The comments were an over-reaction and regrettable. However, let the truth be told...Hillary did lose her identity towards the end of the primaries by resolving to the "kitchen sink" strategy. At times, her attacks had a tone of malicious desperation and I personally could not recognize the Hillary I once knew. Much like what McCain turned into towards election day.

So, Samantha Power does not owe Hillary any retraction. At least not any more than Hillary owes Obama.

Could the hatefest please end now? This woman has a right to her opinion. Hillary did run a nasty primary campagin. McCain and Palin ran the nastiest and most slanderous campaign in history. We the People are sick of it. If you cannot talk about the issues and what you will do and why we should vote for you then you should not run for office.

I don't want to hear lies and distortions and slander against your opponent. It shows your lack of character and integrity. This woman resigned because Obama would not allow his camp to run a dirty campaign. Sometimes people say things they shouldn't in the heat of the moment. However, constant attacks, distortions of truth, and outright lies we saw the Republicans unsuccessfully use need to stop. The election is over and the Republican Party is still telling lies and tryng to keep their hatefest going.

Obama is a good and decent man and he will be a great President. He has surrounded himself with intelligent and experienced people. He has a huge Republican disaster both economically at home and foreign relation and war nightmares to resolve. It will take all of us in support of OUR President to start to turn this nation around and actually return it to the TRUE values we used to know and could trust from our leaders.

CNN – I don;t care what some person I never heard of said a year ago. If she is qualified for the position she is being given then great, Enough with the tabloid headlines. I thought you consider yourself a true news organization. The headline you used in this story actually had nothing to do with the substance of this story. Tabloid headlines do not become you.

I think she was right and honest when she called Hillary a monster. But I am sorry that later she regretted her comment. I guess the reason was that she was forced to state that and then resign. My idea of a good (if improbable) outcome would be appointing Hillary Clinton to State and then firing her as soon as her successor had been sworn into the Senate. That way, we in New York would be rid of the carpet-bagger, and the country wouldn't be saddled with her, either. Samantha Powers was 100% on target. Considering the amount of capital this country needs to rebuild in the world, we need a Secretary of State with ethics, judgment and the ability at least to coexist with other children in the sandbox - i.e., the polar opposite of Hillary Clinton.

We have Bush's economic disaster to clean up after. Our soldiers are still fighting in the Iraq War close to six years after it began. The defibrilatered VP has been indicted. The list goes on and on and on.

I myself was upset with Clinton at the time on how she was running her campaign. I wished she had not been so negative during the primaries. I did not care who won as long as the other was VP. But, her (extremely) negative campaigning ruined that possiblity. I would have lost some respect for him had he chose her for VP. I am sure alot of his other supporters would have as well. That does not mean I don't think she should play a big role in his administration. I think he would be crazy not to try getting her in a high ranking position. Just like he would be crazy not surrounding himself with the absolute brightest people. We need a true dipolmat in office who will restore our international relationships that Slick Willy worked so hard on, and GW ruined overnight.

Good job President Elect for being able to put your ego aside. It is refreshing to see that this is what we will be getting the next 8 years.
