Limbaugh called Obama's selection of Clinton 'a brilliant stroke.'

(CNN) - Rush Limbaugh seems to have given Hillary Clinton his stamp of approval for the second time this year.

The conservative talk show host — who urged supporters during the primary season to back Clinton in an effort to prolong the bitter Democratic presidential nomination fight — told ABC’s Barbara Walters that Clinton’s selection as Secretary of State was "a brilliant stroke" by President-elect Obama.

He said the move was a political master stroke, effectively ruling out a primary challenge in four years. "You know the old phrase, 'You keep your friends close and your enemies closer?' How can she run for president in 2012?” he asks. “She'd have to run against the incumbent and be critical of him - the one who made her Secretary of State."

Obama himself seemed to give a nod Monday to the pair’s policy disagreements during the 2008 primary season. "I assembled this team because I'm a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opinions,” he said at the event where he named Clinton as the leader of his new national security team. “I think that's how the best decisions are made.”

My god most of you people are about as niave as they come.

I am NOT a Rush fan, not by a long shot. But he is right on this one.
By putting Hillary as SOS, Obama has basicly put a muzzle on her.
By taking her out of congress, he eliminates one of his oppositions.

You people really need to grow up, look past the end of your nose and your contempt for anything other than Democrats.

By putting Hillary under his command more or less, Obama has secured the fact he will not have to fight her in congress.

I'm sure all you libs will look forward to the "Fairness Doctrine" so you can get Air America up and moving again. Apparently people do listen to Rush Limbaugh, he has one of the highest rated radio talk shows, along with Hannity, Levin and many others. Conservative talk shows always have good ratings. That is why they can stay on the air without government intervention; whatever happened to Air America anyway? Fox News has pretty high ratings too. I would think a conservative newspaper might pull print out it's slump as well. Of course if that begins to happen the libs will probably see if they can't find some judges to re-interpret the first ammendment or make a new law to hush the voices they deem unfavorable. Good ole liberty at work.

Rush and his kind have brought a level of meanness and prejudice to politics that will hurt this country for decades.

This man has NOTHING to say to me or any other loyal American. Stop pandering to him!

Rush is the greatest propagandist living today. One could easily say he's contributed to this countries sad condition.

Rush Limbaugh – always looking for attention. Three failed marriages, a drug addiction (he sure was tough on those who had an addiction problem until his hypocritical fat behind got caught) skirted away from a drug conviction, fired for a racist statement on national television, and is in touch with realitiy only on occasion. And his opinion matters? It just goes to show you that P.T. Barnum was right – "There's a sucker born every minute." They must all tune into the Rush Limbaugh Comedy Show.

Wow! All these negative comments about Rush yet I don't read anything about how wrong he is. Looks like he may have struck a nerve with all you Obama Kool-aid drinkers.

My comment and the Republican party are awaiting moderation. If they keep listening to Rush they will never achieve moderation and will remain outside the main stream. If that is really where they want to be fine.

Am I the only one who's still surprised this guy has a career? I have to wonder if he only has a job so comedians have someone to pick on...?

See, this would be a fun thought to talk about over beer and whiskey, but after Obama has established himself so well in interviews, magazine and newspaper articles, and a book, I seriously doubt his decisions are that cut-and-dried.

I don't get people who say they "couldn't care less" about Rush Limbaugh's opinion but then, aside from posting a comment, post a really long, angry comment. It really seems to me like you people DO care about what he says, huh?

Obama, like Queen Elizabeth, is just a figurehead. Hillary is a genuine leader! The dems need her much more than the wonder boy!

To Patriot who said "I asked my wife why the messiah hasn't fixed the economy yet. She is not political so I figured I could get an unbiased response. Her response, the Clintons haven't given him permission. HAHAHAHAHA, now that's change.
PE Obama is not President yet. He cannot use any power to change anything yet. And for those of you who keep calling him such, he is not the messiah!! He is our next President. Support him or move to the next country. If he fails, we all fail!
To the Welcome to the Obama Show- we do have change from fear mongering and hate to a thoughtful and educated leader. It just so happens that the best of the best may have already been on capital hill in the Clinton administration.

Limbaugh still believes that there is no Global Warming, doesn't he?
He is like a soap opera, the story line never changes, just the names of the charactors.
The only ones who care about what Rush Limbaugh has to say are the Sarah Palin followers.

Sam, very intelligent comment. You should really paint yourself a left wing lib. You obviously don't understand the hypocrisy in his comment... You really should go back to school and work on your understanding of political history...

His views are somewhat suspect and really a backhanded compliment to suggest sinister and not benign motives of the President Elect. As usual divisive double entendre with no higher aim than to stir up dissent, impotent as usual.
