haven't said this for Conservatives but is good that we are in a low and if you wanna have a chnace in 2012, keep it that way because trust me, when "contracts" are made, is NOT good for business…

Just hire me GOP for crying out loud, I'll let you know what you need to do but boy, you need to work hard…real hard! And by the way, all I have to tell you is "I told you so"…I got more cred now than I ever had in high school and the hood combined, LOL!!

lmgraham13   November 24th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

Go Sarah! Why are you so afraid of a REAL woman? Don't you get it that the economic downturn is due to FEAR of Obama? Why invest if you don't know his plans?…Obamabots GET A CLUE! Sarah Palin for 2012!

Candid   November 24th, 2008 1:38 pm ET

That empty brain lady has never contributed any good things to this country PERIOD

SIMP   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

Please Please run these ads, if you have to in Alaska only. Don't subject us to this idiot any more. DO NOT put this moron out there nationwide, we don't want to see her not to mention hear her annoying voice.

John Dahlman   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

As I am reading these comments about Sarah Palin. I am thinking what a bunch of miserable human beings these people are , it seems there only reason for being is to hate. Sarah Palin has a high approval rating in her state and I think she will do well in Alaska. I think all the people that voted for Obama are going to be disapointed when he is not able to deliver the wonderland he has promised.

snugglebunny   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

Is that her holding the wooden spoon? Campaigning really took a toll on her.

JM   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

I love that all the lefty haters are so afraid of Palin. They are so threatened by a strong, conservative woman. Rock on Sarah.

Bob in Dallas   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

The public's interest/acceptance of Sarak Palin in any major capacity makes me seriously question the public's ability or understanding to select leaders to lead out out of the Bush administration's inspired wilderness to our place in the world and its history, The woman is devoid of ANY major capacity to fulfill such a role. Frankly, she is an insult to our intelligence!

Mary   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

My wish this holiday season is that the far right will continue to pour money and time into Palin. It's wonderful to see them self destruct!

Susan, Macedon New York   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

All I can say to that is that I'm so grateful Ted Stevens lost his senate seat. No doubt he would have been kicked out of the Senate because of his conviction and no doubt Sarah Palin would have appointed herself to his seat.

At least now we don't have to worry about her being in Washington on a day-to-day basis, boring the heck out of us and scaring the children!

These ads are designed to keep her in our face. Hopefully they 'll run out of money soon and she'll disappear into the Alaskan wilderness where she belongs. I just feel sorry for the bears, moose and other wildlife she'll kill while she's "killing time".

Susan

Independent in NC   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

Why is this foolishness making headlines? There are too many important issues to cover. NEXT!!!!

lmc in Seattle   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

Groan–is the next campaign starting already? Palin was positive and uplifting? Only if you agreed with her! I think she sank McCain's campain with her lies, fear-mongering, and devisiveness. I was not a fan of Ronald Reagon, but except for his "trickle-down" theory of economics that never worked, I would have taken him any day over someone like Palin. I can only hope and pray she isn't foisted upon us again. Isn't Alaska going to take her to task for charging the state to stay in her home instead of the governor's mansion or charging the state for her family's travel? I would think Alaska would be tired of her already!

Rick   November 24th, 2008 1:37 pm ET

They can do whatever they want with their money but I think it's a waste. Why not donate it to their favorite charities, or pay their income taxes ahead.

G Miller   November 24th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

Stuff like this just furthers the argument that the GOP party is the party of the ignorant. Honestly, the GOP hasn't put a president in the White House in 4 decades that did anything positive for this country, and their base thinks Palin is who they need?

This is just, sorry to say it, stupid, ignorant white women who are enamored with the idea of a silly, dumb hockey mom running our country.

Debbie   November 24th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

Sarah Palin told the truth. Those that are accusing her of 'mud slinging' need to open their eyes. She couldn't sling it if it wasn't there. I doubt she has control over what the PAC spends the money on.

mitch   November 24th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

palin would be just as good a pick for SOS ,as the current frontrunner.

Nicole   November 24th, 2008 1:36 pm ET

And the point of this ad is what?

With our current economic problems, the last thing we need is any group spending 50k on some ads that have no point. Save your money. Spend it in 4 years. God knows you're gonna need it to elect that woman.

Michael from Connecticut   November 24th, 2008 1:35 pm ET

The entire ad is really a lie. She proved in her Couric interview that she has no common sense, and calling Obama a Socialist nonstop hardly qualifies as a 'positive campaign' The fact that people are trying to get Sarah Palin to save face truly scares me. Comparing Palin to Reagan is like comparing Bush to Lincoln.

dennis_k   November 24th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

Palin = Not news

dishwaterdiva   November 24th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

Two things:

1) Thanks to Sarah Palin for giving all of us more than our money's worth of entertainment during this latest election. We may have actually been bored without her, and had time to talk about the issues.

2) The election is over. Get over it.

Terence, VA   November 24th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

I guess Palin is the best the GOP has to offer!!!
That's really good news for the Democrats.

