Obama team reacts to Mumbai attacks

Obama’s transition team reacted to the shootings in Mumbai.
Obama’s transition team reacted to the shootings in Mumbai.

(CNN) - The Obama Transition team's chief national security spokesperson, Brooke Anderson, released a statement late Wednesday reacting to the attacks in Mumbai, India:

"President-Elect Obama strongly condemns today's terrorist attacks in Mumbai, and his thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the people of India. These coordinated attacks on innocent civilians demonstrate the grave and urgent threat of terrorism. The United States must continue to strengthen our partnerships with India and nations around the world to root out and destroy terrorist networks. We stand with the people of India, whose democracy will prove far more resilient than the hateful ideology that led to these attacks.”

    On second thought -–
Griff – you obviously are cooking your brain cells with booze or drugs – what a shame you are to this country.

I hope the rest of the world doesn't think we're all like you.

Won't it be wonderful to actually have a statesman in the White House. Obama will truly reach out to the world and make America respected again.

Griff are you a child or an adult? Because your posts are quite immature and illiterate that, as an elementary school teacher, I believe you are in about the second grade? This is a terrible tragedy for the people of India and the Western hostages. Instead of throwing stones, we should be thankful to live in the U.S. of A. I am proud that PE Obama is preparing to "hit the ground running" on January 20th. Heaven knows we need strong leadership. America needs to heal...and we have to start with each other.

    Hi MommaSchell,
You are right. If you notice , all the bloggers who try to hate Mr.Obama are waiting for a response, action from Mr. Obama.... Not from their favorite highly idiotic Bush. They know very well Bush cannot do anything.
I think, Bush would probably take an other vacation if you ask him what he is going to do about this

Innocent human beings are being killed by the senseless act of depraved, evil minded people. These terrorists are an insult to the world and all of mankind. To think that killing people and destroying the buildings where people live and work can somehow be a worthy cause is the most despicable sort of human behavior ever done in the history of the world. It’s just plain evil. I cannot even begin to describe my utter contempt for these terrorist thugs. They are the worst of humanity. They have no humanity.

    Dear idjits,

Obama's supposed to do what now? He's not president yet. This is still Bush's bailiwick.

You people who are deriding President-Elect Obama for not doing something to prevent a terrorist attack in India are clearly the most uneducated, stupid, and ignorant people I've ever seen. And I thought I'd seen enough of them during 8 years of Bush Crime Family actions.

Instead of showing us just how ignorant you are, why don't you ignorant right-wingers just STFU and maybe think about the horrific events that are hurting ALL the people of Mumbai. Get your heads out of your right-wing arses and wake up!

  23. Change Will Not Be Fast

The latest news on CNN is that PRESIDENT BUSH and his staff are in contact with President Elect Obama and his staff to keep him apprised of the situation. Obama is NOT president yet and cannot do anything other than make a statement, which he has already done.

I don't know what the negative thinkers expect of him. He cannot do anything until he is sworn in, but in my eyes, in the past two weeks, he has conducted himself as THE most Presidential person that I can ever remember. Thank God he is the next leader of this country.

Change will not be quick and it will not be easy, but it is coming. How about showing support instead of derision? All that does is keep this country stuck in the muck and mire where it has been for far too long. Channel the negativity into doing something positive – it might make you feel better.

George W. Bush IS President of the United States UP TO AND UNTIL January 20, 2009 - it is HIS responsibility to lead this nation until that time. President Elect Obama seems to be doing all he can in preparation for Day One and beyond. I don't ever remember a President Elect who has done as much and will be as ready as Obama.

  25. Lost in Texas FOREVER

It seems as though one thing the far right Obama haters here have in common is that they are NOT very bright! In case you didn't know it the lady who wished we had voted the McCain/Palin ticket, well they both would have about as much power as Obama has right now....DUH! Why not just ask Gov Palin what to do then?

As my grandmother used to say about such statements "BE CAREFUL, your STUPID is showing!!"
