This kind of mistake happens all the time. Poor Bush cannot undo the disastrous mistakes of the past, but most of us voted for him at least once, probably twice, though most of us don't seem to remember it now.

As a proud citizen of Texas, I voted against him four times. Twice for Texas Governor and twice for President. George Bush has the incredible ability to defeat opponents who were superb public servants and who were head and shoulders above him on every dimension of measurement. He defeated Ann Richards, who might have become America's first female president otherwise. He did not defeat Al Gore, but he somehow was inaugurated anyway.

He is the luckiest man alive, with the possible exception of William Shatner.

I am hopeful that the remainder of Bush's term will be a great success, as every American hopes for every President.

It's the intent that really counts. While I am a fierce critic of George W. Bush's Presidency, there was no intent here to offend anyone and none was taken. With that said, this was sloppiness and it shouldn't have happened. Doesn't someone double-check these kinds of things?

The United States does not believe in Christ – US CONSTITUTION duh. As for religion I see no dead man on this card or pyramids showing slaves whipped. While this was probably an honest mistake if there is any honesty left in that "White" Evil House, it is important we come together and not divide. If you want to worship burnt offerings or dead people, it is not my business. I am more concerned " ALL of our BELIEFS" have been used in vain. Mexican treated like horses not citizens, the worst corporate theft in man's history, our world getting warmer by the year regardless if its oil or cows poop, healthcare, education, home values, jobs, respect around the world, and a tear for the world.

Let us find a way to come together because I would rather love my neighbor than be in Nazi World. Look for the good and not the bad and let this next guy who seems to be able to say three words without screwing it up see if he can run the world better than the WWW orst president ever.....AFLACCCK

Is that a pic of the card? You can barely see the tree, its not yet a 'Christmas' tree but a simple pine being dragged in the corner. Its not the center or even prominant in the pic. Can't even see the wreath they mentioned. So what? Just looks like a winter sceen of the Whote House. The intended card does sound nice though

Anyone who thinks that Christmas trees are Christian does not know their history or the Bible very well. Evergreen and its use in winter solstice celebrations is distinctly Pagan/Celtic. In fact the Bible declares that it is wrong to use evergreen during the winter for celebration. They are trees, not a manger or an angel, a cross or a baby Jesus with Mary. Those folks who are upset should consider that real issue here is the ignorance of our own people.

Who cares. Jewish people know that the President is a Christian and celebrates Christmas....so why the big deal over a Xmas tree.

I doubt very seriously they'd be offended. My bosses are orthodox jews, and they like Christmas music. lol They tell stories about when they were kids, they used to love to go to friends houses b/c they had christmas trees and presents and lights, etc... It's interesting for them even though they don't celebrate.

This is a non-issue.

To those of you who think that this is no big deal, and that people should just "get over it", consider this: If a Jewish person sent out Hannukah themed cards to Christians, the mainstream Christians would be outraged (I can just imagine Pat Robertson, Sean Hannity, and James Dobson right now).

So why is it okay for Christians to be hateful and intolerant toward non-Christians, but not the other way around?

A staffer prints out a tree-picture on a card, and we act like the world is over. I am no fan of Bush, but frankly, if he is paying attention to holiday cards instead of paying attention to the big crises (economic problems, terror attacks in Mumbai, increases in sectarian violence in Iraq, genocide in Darfur), then we would have a serious dereliction of duty.

A staffer screwed up and nobody died because of it. Ok, let's move on to the more important news.