It's also really good news for those of the Republican voters who do have most of their brain cells still with them: They have a good reason to stop being Republicans now. I know-I was one too.

Cali   November 24th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

This is a complete waste. McCain had my vote until he chose Pailin as a running mate. She did not inspire anything to me, and does not represent me…she is an embarrasment

Charm   November 24th, 2008 1:34 pm ET

I would have been impressed if PAC used this wasted money to help feed the many NOW unemployed Americans due to the incompetence of the current administration. Shame on you PAC and enough on Palin already! She's a joke as a political figure and she is certainly not a role model for women, not today or ever!

Lost in Texas FOREVER   November 24th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

"fighting for common sense conservative principles"? Boy how these conservative principles DO CHANGE. I guess now it's okay for your kids to have babies out of wedlock because the GOP all of a sudden supports unwed mothers. Also it's okay to say enough negative things to cause the ugly side of RACISM to rear it's head at your rallies, huh? And the GOP is wondering why they are losing ground in America..it's partly due to groups like this one. I guess the "Joe the Plumber" thank you ad will be next.

Agnes Fleming   November 24th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

It is so good to see that even in these desperate economic times people still have money to waste on pating ads across Alaskan TV thanking Sarah Palin for coming so close to a coup d'etat in pulling off her election to the vice presidency. On the contrary, I would be thanking the people of America for making the better choice. Besides, I thought the people of Alaska were so impressed with their governor why would they need such ads? Apparently, somebody is not as secure in thier position as they would have us believe, and even the people fo Alaska just might come to their senses with a governor who like to be interviewed right in front of turkeys having their head chopped off. With so many people in America losing their jobs and standing on soup lines, I think Sarah Palin should keep her head down and the PAC might find better ways of spending their money, like contributing it to those in need, including unfortunate turkeys who were beheaded in such a public, bloody forum.

Dave M   November 24th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

Well, having read all of the comments on this article, its clear to me that you libs are still the same. Judging by your unmitigated hatred for Sarah Palin, its obvious that you must be just a little afraid that she might come back to haunt you in 2012. By then, Obama will have proven to be a joke and nothing more than a media creation who was vastly underqualified to be POTUS. I just hope our country survives till then.

See you in 2012, I hope.

pax   November 24th, 2008 1:33 pm ET

We all judge others comments by our own common sense. If one is so endowd. At a very great age, I have seen it all and heard it all before. I am appalled by the lack of intelligent thought when judging our leaders. I guess that is why we are always in some type of catostrophe. IF Palin, (god forbid) is a duplicate of REagan as suggested, please build a fence around Alaska and confine her there. Reagan was the beginning of our failure to support our workers and the companies that worked with them to improve the life of our legions of least ability. He applied the catalyst that destroyed the good (GOOD) unions of the workers, and eventually began the flight from our shores of our infrastructure. Our Businesses that supported our countries needs and growth. Now we are seeing the results. Corruption, graft and the greed of the powerful who wish to rape and destroy this democracy by the use of total Capitalism as our rule.It now is not the wealty who are supporting the cash to save the corporate greed, but that of the ordinary working taxpayers of America.

RJ   November 24th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

You people all have a very convenient case of short-term memory loss, Were you on board and supportive of Bush's new presidency in 2001? NO WAY, I clearly remember the protests, blogs, websites, whinny liberals on TV and in the print media. Shut up and take it, because this is just the beginning. The bloom will fall of the savior's rose soon. I kind of like blaming Obama for everything like you guys did Bush. It's fun for a change.

Woe   November 24th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Let the new president get his feet wet before allowing Sarah Palin's supporters to make campaign gestures for 2012. I mean come on now people. The republicans lost. Accept it and move on and support Obama. I think he is going to run rings around any former President on both sides of the aisle. A conservative thought pattern is usually tainted by religious conotations, which is not a good mixture. It never proves successful. I believe conservatives also like to see people suffer in the name of God. I don't like people's religious beliefs to be the center point of a country's government.

Military Man   November 24th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

I wish they would take that money and buy some food for folks who need it. Why do people waste money on needless things in trying times. Take that money and donate it to help an AMERICAN down on there luck.

Jim   November 24th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

Thank you Sarah Palin for being an genuine idiot and losing the election so that we can have a president that actually has a brain in his head.

Carol   November 24th, 2008 1:32 pm ET

This is the funniest part: "common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner". There wasn't one thing about her behavior that could be considered positive or uplifting – she spewed venom, hatred and fear.

Tomm888   November 24th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

Thanks, Sarah, for doing the job you did running for VP. Thanks to you, we have an intelligent President Elect who is already trying to knock down the walls of Bush and get our economy going as soon as he takes office.

Your constant desire for attention and willingness to blab away at any open microphone was the right ticket for me!

You betcha!

Jon   November 24th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

I voted for Obama mostly because of Sarah Palin, and I'm prepared to do so again in 2012. If the Republicans learned anything from this election, it should be that Sarah Palin appeals only to the conservative base and cannot win national elections.

Chuck   November 24th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

Enough already with Sara Palin! The election is over! We the public don't want to see or hear from this woman any more. Her turkey interview was the last straw!

