Limbaugh called Obama's selection of Clinton 'a brilliant stroke.'

(CNN) - Rush Limbaugh seems to have given Hillary Clinton his stamp of approval for the second time this year.

The conservative talk show host — who urged supporters during the primary season to back Clinton in an effort to prolong the bitter Democratic presidential nomination fight — told ABC’s Barbara Walters that Clinton’s selection as Secretary of State was "a brilliant stroke" by President-elect Obama.

He said the move was a political master stroke, effectively ruling out a primary challenge in four years. "You know the old phrase, 'You keep your friends close and your enemies closer?' How can she run for president in 2012?” he asks. “She'd have to run against the incumbent and be critical of him - the one who made her Secretary of State."

Obama himself seemed to give a nod Monday to the pair’s policy disagreements during the 2008 primary season. "I assembled this team because I'm a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opinions,” he said at the event where he named Clinton as the leader of his new national security team. “I think that's how the best decisions are made.”

Rush Limburger is not getting my goat. He is right about Hilliary being a good pick as far as experience and I think that if she is sincere about serving the American people, she will work with Obama and not against him. Rush is happy about the pick so he highlight any disagreements they might have. He's just a drip trying to work the faucet.

Why is no one questioning her credentials? Who cares if her appointment pleases though who voted for her in the primaries or causes Obama to avoid a heated primary challenge in 4 years. She's a dishonest politician who isn't the most qualified person for the job. I am troubled by Obama's choice. Clearly his call for change rings hollow.

Limbaugh isn't too far off the mark. Clinton had already reserved her website space for 2012 (in the summer of 2008). In 2016, she'll be too old to run for President. Secretary of State is the most powerful position Clinton could be endowed with. The Clintons indeed have a lot of baggage. Many voters are either too young or too unaware to know how the Clintons abused power. There are many reasons why Clinton should not be Secretary of State. But, she will do a good job so long that she doesn't make another "we're going to obliterate them [Iran]" public statement in an interview (which immediately went around the world) and her husband doesn't take any more "donations" from Arab countries. Obama has probably made a wise decision, however the Clintons will have to adjust and to get used to not being above the law if they want a positive legacy.

Politicians are like diapers they need changing real often. I will bet the left wingers are already squirming because of all that reaching across to Republicans for help. I would have thought Robert Gates would have been smarter. The Clinton dynasty lives.

Rush must be very relevent. Most of the responses deal with him and not with Clinton. I said exactly what Rush said a month ago to my family when her selection was first mentioned. If the door opens, if Obama falls on his face, she would have to resign as SOS if she wanted to run in 2012 (2011) the way election campaigns go. He has neutralized a Senate critic, and don't think she wouldn't be that in the Senate.

Even while in the throes of power the left wing nut job clowns always have to have something or someone to toss their anger and rage at. You people are so amazing. Your super inflated egos compel you to spout nonsense on a subject and personna you don't even know. There's a name for the behavior and it's called insanity. You're so willing to judge others, sling out names to make yourselves feel better, believe what you read, and never dig for any truth. That's a direct result of insecurity, ignorance, and laziness. I'm willing to give Obama a chance, even though I know what he's about....a display of tolerance and fairness. If he fails, we have all of you and the mainstream media to blame instead of Bush. You people continue to divide this country. How will Obama fix YOU?????????????

This guy is an idiot! The party of the incumbent always chooses the incumbent. Hilary would not be facing him in a primary in 2012 anyway. If he wanted the nomination, he would have it.
