Limbaugh called Obama's selection of Clinton 'a brilliant stroke.'

(CNN) - Rush Limbaugh seems to have given Hillary Clinton his stamp of approval for the second time this year.

The conservative talk show host — who urged supporters during the primary season to back Clinton in an effort to prolong the bitter Democratic presidential nomination fight — told ABC’s Barbara Walters that Clinton’s selection as Secretary of State was "a brilliant stroke" by President-elect Obama.

He said the move was a political master stroke, effectively ruling out a primary challenge in four years. "You know the old phrase, 'You keep your friends close and your enemies closer?' How can she run for president in 2012?” he asks. “She'd have to run against the incumbent and be critical of him - the one who made her Secretary of State."

Obama himself seemed to give a nod Monday to the pair’s policy disagreements during the 2008 primary season. "I assembled this team because I'm a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opinions,” he said at the event where he named Clinton as the leader of his new national security team. “I think that's how the best decisions are made.”

This whole thing is ironic, particularly from a hypocrite like Rush Limbaugh: under Hillary's healthcare reform proposals – as well as Obama's – Limbaugh would've spent less money out-of-pocket on all those opioid pills. It comes down to two words: SOUR GRAPES.

And I praise God that Obama actually won without engaging in systemic voter fraud like we saw a certain other political party get away with in Ohio & Florida in 2004 & 2000.

Take *that* and smoke it in your Global-Warming-Is-Fiction pipe!

Rush should take some more pain killers – I did not even know he still was around... Are his opinions relevant? He should apply for the Notre Dame coaching job.

While it is not a rule that the sitting President is the automatic nominee of the party it is considered poor form to camapign against your own party's incumbent especially if they are popular. The fact that Hillary accepted the job leads me to believe that she thinks Obama will still be fomidable enough in 2012 that making a run at the nomination would be political suicide on her part.

Rush is only on the radio, it seems these people that write here can't change the channel, it seems like they are forced to listen to Rush.I think the more dangeres thing these days are the people that can hold such hatred for someone that has a different view than them. if you read these post, these people have hate very deep inside. I bet most here havn't even listen to him at all.I am not saying you would like him, I don't listen either. As i said turn the channel. Maybe we could get along if hate wasn't the only feeling we have for someone we disagree with.

Rush is pointing out the obvious here. Hillary is not dumb. I am sure she thought of these ramifications before she made her decision. Maybe she doesn't want to run in 2012. How could she win anyway? Either Obama will mess it up so bad, the Republicans will be back in office, or people will love Obama they wont give him up! Sadly she is out of it for a long time.

I wish old 'Lush' would simply retire from the real entertainment world, and go back to his 'fantasy' oxycontin / hillbilly heroin world.

Since the recividism (failure) rate for oxycontin addicts is nearly 85%, he may have never left those days...

Rush who? The guy lost what little credibility he had left when I heard him say that Sarah Palin is the future of the Republican Party.

I don't really get a lot of you. He said it. They reported it. Just because you don't agree with him doesn't mean he's not allowed to have an opinion. It's significant because of what he stands for related to the content of what he said. Why does it kill you so much that a conservative thought it was a good pick? Lashing out just makes you seem more dividing than Rush!

Does anyone reallt believe the Democratic party would allow Clinton to challenge an incumbent president? Obama will be the automatic nominee in 2012, no matter who is the Sec if State. Sure there will be a few oddball challengers, but no one with any hopes of a political future will challenge an incumbent president. That would be political suicide. Rush is a moron. He has nothing nice to say, Obama has made no mistakes thus far, and has chosen no controversial people, so Rush has to find something to go after, this is it. What a loudmouth windbag.

Obama ran on a campaign of far, he is same old, same old, old school Washington...too bad, even the ones who hint at something different become clones of the status quo.

    And we the people pay.

Limbaugh is right. By choosing Hillary, Obama chose re-election safety in 2012, because he knows his policies aren't going to bring a whirlwind of change in either the economy or the war...those things have to sort themselves out over time.

And just when I thought perhaps we were going to be rid of the Clinton windbags......#$%$#@!

    My comment is:

Pres. Elect Obama seems to have a strong hand on the wheel of
Government, and in just a few days has done more than most of the
men that have gone before him. In my view he will be one of the best
presidents this nation has ever seen, just wait and see.

Do people really still pay any attention to this blowhard? Didn't his relevance vanish in the post-Clinton world?

This man is the ultimate clown – he makes Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews look sane and rational by comparison.

Hillary Clinton will be awesome as SOS – because she is smart, strong, poised and knows issues inside and out.

Those are many of the reasons she got 18 million votes!