Andy H   November 24th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

This is too funny. I always wondered what type of idiots followed Charles Manson, Jim Jones, Ron Popeil, Tony Little and now I know. The same people who follow Sarah Palin. People don't you get it, the woman is a pinhead. She will only lead the Republican party into further chaos and disaster. The Democrats must be cheering.

Brian NYC   November 24th, 2008 1:31 pm ET

That is they funniest thing ever. Hey there are people out there that just live that way. LOL

Peachy Keen   November 24th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

You wacko nut jobs are going to make sure the entire country will be absolutely sick of this woman long before any elections come around. Please, get lives and let this thing go. Palin is about half as intelligent as those turkeys that were in her video.

Cathleen   November 24th, 2008 1:30 pm ET

Who are these "millions" she inspired?? Oh wait– the uneducated, the ultra-religious right who think gay marrige is evil yet are fine with charging women for rape kits (Good one Gov. Palin!!), the gun-loving small town hillbilly's…geez she inspired the idiots! Thank God intelligence and common sense prevailed in the election.

It's funny that anyone would spend more money on crap like this given the current state of tthe economy (THANKS BUSH!!).

Palin is a sorry excuse for a woman and mother. Who the hell would consider running for VP with a nine month old special needs child!!???!!! That child needs its mother on a full time basis. Oh wait, she can outsource the role of mother…she's a "good" Rebuplican!

Denizen Kate   November 24th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

We all love to watch a "train wreck," which is why Sarah Palin remains in the news. We've only ourselves to blame. All of you seem universally opposed to further news on this topic, yet we all opened this article.

Let's all make a pact to stop clicking on articles with her name in them. If we ignore her, maybe the moronic media will, too.

HLP   November 24th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

Is this pathetic or what? Sadly Sarah Palin does appeal to a certain to the Archie Bunker types in our society. Not really bright, slighly racist and just plain don't have a clue.

James in CT   November 24th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

People are so blind!! Just because they want desperately to have a woman to be VP or President that they are not even looking at the lack of qualification that Sarah Palin has. Not to mention the more abuse of power that she and her husband is gonna have. And majority of the females who watched her for 2 months thinks she is just a bimbo with a capital B!
The only history she made for 2 months is the lack of intelligence to run for any office.

Dan from Philly   November 24th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

What a complete waste of money. They could be using that to FEED people on Thanksgiving instead.

Gary   November 24th, 2008 1:29 pm ET

Thank you for giving the Obamanites a break from their complaining how little their paychecks and how high the newest bling to come on the CNN forums and cheer their hero.

Face it, Palin put Hillary on the back burner, permanently. I will laugh until I'm crying if she declines Obama cabinet nod.

Independent Fred   November 24th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Don't know who's at fault but Palin didn't run a positive uplifting campaign at all. She appealed to the lunatic fringe of her party.

Don't think it's all her fault though her job was attack dog.

Sherri   November 24th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Stop insulting President Reagan. He would never have chosen this unqualified person as a running mate. It seems that this organization has money to burn in these hard economic times. Instead of more Palin nonsense, why don't they donate the $50,000 to a local homeless shelter or to a program supporting teen mothers? Shame on them.

AW, Indianapolis   November 24th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

According to the website of the Our Country Deserves Better PAC, their one objective was to defeat Obama in the 2008 presidential election. It's over, so why are they stirring this emotion now?

Didn't they incite enough fear and hatred in Michigan on their "cross-country tour" during the election to feel accomplished?

Douglas, Los Angeles California   November 24th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Here we are, a nation in dire need of leadership and direction as we have been off base for 8 years now. With that, we have these people who started a "Stop Obama" campaign. Being president of the United States is serious business. To continue to campaign for Governor Palin instead of getting behind the candidate that actually won the election is pretty sad.

Selling jets on ebay for America   November 24th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Wow, watch the DNC "change" crowd get all in a tizzy over this.
Even as Obama essentially re-installs the entire Clinton cabinet.

So much for change.

Jake   November 24th, 2008 1:28 pm ET

Yes, thank you Sarah Palin for making a complete fool of yourself and tanking McCain's campaign. Way to go. Trophy's in the mail. Oh, and thank you for praying that the best candidate will win. God apparently made his choice… :P

Barb   November 24th, 2008 1:27 pm ET

It is quite scary to know there are people out there that in this economic situation are spending money on Palin's ads. They should be the christian they claim to be and donate that money to feed the so many Americans that cannot put food on their table.

SJC   November 24th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

I agree with the comparison between Reagan and Palin. Both were/are shallow ideologues whose approach to appealing to the public was/is by repeating short simple minded slogans. Reagan did it a lot better than Palin because he was a practiced actor who had a sense of drama. But neither offered any in-depth insight on any important issue. Reagan had very few press conferences and usually responded to adhoc questions by putting his hand to his ear feigning deafness. Palin just rambles. Republicans seem to love this model of leadership. Others in this mold were Ford, Quayle, George Allen and Fred Thompson.

