Limbaugh called Obama's selection of Clinton 'a brilliant stroke.'

(CNN) - Rush Limbaugh seems to have given Hillary Clinton his stamp of approval for the second time this year.

The conservative talk show host — who urged supporters during the primary season to back Clinton in an effort to prolong the bitter Democratic presidential nomination fight — told ABC’s Barbara Walters that Clinton’s selection as Secretary of State was "a brilliant stroke" by President-elect Obama.

He said the move was a political master stroke, effectively ruling out a primary challenge in four years. "You know the old phrase, 'You keep your friends close and your enemies closer?' How can she run for president in 2012?” he asks. “She'd have to run against the incumbent and be critical of him - the one who made her Secretary of State."

Obama himself seemed to give a nod Monday to the pair’s policy disagreements during the 2008 primary season. "I assembled this team because I'm a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opinions,” he said at the event where he named Clinton as the leader of his new national security team. “I think that's how the best decisions are made.”

This is unreal CNN. Who gives a donkey's behind what Rush Limbaugh says or thinks? This is news?? The man should just keep taking his drugs and imagining he gets to spend the night with Sarah.

Patriot wants to know why PE Obama hasn't fixed the economy yet. Maybe because he is NOT president yet. Idiocy does not a "patriot" make!

If Rush said it then it is just plain stupid! I don't know why you would even waste space to repeat something that fat man says!

Unbelievable as to how many of you feel compelled to point out Rush's past problem with pain killers. Yet, none of you seem to have a problem with the Kennedy's (Teddy and Patrick) alcohol and drug addictions. Rush is a radio guy and the "Great" Kennedy's are actual legislators. Can you see the hypocrisy of your ridiculous statements? My guess is no. By the way, Rush is right on the money on this one. How many of you sheep really believe President Elect Barry Obama likes Hillary after the way she went after him in the primaries? Grow up!

I tuned into Rush the other day... his logic is sounding so convoluted nowadays... he's got a very bright mind and has carved a hefty piece of American right wing pie for himself... but his heydays are over... he stuck his feather in the Bush/McCain/Palin hat.... and now he's tripping over himself and sounding down right silly....

I don't understand how Rush Limbaugh's opinion on ANYTHING could be newsworthy. Must be a reaaaaaallly slow day at CNN. This is great news for Rush because he loves nothing more than controversy and fireworks and The Clinton Family has been to Rush what George Bush has been for comedians for the last eight years. In the meantime, he's still obsessed with Obama's birth certificate and not at all interested in doing whatever it takes to making this country great. He's a worthless rabble-rouser and the only constructive thing he's accomplished was helping split the Republican Party into two dubious factions of nincompoops.

Rush should keep his trap closed as average people don't care what he thinks.

As far as Senator Clinton's appointment goes; she is well qualified for the position.

I believe President-elect Obama and Senator Clinton had a long heart to heart chat and he offered her a post she feels most comfortable taking, while having the highest exposure.

This is not a fewd or a pay back but it is for a better America AND she did not have to accept a post but did so because she wants to work for Americans. The nomination process is over and it is time to go forward.

You know what? Nobody gives a crap what Limbaugh thinks. NOBODY has done as much damage to this country through it's electorate or divided it against itself as much as Rush. He think his input is helpful? I call it treasonous. Retire already fat boy....we don't need you anymore.

This comment pretty much establishes Limbaugh's priorities. He care less about the value of Clinton as Secretart of State than he does the supposed "neutralization" of her as a political opponent. For this pompous windbag, political conflict, or the appearance of it is all that is important. What happens for the good of the nation or its people isn't anywhere on his rader screen.

patriot, instead of asking why "the messiah" hasn't fixed the economy yet, maybe you should ask why Bush still hasn't – he is the president after all. I know you can't wait to start blaming Obama, but you should wait until he is at least sworn into office.
