(CNN) - Rush Limbaugh seems to have given Hillary Clinton his stamp of approval for the second time this year.
The conservative talk show host — who urged supporters during the primary season to back Clinton in an effort to prolong the bitter Democratic presidential nomination fight — told ABC’s Barbara Walters that Clinton’s selection as Secretary of State was "a brilliant stroke" by President-elect Obama.
He said the move was a political master stroke, effectively ruling out a primary challenge in four years. "You know the old phrase, 'You keep your friends close and your enemies closer?' How can she run for president in 2012?” he asks. “She'd have to run against the incumbent and be critical of him - the one who made her Secretary of State."
Obama himself seemed to give a nod Monday to the pair’s policy disagreements during the 2008 primary season. "I assembled this team because I'm a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opinions,” he said at the event where he named Clinton as the leader of his new national security team. “I think that's how the best decisions are made.”
no, Andy H–you are absolutely right.
Stop the ignorance and the Insanity!
Obama will not be challenged by another Democrat in 2012.
I am so sick of hearing this.
OH this guy is just a laughable moron in a rainbow clown wig. The man has no credibility whatsoever and is just a pitiful fool who only remembers his name because people yack at him all day. And "I hate hypocrits" wow are you the very name that you use. I always get a kick out of simpletons like you who hold this false humility. You're here every day posting too so cut the crap my man. People call Limblob for what he is and if you can't take it, like how you and others of your ilk who are acting like little kids in a sandbox after you had your collective rears routed last month, sit down and be quiet. Right wingers like you have that stalker mentality while criticizing others who don't hold your bizzaro ideals, you put on this phony sense of intelligence and pathetically look down on others when in reality we're looking down on you, Limbaugh, Hannity and the other facist big mouthed filth. But please, by all means continue to rant and howl at the moon because you are a perfect example of why a majority of this country has ejected trash like your candidate.
who really gives a ratz rear about what Rush thinks from his fuzzy brain.
What can I say. He's still the same Limpbahumbug. Instead of calling him Rush, I'd like to call him Shush.
All you liberal wackos, do you realize that Rush has the largest radio contract in the history of radio contracts? Doesn't that say something? Funny how you all think that you are a majority. Obama was an anti-Bush vote – plain and simple. And Rush is correct.
And that's why I hung around with Ayers and Wright, to get a different point of view he added.
Change you can believe in! I've got something to sell you if you believe in change.
He's disgusting and his opinion of Obama's choices is not news. Moving right along ...
Bob in LA -
Very good point!
I'm so glad America did exactly opposite of what Rush wanted–they voted for Barack. Oh happy day.
Why do we care what this pillow-stomach, racist pig says! He's a gutless coward who is seeing his ratings collapse because people like him and those other conservative know-nothings at Fox have nothing to offer. He's irrelevant, and so is the so-called chrsitian right.
Hey fat boy, go back and talk about the "war on christmas", or some other stupid topic.
Didn't need Rush to tell me that. Knew it from the get go.
The puppet has named his masters. They're baaaack. lol
You don't believe drug users? Does that go for Bill and Barack too?
Hope you never have to have surgery and take legal pain killers.
What the heck you think JFK was taking all those years?
If Rush had a D behind his name you'd think he was the greatest thing since Keith and Chris.
Lighten up. It will make you bitter people feel better.
"Even if Obama didn't choose Hillary as the Secretary of State how could Hillary run for the nomination in 2012 as Obama will be the sitting President and Presidents are the automatic nominee?"
No, the sitting President is not the automatic nominee. Anyone from the incumbent party can still run. Usually though the President runs unopposed. It usually looks bad for members of your own party to run against you.
Then again, maybe he does have a lightbulb flicker in his nutshell of a head.
He calls Obama brilliant, and Clinton Presidential.
I want to call his show tomorrow and congratulate him.
Does anyone know the call number?
Sorry Dem-wits but Rush is right again and you twits know it.
Rush seemed to miss that we voted Obama because many supporters recognized his brilliance a long time ago. Kudos to Clinton for getting even Limbaugh to catch up.
Rush seems to have all the answers and expertise on fixing this country. Why doesn't he run?...
Franken was so right when he titled his book "Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot"
I can has relevant? Noes. Epic Fail.
Why would anyone care what Rush Limbaugh thinks? Is he out of rehab already?
The thing that sickens me is that he's actually right.. but I'm sure Obama picked Clinton for more reasons than just keeping your enemies close. I really don't see Obama and Clinton as enemies in any way. They really had the exact same platforms in their campaigns.. with just slight variations. And I personally think Hillary will do a great job as Sec. of State.
not so brilliant. she could have said no. and obama may be obliged to give her his endorsement in 2012/16
Why does media cover:
Jesse Jackson, Jr.
Mark Halperin – yes Mark
Pat and Bay B.
Granted some are in the media, but who are they? Their opinions are dated, small-minded, and petty. A divisive group.
Entertainment one supposes – overpaid blowhards that separate America.
How do you spell "irrelevant"? Limbaugh is nothing but a legend in his own mind.
Rush is the mouthpiece for the devil, hiding behind the religious right.
cnn is a liberal network . not worth a dam.god help us get through this terrible election. liberalism is a incurable desease.
