Limbaugh called Obama's selection of Clinton 'a brilliant stroke.'

(CNN) - Rush Limbaugh seems to have given Hillary Clinton his stamp of approval for the second time this year.

The conservative talk show host — who urged supporters during the primary season to back Clinton in an effort to prolong the bitter Democratic presidential nomination fight — told ABC’s Barbara Walters that Clinton’s selection as Secretary of State was "a brilliant stroke" by President-elect Obama.

He said the move was a political master stroke, effectively ruling out a primary challenge in four years. "You know the old phrase, 'You keep your friends close and your enemies closer?' How can she run for president in 2012?” he asks. “She'd have to run against the incumbent and be critical of him - the one who made her Secretary of State."

Obama himself seemed to give a nod Monday to the pair’s policy disagreements during the 2008 primary season. "I assembled this team because I'm a strong believer in strong personalities and strong opinions,” he said at the event where he named Clinton as the leader of his new national security team. “I think that's how the best decisions are made.”

Typically Republican. Politics before country, but always say the opposite.

This is why they lost and will lose again and again until they finally realize it's all about the electorate – not them.

Hillary is a good choice because she's an extremely intelligent person who is already well known and well thought of all over the world.

Limbaugh is still a big fat idiot.

Please stop....stop looking for a reason that Hillary Clinton is going to have problems dealing with Obama! She was an exceptional choice for Secretary of State. He needs a strong person in this position and she is it. Can't you find something positive to say about Hillary? Give it a rest!

who cares what this idiot and his uninformed/misinformed crazies think. I bet you he's back on those pills again. This time when he cought, NO DEALS. Straight to the the Big house like he advocated for others. obviously, he has no regard for the right wing nuts who listen to his hateful vile, for he won't be telling them some of the lies. Dido fulls.

Rush has far too much invested in Clinton-bashing to admit it publicly, but he and a lot of other conservatives are probably breathing a sigh of relief that Obama chose Hillary and not someone from the left fringe. Say whatever else about her, Hillary has been a red-tailed hawk on defense issues. What Rush is saying without saying is that putting Hillary in such a high-profile Cabinet job is also a good way to make sure Bill behaves himself, or at least tries to.

I love how people who don't like Rush call him names and insult him but rarely confront him using logic and reason. How about commenting on what he's actually saying, rather than what he looks like and his personal habits?

The only people that care what Limbaugh says are people that do not have the ability to think for themselves.

I am a little confused. Even if Obama didn't choose Hillary as the Secretary of State how could Hillary run for the nomination in 2012 as Obama will be the sitting President and Presidents are the automatic nominee?

Is it me or is Limbaugh off his rocker again?

Would CNN please not give this convicted felon the time of day. The last persons opinion in the world I want to hear is Limbaugh, second only to Dr. Phil. Two very narcisistic men with very little to say other than a bunch of babble.