RJinchi   November 24th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

I too would like to thank Palin – for without her John may have won a few more votes for the GOP. She ensured a loss and I would like to personally give a great big thank you to Sarah Palin for giving the election to the Dems!

beevee   November 24th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

Who are these idiots and what age they are living in? Grow up Palin would be a disaster as President and that was the biggest mistake of otherwise a very good McCain.

Scott   November 24th, 2008 1:26 pm ET

As a devoted Democrat, I would ask wingnuts to continue to keep Sarah Palin in the news. She is a dream come true for us on the left.

Irma in North Carolina   November 24th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

I dont why any one wants to bother with this woman she was a disgrace to the lower 48 when she was compaining she held nothing but hate rallys the republicans thought it was great and they thought they would win the election. With her hate rallys she endangered the life of Obama. But as Sarah would say it was a task from God to Let her and Mccain loose the elections The best thing for her is stay in Alaska and continue to comunicate with her Minister that practise witchcraft.

andrew   November 24th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

please please please!!! let the nit wit run again. she is so foolish and insecure it will be great to have the comedy hr return to watch her on the capign trail alomg with the first dud and rest of the kids who dont have a clue that their mom is a ding dong

ConsciousAmerican   November 24th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

Why doesn't PAC formulate an agenda for Sarah Palin, therefore helping her to speak with some sort of relevance. They are wasting $ and time with this type of garbage.

Tina, FL   November 24th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

The only thing Sarah Palin inspired me to do was to turn my back on the GOP for the first time in my life. I'm still very nervous about O's ability to turn this country around but Sarah Palin and John McCain would most definitely have been the death knell.

DT   November 24th, 2008 1:25 pm ET

I am a woman and fairly conservative and that woman does not represent me!!!!! Go AWAY!!! Maybe you should feed some hungry people over Thanksgiving instead of wasting money on election ads AFTER the election.

MaryanneAZ   November 24th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Give us all a break already! That woman is a disaster in high heels. If she's your best bet for a candidate in 2012, then I would not donate too much to that campaign. She can only carry the 20% base of the former Republican Party. No one seriously believes she is a legitimate candidate for 2012. She could hardly utter a sentence that was not a lie or distortion. And forget about basic English skills and depth of knowledge.

Patricia T.   November 24th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

"Positive and up-lifting" are just not the first words that come to mind when one thinks of Sarah Paln. Uninformed, simplistic, divisive — those seem more accurate. What she brought to the Republican ticket and what she brings to public life now — it's beyond me why people remain interested in and supportive of someone who was so woefully unprepared to deal with the very serious problems facing our country. Fake patriotic rhetoric peppered with "you betcha" just won't do it. Please, Gov. Palin — just stay in Alaska and try to do the job you've been hired for — instead of pretending to be qualified for the job you're apparently looking ahead to. God help us!

MN-Charlotte, NC   November 24th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Let the fringe annoint Palin — who cares! She lost every demographic that matters in the election, so I can only hope that she's the GOP standard-bearer. We are living with the consequences of electing her male counterpart of equally low intellectual curiosity and far right wing ideology. We're not going back there. Ever.

xargaw   November 24th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Don't these people realize that what is happening today with the financial crisis is Reaganomics come to fruition. Reaganomics and Conservatism has failed. Dismantling structure and turning everything over to the private sector, ala Reagan, is what caused this mess. The simple slogans of the GOP coupled with moral outrage about things government has no business even being concerned with have no audience anymore with most Americans. No wonder the map is turning bluer with each election.

BeefyDaddy   November 24th, 2008 1:24 pm ET

Is this an Onion article? Are these people serious? Palin is a complete and utter idiot. She is a joke. She is a travesty. She wouldn't know a true conservative value if she tracked it in a helicopter and shot it. She is a divisive, mean-spirited talking point. She doesn't even understand what she parrots! She'll scream the extreme fundamentalist rhetoric for you, if that is what you want, but otherwise, please let's focus on more important issues. ENOUGH of the old politics of hate!!! Move on!

Erik on Wall St.   November 24th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

Sarah Palin will be the destruction of the Republican party. Too bad they are not smart enough to realize this and keep this nit-wit far far away from the spotlight!

brenda   November 24th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

obama is no lincoln, no kennedy. hes no one until he gets into office and makes his own way. then we can say he is another carter.

DAVID, FL   November 24th, 2008 1:23 pm ET

Palin needs to focus on her state which has alot of problems. She is so full of herself that maybe she should just leave Alaska. Comparing her to Reagan is like saying George Bush was the greatest President ever. American does not need Palin. Anyone who supports her, is supporting somebody who cares only about herself and friends. America has many problems and Palin will only add to it. Palin needs to see the world and understand it before anyone can take her seriously in a high profile government office thats not in Alaska. My money is on Palin leaving Alaska and becoming a Governor somewhere else in the US.

WOW they're DUMB   November 24th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

Nice that they are running $50,000 in ads instead of putting the money to good use. No one cares about the idiot from Alaska anymore…

Dan   November 24th, 2008 1:22 pm ET

They lost, get over it. She's the reason they lost and won't be the reason they win in 2012. This shows the Republicans have not learned from the mistakes of their campaign. In other words, "are you freaking kidding me?"

