Pro-Palin 'thank you' ads hit the airwaves

A pro-Palin ad campaign hits the airwaves this week.
A pro-Palin ad campaign hits the airwaves this week.

(CNN) - Election Day was three weeks ago, but political ads praising former Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin are still hitting the airwaves.

The Our Country Deserves Better PAC has begun running spots in Alaska - two 60-second ads, and two 30-second versions — that pay tribute to Palin, with plans to expand the ad buy to the rest of the country sometime this week.

"Governor Palin inspired millions of Americans by fighting for common sense conservative principles in a positive and uplifting manner," chief strategist Sal Russo said in a statement. "I worked with President Ronald Reagan since his first days in the California Governor’s Office, and I can tell you that I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin."

The 60-second Thanksgiving-themed spot — which comes days after footage of a Palin interview on a turkey farm hit the airwaves — also points to the Alaska governor's fondness for moose chili as a turkey alternative.

The PAC - which sponsored the "Stop Obama Now" bus tour during the campaign season - said it plans to spend at least $50,000 airing the ads in Alaska. It has not yet released details of the ad buy on national broadcast and cable networks.

My, my, my,.....Ronald Regan must be hop-scotching in his grave for comparing this idiot Governor Sarah Dump Palin to him. This is an insult. The less we hear of her the better offf we would be. She's just like a cancer that doesn't want to go away.

She doesn't have to keep any promise, because she doesn't have any what-so-ever. Just drop out of school rhetorics and no substances.

Palin is truly a joke. The GOP strategists should be ashamed of trying to promote her as Reagan-like. RIDICULOUS.

I'm happy that the majority of people in Alaska and the conservative base took a liking to Sarah Palin when McCain announced his VP pick, but that begs the question 'Why?'. Other than the fact that God, or at least her God, speaks to her and guides her, what divine purpose does Palin have for this country? If the GOP and their base has anything to say about Palin's political future it will be divide, scare, and conquer.

Please, please, please Republicans, please keep pushing Palin. I really don't think these people understand how "out of touch" she is with the American public. If the Republicans move in this direction, their time in the wilderness will be longer than most people think right now.

    Please keep pushing Palin

There was absolutely NOTHING uplifiting or positive about the way Palin ran her campaign. She lied and smeared her way through her time in the spotlight. The only thank you I have for Sarah Palin is "thank you for finally shutting the hell up!"

Yeah baby, spend all those dollars after the election! Then we won't have to watch your ads during the next campaign cycle. They must have hired their financial advisors from Lehman Brothers!

Wow, what a waste of money. Fools. And what's this attempt to rewrite history and say she ran an "uplifting and positive" campaign? Are you kidding me? She was the most viscious and negative campaigner in any election I can remember.

And, please, stop the comparisons to Reagan. She was no Reagan, not even close.

Hurray for those people who stand up for Sarah Palin. I join them in thanking her for all her efforts, moral standards and wonderful family. We KNOW the race is over. If they want to spend their money on Sarah, good for them. They don't need to give it to charity......don't you remember Obama is going to take care of you!! If you don't want to watch, turn the TV off......isn't that what you liberals are always telling us? She is no longer under McCain's campaign's thumb. Let the rest of us love her and celebrate her for who she is. If you don't like it......well, too bad. If you didn't like her interviews,...get over it! She can say what she wants. I doubt any of you Sarah haters could run a great state like Alaska. You must lead such miserable lives that you have to put her down. Don't you liberals always preach "live and let live"? You just can't stand that she has it all.....beauty, intelligence, great husband/family and a great job she was ELECTED to. Deal with it!

The next logical step in the dumbing down of the Republican party. Pander to an ever shrinking pool of low information voters. How do you think a black man named Obama beat a war hero in the post 9/11 era? The next election could put the final nail in the Republican party. It's too bad, becuase this country needs a strong, intelligent conservative party.

While Ronald Reagan was not one of my favourite people, he was intelligent, thoughtful, and well-spoken. Sarah Palin has done nothing to be compared to him. She "governs" 600,000 people, for less than two years, and then is the second coming of Reagan?? She can't put a coherent sentence together (even when discussing cooking a turkey for heaven's sake!), she alienates others by insisting her way is the only way, and has no knowledge of the world. Yeah – excellent comparison.....

"...I see so many similarities between President Reagan and Governor Palin."

I see many similarities between President George Bush and Governor Palin: a mammoth lack of knowledge, a frightening oblivious to the situation around them and inability to put together coherent sentences.

But please, oh please, nominate her in 2012.

    Obama Repeat in 2012
