Obama called India Prime Minister Singh Friday night.

(CNN) - President-elect Barack Obama spoke with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh late Friday night, the president-elect's transition team said.

Obama called Singh to express condolences for the victims of the recent terrorist attacks there. He also made clear there is only one U.S. president at a time, the transition team said.

Earlier Friday evening, Obama released a statement on the attacks in India.

Only one president, but now that Cheney has moved into retirement mode, that president is Bush who continues to be incapable of leadership or unwilling to lead.

Kate Bolduan and Deirdre Walsh are two CNN reporters that are spinning the some of the worst sort of nonsense I have ever seen. You CNN reporters are divisive sensationalists. On January 20th and beyond the articles written by these "fine" journalists will be proven to be complete nonsense. Just because the dems had a shift in power on a major committee that was a close vote, and just because they have obvious regional differences does not mean they are a divided party. The fact is this is the normal reality of politics, different constituencies with different interests. This is simple ebb and flow. You reporters are complete sensationalistic morons, and you have been the whole time. Just wait and see how easily they rally behind the leader once he takes power. First it was all your sensationalism towards race and sexism which proved to be nonsense, now its this fresh retarded thinking. Stop sensationalizing and report the news you pathetic bafoons.

He is as appropriate as any world leader should be. My sincere wish is that Bush and si cronies would leave now so the world heaing would begin sooner. Did anyone else notice that the next story is that Bush will call the Indian PM. He's even too slow in though to do this simple task. Sorry America, for 8 years you didn't just back a loser of a human, you backed a destroyer of mankind.

President-elect Obama has done the right thing. Pakistan IS a terrorist state. What they say cannot be trusted! President Bush has experience. He did the right thing. Offence is the best form of defence. You need to take the fight to Pakistans doorstep. Otherwise they will bring the war to your doorstep. Pakistanis use India as a laboratory to test their crooked ideas. Then they use the same idea against USA , in much bigger way. But at the same time the US should take care of their economy. Conventional war costs a lot. Pak deserves to be nuked. Nothing else will work. They are engulfed in terrorism since 25-30yrs. If President Obama charts any new course of action it could be dangerous for many generations of Americans.

Obama will not get to vote present much longer. There hasn't been any indication of change out of this guy. He won't get out of Iraq or raise taxes on the so called rich. He will be the status quo except changing the dinner menu at the white house.

  18. That's Obama------

He called the Indian PM-–should we applaud him?--Obama is all about speeches and phone calls-no action--

You saw it when he refused to back gay marriage rights and did not come out against Prop 8–

You are seeing it now that when terrorism strikes, Obama makes phone calls--what will he do when they hit the NY subways: probably make a speech-–

Hillary was right when she said she and McCain brought years of experience and Obama brought a speech-

  20. Phone calls don't solve the terrorist problem----

If McCain had won, he would have called for special forces and swat teams to be sent to support one of our most important allies in their time of trouble--

What does Obama do?-He makes a phone call.

I wonder if India and Pakistan will go to war... I think most countries recognize that with the incoming administration there will be little will to fight.