Thomas   November 24th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Excuse me, Mr. Russo…did you really say that Sarah Palin fought for "common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner"? Are you serious? The Sarah Palin I observed was negative, abrasive and just plain obnoxious.

Sam   November 24th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Seriously, I can tell you that I see so many similarities between ex-Senator Ted Stevens and Governor Palin.

LOL.

Charles Douglas Lemay   November 24th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

It's so funny to listen to all the libs rip Sarah apart.

I'm old enough to remember when they did exactly that to a guy
named Ronald Reagan.

You see how that worked out, don't you?

Remember her, when all your Loony Left schemes fall apart…

Steven Celestin   November 24th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Wow, what a wonderful economy we're all prospering in, that $50,000 just happens to be available for praising the most ill-prepared and hypocritical VP or Presidential candidate in American history. WHAT?

Mike, California   November 24th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

Palin, have you no decency?

Same goes to you CNN, and perhaps the rest of us commenting to these type of irrelevant "news".

Patrick Carroll   November 24th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

These folks clearly have no idea how bitter they seem. Pathetic.

Chris, Alaska   November 24th, 2008 1:21 pm ET

I'm sick and tired of the Sarah Palin photo op's. It's high time Sarah Palin gets back to the business Alaskans elected her for–being Governor of Alaska.

And if you no longer want to be Governor, Sarah, resign. Let's get someone in who can and will do the job.

No Hillary = No Obama   November 24th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Obama will turn out to be a 1-term President.

Porchnik   November 24th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

Palin inspired angry white GED recipients all across this land. With enough botox and slimfast, she has a real shot in 2012.

Really?   November 24th, 2008 1:20 pm ET

PAC should be ashamed of themselves of wasting that kind of money on advertising when so many people are losing their homes and food off their tables. If they want to show their praise for Sarah Palin make a donation in her name to the food pantry's across America and the Animal Shelters. $50,000 would feed alot of people and sheltered animals.

Soccer mom from Manhattan   November 24th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

Please go away already! Talk about wearing out a welcome.

MikeW   November 24th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

And I guess common sense convservative principles are stupidity, lying, and thievery!

Sarah who?   November 24th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

The election is over and Palin's platform was baseless. It is quite natural for the 'Thank you' ads to run in Alaska. Sure, she had an 80% percent approval rating IN ALASKA. But Alaska doesn't represent the cross-section of America. Sarah Palin belongs in Alaska, and she needs to remain there. Many stated that Eleanor Roosevelt had a 'nerve recking' voice. Sarah Palin's voice is far from that. If she is the leader of the Republican party comes 2012, I feel sorry for the Republicans. I am an Independent and this country is moving more towards the middle and is becoming more inclusive. Keep the thank you ads to Sarah Palin in Alaska. Quite frankly, Sarah Palin is an afterthought and this country is ready to move forward.

Brandon from WI   November 24th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

As a Democrat I am so glad about this. Please continue to promote Sarah Palin as much as possible. I can only hope that she is the future of the Republicans, so that they never get into office again. She represented all of the divisiveness and repugnancy of modern politics. She was like a sad version of Karl Rove in drag. Except she was pretty. A Barbie doll with a hollow heart to match.

jabreu203   November 24th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

I'm sure there are a few schools in Alaska and other parts of the country that can use the money that these ads costing. Just goes to show you how out of touch the republicans are with any but their self-absorption.

Adam   November 24th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

wow, anyone think she can keep campaigning until 2012 and then lose again. She's more annoying than Billy Mayes and those free credit commercials combined but at least those commercials are completely lying to you!

JH Seattle WA   November 24th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

Will someone please inform Palin that she lost. The election is over. This is just sad.

If they want to further the causes they believe in then I can think of a lot of better ways to do so with the money they are wasting.

2012 is a long ways off… all this feels like to me is them caring more about one person then trying to help the entire country. FYI folks… this election wasn't about Palin.

HJHaney   November 24th, 2008 1:19 pm ET

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner,"

Sarah Palin has no common sense. She did not run a positive, uplifting campaign. She ran a shameful, dirty, mud-slinging typically Republican campaign of smears and outright lies. And she did it with a smile. If this is all the Republicans have to offer then they are finished as a serious political party. She is as close to a moron as you can get. Borderline retarded.

Doug   November 24th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

"Positive and Uplifting" what campain were these people watching? Should be "Negative and Belittling". Best of luck to you Sarah, but unfortunately there are bigger toads in the swamp you linger in.

Please make it stop!   November 24th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

Please don't play this commercial in CT; it's been so nice not having to listen to her rants that made absolutely no sense. I just wish that all news media woud 'turn her off'. We're over it.

colleen ferrara   November 24th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

I'm all for that group that wants to secede form the "lower 48″. Maybe then we won't have to hear from her or about her anymore. At least those who are so supportive of her give me a clue as to their "thinking", so I can beware of them.

