Limbaugh called Obama's selection of Clinton 'a brilliant stroke.'

(CNN) - Rush Limbaugh seems to have given Hillary Clinton his stamp of approval for the second time this year.

The conservative talk show host — who urged supporters during the primary season to back Clinton in an effort to prolong the bitter Democratic presidential nomination fight — told ABC’s Barbara Walters that Clinton’s selection as Secretary of State was "a brilliant stroke" by President-elect Obama.

He said the move was a political master stroke, effectively ruling out a primary challenge in four years. "You know the old phrase, 'You keep your friends close and your enemies closer?' How can she run for president in 2012?” he asks. “She'd have to run against the incumbent and be critical of him - the one who made her Secretary of State."

Obama himself seemed to give a nod Monday to the pair’s policy disagreements during the 2008 primary season. "I assembled this team because I'm a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opinions,” he said at the event where he named Clinton as the leader of his new national security team. “I think that's how the best decisions are made.”

Hey Phillip Tanner, you really should try to provide intelligent commentary. Obviously you have a lack of understanding of what is really happening here. You must always listen to the mainstream media and their right winger reporting...

President -Elect Obama is keeping his word, his concern is of what is best for our country, not what people may think. Negative, unhappy persons will always show negativity because that is how they have been programed by the great deciever.

I agree, brilliant! She will never make it though. Well, she just may. People have been lying their way into office for years, reps and dems. But, does the democratic party have anyone else but the Clitons? Now, her husband is going to be a NY Senator! For heavens sake people, enough of the Clitons and that also means Obam's staff, ex-Clitons most of them. I thought this was "Change"! It's a remake of the Clitons.

Just a response to Mr. Leo Campbell...in the word of drug and alcohol addiction, "recidivism" or RELAPSE, is a given. And, if you believe so strongly that opiate addicts are too far gone, maybe you should be worrying about the millions of TAXPAYER dollars going to habiliate/rehabilitate them.

The only people that don't understand what Rush is talking about ,are idealistic, uninformed, people that want the government to make decisions for them and all of us,the people that do understand what Rush is saying, prefer to think and act with personal responsibility ,without the government being involved.Republicans are like the pilgrims that left England for personal freedom,Democrats are like the English that stayed in England and Socialism.

Jeff – which person below said that Rush wasn't allowed to have an opinion. Criticizing him isn't the same as denying him his free speech rights. Rush is a fraud – he's in the entertainment industry, not the news industry.

Is there anyone out there NOT smart enough to know that this is EXACTLY why Obama picked someone without ANY qualifications for Secretary of State? I mean, her ONLY experience is having a hallucination about dodging Bosnian sniper fire.

Hillary is now DONE. The dream died.

    what i windbag...
the greatest thing i ever heard, and advertisers should pay attention, when radio switched from using journals to using listening devices limbagh's ratings crashed. the new things are worn by a person and tracks what they actually listen to. those diaries were a source of corruption. rush probably bribed people to say they were listening. now that they would actually have to listen they aren't.

    you're a fraud rush.

Although I couldn't disagree more with most things that come out of Rustys' mouth,he is the personification of the first amendment,I just find it quite humorous that he has such a loyal following that hang on his every word. The dumbing down process is rampant.

Is Rush Limbaugh even relevant anymore? I hardly think so. He's the spokesman for a true dinosaur; the Republican Party. Seriously Rush, take up golfing. Your job as conservative talk show host is pretty much an irrelevant boondoggle for the next 8 years. You might as well have some fun. Hit the golf courses you bald, fat, deaf, ugly, dope addict; nobody cares what you have to say anymore.

Bill Clinton would have been a much more realistic and logical choice. He is a natural orator and almost every single person in the world loves the guy.

The drug addiction comments regarding Rush are hilarious. I have never seen so many hypocrits. Obama is an admitted hard drug user and quite likely drug dealer in his earlier days and you made him president! And then the "irrelavent" comments are almost as funny. He is so "irrelavent" he got all these people to take time to make hateful comments. Gotta love it! I voted for McCain but I hope and pray that Obama is successful. I highly doubt very many Obama voters could make that statement and mean it if McCain had one. And that my friends is the biggest difference between conservatism and liberalism and the current state of our country. Imagine if Bush had received half the support from the libs and the liberal media that Obama will get going forward. Imagine...

Mr. Limbaugh is indeed a master of the obvious. His acute sense of political nuance is paralleled only by his ability to discern generic drugs from their name brand counterparts. Good job Rush old boy! Keep up the good work! Wink, wink, oink, oink.
