Obama cabinet vetting historically fast

Obama appears to be picking his cabinet at a record pace.

Obama appears to be picking his cabinet at a record pace.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President-elect Barack Obama is already making presidential history by naming - or at least his transition team is leaking to the press - his Cabinet picks faster than nearly all of his predecessors.

"If we do not act swiftly and boldly, most experts believe that we could lose millions of jobs next year," Obama said Monday.

With an economic crisis spiraling out of control and a lame duck in the oval office, presidential scholars say the next commander in chief simply had no choice.

Watch: Obama cabinet vetting process underway

"This is really unprecedented. But it's an unprecedented situation," said Larry Sabato, a presidential scholar at the University of Virginia. "Obama is doing what the public and the markets demand be done - and that is to show that the next president is really in charge before he even takes the oath of office."

That is what talking on the internet is for. Anywhere else, and most of the people on here would get a smack in the mouth.

i voted for CHANGE not the same old dynasty who makes millions with their same old speeches.. and collect money from none less than Bin laden's brother and the rest of the saudis..

It's about time that someone from this country can recoup the billions
of dollars that the Americans citizens got bilked out of from relying
on Saudi oil. He invested it in a Library to help EDUCATE our
people. Sounds like you need to go there !! Please google:

Ready to lead 60 days before "Day 1."

Obama is responsibly doing what can be done while still acknowledging there is a current President and team in place. Exceeding my high expectations.Something to be thankful for.

JuanM: You seem to be an Independent because you are not happy with both parties. You are already prognosticating Obama's tenure based on what is going on now and this is not healthy. "Be not anxious for the morrow – the morrow will take care of itself"! Happy Thanksgiving – Vaya con dios!

Like my bro told me, hopefully Nancy Pelosi is not going to send us $600.00 check. He rather not get it just to SAVE America from debt. Please supply food stamps and a bit of cash to put a roof over our head, but dont send $600.00 check. It's stupid!!! Think jobs!!! Think how do I stimualte the economy.... sending over $600.00 check for 350 million Americans is irrepsonsible.

By the way, you clowns that are questioning Obama's picks because they have experience. You are a bigger idiot than I thought.

Here is a lesson, 'Leadership 101'. Change comes from the leader not his subordinates. When you take over a failing company/country you don't fire everyone. You get rid of losers and keep the smart ones, then tell them how you want things done. If they don't do it, you get rid of them.
To republicans change means getting rid of everyone then hire a bunch of there buddies with zero experience to run the show. Then they watch things go down hill. Just like what happen in Iraq, FEMA and homeland security (if there ever was such a thing). bush got rid of the Iraq army. Leaving the country with no way of defending itself once the US left.(if they were ever planning on leaving) That army then became the enemy.
If you don't believe me the GOP wanted palin. LMAO

For the people who said you voted for change, that's what you got. Obama. Your vote had NOTHING to do with who he chooses for his cabinet. As a matter of fact, I'm willingly to be that most of you people never heard of the people he is putting in his cabinet, aside from a few faces. So he picks a few people, and I mean a few from the Clinton Administration and you guys go crazy. What do you want him to do, pick people from the Bush administration? You can't have it both ways!

Oh and btw, this message is for the Democrats/Independents who voted for Obama. The republicans won't like anything Obama does, no matter how good it is.

anonymous in Big D: You are obviously a very ignorant individual. Your view is not shared by the 47% of people that voted for the losing party. The majority of them do not share your lack of intelligence. It is however wise for you to remain anonymous. After all, it's what most cowards do.

I have the right to judge a man, or group of individuals, that tell me they know what is best for me, but those same individuals can't even pay the bills they are supposed to pay. They just print more money, tax more Americans, send their children to expensive private schools. Politicians are liars. Nothing more, nothing else. I'm sorry you have false hope in a democrat or republican. For me, I take responsibility for my family and don't rely on an ineffective government.

Change, half the cabinet is from Clinton's. Same old politician. By the way he is doing what every other PE has done in the past. The media is so bias, Obama says one word and kneel down the King has spoken. So far I am not impressed with his cabinet or decisions.

wow, this just goes to show that as long as hate and ignorance exist, so will racism. so many of you people who post the crap, i have been reading are the same cowards who don't have the intestinal fortitude to say this to a persons face. the same spineless cowards who love to talk when you are with about twenty friends but are at a loss for words by yourself.

Of course it's vetting fast, the only without any experience is Obama himself, everyone else in his new administration are old seasoned Clinton/Carter people.

Things are very bad in the Uk. In the news they said that the financial situation is as bad as it was 60 years ago. The woolworth chain of stores has gone in administration. People are losing their jobs fast. I am so sorry for Obama that he has become president of a bankrupt country. He will not be able to keep all his promises. At least his administration is an intelligent one and they will be able to soften the blows. I think that this is all that he will be able to do. People in America have to hold hands together , work hard, help their president to save their country. There is no time for all the racists abuse. Each country is now fighting hard to stop their country from spiralling even further down the drain. In Europe they are beginning to worry that Obama will put America first rather than look at what the rest of the world want. To bloggers who worry about the racists, do not waste your time. They will not change. In some families this sort of things happens too slowly. This is the result of lack of education. The smart ones like Limbaugh make money out of their ignorance. So they play the game to eran millions.

They should take $100 Billion of the bailout money that was approved by Congress and set up a program for homeowners to apply for the amount of their individual mortgages to be paid off. The only mortgage that this could be used for would be the primary residence, not for landlords to pay off rental properties, only primary homes.
Then allow each homeowner to pay the principle amount that was being paid to the bank (with no interest/taxes/insurance) to the government.
This would help the economy, because it would allow the banks to stop foreclosing on homes, it would allow the homeower to stop taking from their mortgage payments to pay other bills and the outrageous prices for gas without having to skip other bills.

  24. No Hillary = No Obama

Why is Obama reminding everyone that he won with 53% of the vote? Is this what we can expect, someone who needs their ego feed all the time while trying to convince everyone he's humble or has a "sense of humility". Just do the job and keep your ego shut.