Don   November 24th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

I think both parties better start looking at common since politics instead of what is good for there party. Wake up America and smell the roses.

Dave in Maine   November 24th, 2008 1:18 pm ET

I hope they go national because that image makes me want to see just how bad the production values are on this ad.

And I love how they tout the moose as a turkey alternative. Doesn't anyone care about the moose?

Palin is the gift that keeps on giving. I pray the GOP puts her up in 2012 so we have even more comedy four years from now.

Nate in Seattle   November 24th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

Go away Sarah Palin! Why is she demanding so much press, go back to Alaska and be quiet!

c2   November 24th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

Why is this story even here?

Charlie W   November 24th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

Sarah has my vote.

HarryB   November 24th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

There are actually similarities between Reagan and Sarah Palin….they're both brain dead!

Yes we can!   November 24th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

GO AWAY!

But thanks for the interviews that easily put Obama in the Whitehouse!!!

CBH, in CA   November 24th, 2008 1:16 pm ET

Please, just leave us alone, Mrs. Palin. Your interviews are disturbingly annoying. Your ads are painful. I'm sure you can find things to in Alaska.

longhorns4life   November 24th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

i thought spending $150,000 on her wardrobe was a waste of money…this surpases that by a mile

Iowa Mom   November 24th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

What a bunch of right-winded wackos. No wonder they support Palin.

Anonymous   November 24th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

Palin' around with terrorists is positive and uplifting? Please.

Hey, if Repubs want to spend their money promoting a candidate who just lost, feel free. Not exactly the best use of money right now.

mj   November 24th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

I am amazed that anyone would find this woman remotely competent. She really is funny and attractive and would be great as a superficial talk show host or something but to imagine her running a country is very frightening. I think the more publicity she gets, the more incompetent she appears and her supporters look extremely ignorant. There are so many intelligent republicans that could help the party but she is just not one of them. I also think that she is more interested in publicity than in truly helping the country or even being informed about national or international affairs.

Justin   November 24th, 2008 1:15 pm ET

what did she do in an uplifting manner? she's a moron. she may be the governor of alaska but she's not qualified to be the mayor here in Dallas. if she ever ends up in a major national political office, we're screwed.

the moose she puts in her chili has more brains than she does. if the republicans run her as their candidate in 2012, they will be handing the election over to the democrats. please do it, we'll take a gimme.

change has come   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

they should donate that moey to the auto business where it will have better use.

John S.   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

When will Palin's 15 minutes of fame end? Looks like it won;t as logn as the media still thinks she is a 'story'.

I am convinced beyond a doubt that Palin could NEVER have won a governorship in the other 49 states…

james faulks   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

Palin was the reason I refrained from voting. Until McCain picked her, he had my vote.

BP   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

I'm not sure slandering your opponent in the campaign is such a "positive manner." Sounds more like negative attacks to me.

BC   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

So, let me figure this one out – the election is over, she lost, and they're still running campaign ads? Talk about fighting the last war. If the GOP has any desire to save itself, they have to start looking at the future (or maybe the present for a start). Or it could be that they just want to be irrelevant in the 21st century.

G_in_Seattle   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

Please God,

Let Gov. Palin be the GOP nominee in 2012, 2016 and 2020.Presidential campaigns will never be the same again without her.

willie   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

Has anyone visited the Moms4SarahPalin Web site recently? It contains some of the most mean-spirited stuff about the election that I can imagine. It even blames the stock market crash & recession on Obama – because he was elected. Fools! That all started before Obama was even known to be the candidate.

Harry   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

Sarah Palin,

Go away already! You are a failure and a idiot. Able to name Katie a Supreme Court Case or a Newspaper you read yet?

Do the United States a favor and get lost!

JFGinOKC   November 24th, 2008 1:14 pm ET

Actually, I think those of us who voted for Obama should join in and thank Ms. Palin for her unique contributions to our success in on November 4. She was a major factor in winning Democratic seats in Congress as well.

I think she's destined for a fine career in Hollywood, where she can bask in a spotlight that's all hers.

Brandon   November 24th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Don't they realize Palin was half the problem on that ticket? lol

bethi in alaska   November 24th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

These guys are apparently not too smart, not only for praising an empty woman like Palin, but for wasting their time and money up here in Alaska. Not only will Palin likely lose a re election bid, but it is questionable whether she will last her first term.SHE HAS DONE NOTHING FOR THIS STATE UNLESS IT BENEFITS HER PERSONALLY.Soon the details of this "Trans-Canada" mess she has gotten us into will be coming out and these ignorant folks @ PAC will at least be right about one thing:Palin likes Moose stew—and I guess for them that is adequate criteria to deem her qualified.

LS West Chester, PA   November 24th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Are you kidding me?! Sarah Palin was the most negative candidate on the campaign trail. I don't understand why people want such mediocrity in our government. Just because you think she is just like you, doesn't make her qualified to be president. A degree in journalism after going to 5 different schools, certainly doesn't make her qualified.

Conservative James, Phoenix, AZ   November 24th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

Yes, thank you Sarah Palin for making it easier for millions of
Americans to make up their minds to vote for Barack Obama.

