Rove says Obama economic team 'reassuring'

Rove praised Obama's economic team.

(CNN) - President-elect Barack Obama is drawing early praise from former top Bush-aide Karl Rove.

Rove, widely credited with orchestrating President Bush's two successful presidential campaigns, writes in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that Obama has assembled a "first rate" economic team that has "provided surprisingly positive clarity."

Specifically, Rove praises Obama's choice of New York Fed Chairman Timothy Geithner for Treasury Secretary and Obama's pick of Larry Summers, the former Treasury Secretary and President of Harvard University, as chief of the National Economic Council.

"Monday's announcement of Mr. Obama's economic team was reassuring," Rove writes. "He's generally surrounded himself with intelligent, mainstream advisers. Investors, workers and business owners can only hope that, over time, this new administration's economic policies bear more of their market-oriented imprint."

Rove also offers praise of Berkley Economics Professor Christina Romer as Obama's choice to head up his team of economics advisers. But Rove criticizes the choice of Melody Barnes, a former aide to Sen. Ted Kennedy, as Domestic Policy Council Director.

"Putting a former aide to Ted Kennedy in charge of health policy after tapping universal health-care advocate Tom Daschle to be Health and Human Services secretary sends a clear signal that Mr. Obama didn't mean it when his campaign ads said he wouldn't run to the "extremes" with government-run health care," Rove writes.

Who cares what this gluttonous pig says. He was instrumental in putting G. W. in office and should be imprisoned for his part in all the messes G. W. has gotten us into.

And people should trust this idiot. Anyone who gives this nut-job that gave two terms of Bush credibility should be stripped of his American citizenship.

One of the first things PE Obama should do is have this wacko investigated.

Now he discovered a need for intelligent, mainstream advisers!
It only took 8 years and a, not too subtle, boot.

Rowe should just go and crawl under a rock. As the man who helped bring us one of the worst presidents in history, I hold him equally responsible for all the lives, jobs and dreams both lost and crushed under the Bush administration.

there is talk of the RNC expressing strong views about the Obama staff selections...and yelling and screaming about how how those selections may not be consistent with change..
its fascinating how those people have HIGHLY SELECTIVE habits in how they view washington politics; when Bush and congress achieved dominance in 2006...does a single republican happen to remember which TWO of the 10 fingers they all used to single just how willing they were to work with the Dems??
the 2000-2006 washington DC attitude, under the R's...got underway, after their victories, with the STRONGEST of possible signals that the R's would have preferred to throw their democratic rivals off a speeding train...than to work with them...

and NOW...we are starting to hear about "discontentment" from the R's about some of the moves to fix the Apocalypse of the Bush years...someone should play the RNC some tape from just a few years ago...and watch the faces they make listening to themselves..

How much more Hot Air do we have to endure from the likes of Rove. He help usher in an unprecedented era of greed, corruption, division, Hate, and dragged Religion into the Gutter. Always disengenuous and narrow, we can do better than a man without conscious or love of country. Dastardly is the way of the scoundrel and America will not survive if it continues to follow his path to Hell.

Can we please make this malevolent toad go away?

Who really cares what Karl Rove thinks or says of anything? He is the last person who should be quoted for an opinion on the Obama Administration!

At first I thought he was trying to ingratitate himself to Obama in hopes of an appointment himself. You know, the old wolf in sheep's clothing. Then as I read on, it was clear that he is simply being Karl Rove. Anything he says covers something else, of course. Karl Rove is a Bush/Cheney political henchman with no principles whatsoever. The man is a political crook on the level with Rush Limbaugh and his ilk! I get the same creepy feeling when I look at an image of either one.....

No, indeed, I put no creedence in anything Karl Rove has to say about anything.

Get thee behind us those of you who have sold your souls to the Devil! You have done all the damage you can do. Now it is time for the powers of Good to claim the reigns of this government to right the wrongs done to this country!

Dramatic... yes! Harsh words for harsh times!

Rove, shouldn't you be exiting the country stage right? I mean really, I would have thought with your impending trial that you would make like a tree and leaf.

Roves' thoughts are irrelevant, whether he agrees or disagrees. He needs to understand the voters referendum and should just go away.

rove is not a newsworthy person having his 'approval'
has the value of my retirement account that the last 8
years of mess (he orchestrated) has nearly emptied.

he along with the shrub and vice shrub should face
charges not only here but in the world court..

I don't know if this is a good endorsement or not. He did come close to predicting the election out come. If he is getting to be a good predictor of what is to come, then this is a positive sign.

His politics I don't agree with, but I hope that he is willing to help out by keeping his mouth shut.