I think the Katie Couric interview was the clincher.

Similarities with Ronald Reagan? You mean that Sarah Palin also equipped the Iraqi Army with enough weapons (including chemical) to kill one million Iranians?

Lisa in Fla   November 24th, 2008 1:13 pm ET

It is so comforting to know that Sarah is still a legend in her own mind!! Repugs are dumber than I even thought to think this whacko woman could be considered presidential material. What planet are they living on? Pah–leeze! Oh, I forgot, these are the same people who but Bush in the White House…..twice and we are all seeing how well that worked out. Don't forget this is the guy who bankrupted his own oil company…and this is the women who shoots wolves from airplanes and gives interviews with turkey's being killed in the background. God Bless the USA!!

Arlene, Illinois   November 24th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

The GOP keeps the name Ronald Regan alive, I only
remember him as the guy who fired all the Air Traffic controlers!

Danny, OH   November 24th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

common sense for Alaska and Conservatives of course. For somebody who has lost his/her job or home due to this incompetent administration, I don't think so.
Only in fools paradise. Dream on Republican!!!!!

Proud to be American   November 24th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Well Sarah…….so much for joining with President Elect Obama to get this country on the right track. Clearly your supporters don't agree.
These radical groups will put the final nail in Sarah's "National" political expectations.

Blue Nevada   November 24th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

And the point of this would be…? Ohh yes.. more money wasting by the Repubs. Maybe the next pro-Palin ad will feature her in some of those designer duds she was going to give to charity…

TrumpThumper   November 24th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

Seriously?!? There are alot of charities out there that could use that money, and these bone-heads want to thank Sarah – for what exactly? Oh yeah, for losing both the popular and the electoral vote – in a landslide. Give the money to help some kid's with some horrific disease. Maybe pick one that stem cells could have cured, if only the conservative far right would have let Bush sign that bill into law. Palin is the past…..and soon so is Bush. (Que the applause sign)

Anonymous   November 24th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner"

Say WHAT? The woman HAS NO common sense! How could she be fighting FOR common sense principles?

Come on, folks. This woman made Bush look like he belonged in MENSA by comparison, and I never thought I'd be able to say that given Bush's lack of intelligence.

Sue   November 24th, 2008 1:12 pm ET

If it weren't so scary that these people are serious, it would be funny.

Real Change   November 24th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

Common since principles in a possitive and uplifting manner!? What campaign was this watching. The rest of us were watching the one where Sarah did nothing but run around linking Obama to terrorists, and saying you don't have good values unless you agree with her.

As a confirmed Democrat I say keep it up Sarah. The more attention there is on you the more likely people are to remember what they didn't like about the last few years.

And oh yeah…Governor…you're no Ronald Regan.

Spencer/NY to VA   November 24th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

These people can't be serious. Her 15 minutes are up and the GOP is dead.

mark   November 24th, 2008 1:10 pm ET

Saying Sarah Palin campaigned in a positive manner is a joke. She purposefully or accidentally encouraged hate speech and was always being sarcastic and bitterly Partisan. A 68 year old Christian woman in our church commented after hearing Sarah Palin speak, "She doesn't sound very 'Christian' does she"…

America demands answers   November 24th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

Wow is this to sell Gov Sara Failin to us or to some foreign country? Isnt the election over with? Thanks Palin for showing us who you really are on couric interview we still have it ok.

KB   November 24th, 2008 1:09 pm ET

What a waste of money! Why not donate it to charity?

SOOOOO tired of Palin   November 24th, 2008 1:08 pm ET

AHHHHHHH. Give the money to a good charity instead. There are plenty of homeless people who could use a good meal or kids who could use a bit of cheer. What a total waste of money. What's the wooden spoon for? Cooking up some moose? What an oxymoron of a concept? Applauding a woman who used her kids to her political advantage? Isn't this the person who cared more about her political rise than the good of the Republican Party? PLEASE>>>>>give it a rest. Spare us the pain of the wooden spoon!

Ex-Republican for Obama   November 24th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

"I worked with President Ronald Reagan since his first days in the California Governor’s Office, and I can tell you that I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin."

What similarities? Ahh…right, those…the failed policies that come back to haunt you 20 years later. Thanks for the warning dude!

What morons those millions of people are. Sad to think we have that many idiots in our country! The neocon freaks that flock to Palin will be the death of the Republican Party! Many republicans just can't stand the religious freaks clinging to their ridiculous idealogies. Who cling to their rights but are all to eager to control someone elses body, freedom, liberties and patriotism. They are vile and unsavory, miserable human beings. Hypocrites, the whole lot of them!

Milhouse van Houten   November 24th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Can someone please tell me why this woman is still in the news?Never have I ever witnessed a more insignificant person from public service garner the attention that Ms.Palin has received. She left no doubt in anyones mind during the campaign that she is absolutely
unqualified for the national stage and only her ego is keeping her from
admitting that fact to herself.I'm afraid that her continued presence and
those that seek to keep her there are just another sign of the success
in the dumbing down process.

Michael   November 24th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Every step that's taken to make her look like a serious politician of substance results in a two step retreat. She needs to spend the next three years in a library if she wants to be taken seriously at a later date.

Bill   November 24th, 2008 1:07 pm ET

Why don't they just come out and say that on Thanksgiving we should only eat the white meat on the turkey?

Eric W   November 24th, 2008 1:05 pm ET

I'm not sure I see the point of this Ad. Don't these people realize Ms. Palin, while very personable, dragged down the GOP ticket with independents and conservative moderates?

I can not really believe that the people on this ad are serious. If they took time to listen to what Sarah Palin, is saying, I can't think that would actually vote for her. This lady has no idea of what is happening in the lower US, let alone the rest of the world. She needs much education on world policies and locations; inorder to be a serious candidate for any office other than the Governor of Alaska.

karen-phoenix   November 24th, 2008 1:04 pm ET

The women has NOTHING to do with conservatisum!!! She doesn't even know what the word means!!! Look at the way she lives and who she has lived off of. AND she no sense of education!!! Her kids are all high school drop outs!!! NO MORE PALIN!!!! And after that fiasco with the turkeys, how can anyone even look at this women!!!!!
Palin, stay home and try to raise the rest of your family in a direction of a quality education or they will ALL windup in Iraq!!!

adon08   November 24th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

Pretty sad.. The woman was not in any way qualified to be president or vice-president for that matter. I understand the she had a "folksy" personality. As a woman and an independent, I don't think that is enough to make someone president. There has to be some kind of preparation for that role which includes knowledge of issues that face the world and the country outside of Alaska and being able to communicate them effectively.

She has 4 years to prepare herself with the knowledge she needs. I think the issue she is going to face is she has already made a first impression. It is a big hurdle to overcome since that impression is was not good.

Va for Obama   November 24th, 2008 1:03 pm ET

I wonder how much money they paid to all those idiots in the ad! What a bunch of fools! I have a couple of republican friends, but I'm very sad that being a republican now becomes something that tells you "idiot" right away, something anti-intellectual.

LyonsPhilly   November 24th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

You've got to be kidding me. The country is in debt and these clowns are paying for Thank You Ads for Sarah Palin. What the hell are they thanking her for? Almost starting a race riot, making a complete joke out of the Republican party, continuous run-on stupid sentences, or the fact she referred to our President Elect as palling around with terrorists.

I'm a woman and very proud of women that work hard to get ahead but feel that Sarah Palin does not deserve Thank you ads. They should have spent that money teaching her how to conduct interviews and work on being more knowledgeable when it comes to our nation and the government. It's really a shame that the PAC is only sponsoring this person because an African American won the presidency. Get over it….

Ken in NC   November 24th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Yeah, "Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles" like pardoning one Turkey and watching on national TV while "The Not So Lucky Turkey" is slaughtered.

I really hope she runs again in 2012 so President elect Obama will have a "Cake Walk" for reelection.

Lorna, NY   November 24th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

Vicki5   November 24th, 2008 1:01 pm ET

They can try to re-write history all they want. They're wasting their money and their time. Perhaps it will keep them busy running in circles and give those of us who really have common sense a break.

And the election is long over, why can't that woman get the heck off my TV screen like McCain had the taste and decency to do? I don't wish her ill, I just wish she would get back to her day job in Alaska and stop mugging for the perpetual spotlight like a third-rate starlet trying to make a comeback after a nasty divorce and rehab. Enough already!

TangoDancer   November 24th, 2008 12:58 pm ET

What is the point of this ad campaign? This PAC is certainly not spending $ just to say thank you to Sarah Palin for being a good conservative. Is the ultimate agenda a 2012 presidential campaign for the governor of Alaska?

Yes. Thanks Palin. For helping put Obama in the White House.

Thanks for making me laugh Sarah, like I tell my GOP friends "Sarah" maybe very good looking but she is sure lacking in alot of other areas, like BRAINS…..

It's a shame that PAC would spend all that money on pro-Palin ads. The race is over, she lost BIG TIME! Get over it and get back to being governor in Alaska. At this point the only thing Palin can do to savage her politial career is to be a good governor and good mom. Stop running around the country trying to plead your case and others need to do the same. Sarah Palin is a big girl, she wanted the national spot light and she got it! The McCain camp chose her and now do not want anything else to do with her including McCain. This is what happen when things are done with the wrong motives. She is paying for all the devisiness she brought to the campaign trail. I think Sarah Palin is getting exactly what she deserves and if there is negative attention that is wrongly brought onto her, well she deserves that too! All I can say is God does not like ugly and it is ironic that the hole she and others were trying to dig for Obama, they fell in it themselves! REPENT!

Repugs are always finding creative ways to waste time and money by annoying others.

It is indeed an insult to Ronald Reagan to compare him in any way to Sarah Palin. Reagan was a thoughful man with tremendous vision of people and world events. Palin has demonstrated no such intellect or ability. Reagan was a savior to the Republican Party, Palin will be its demise.

Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner,"

Quit lying…..!
