For those who think that the incumbent is the automatic nominee, that's not correct. Generally, there is no strong primary challenge to an incumbent, but it is possible to challenge the incumbent in a primary. It's not the smartest political move, since a strong primary fight with an incumbent would divide a party. It would only be done if the incumbent's first term were disastrous. Besides, hedging his bets is not something Obama has really done. He wouldn't be worried four years from now. He's more confident than that. He doesn't want "yes" people around him. That accomplishes nothing with regards to advising him. Especially in the area of foreign policy, where he is insightful and intuitive, but inexperienced, he needs dissenting views around him for the purposes of education. You don't learn anything if all your advisors agree with you. As for the poeple saying we shouldn't "hate" Rush Limbaugh, he is the ultimate spewer of hate. His whole purpose is to entertain an audience so that he can stuff his wallet with money, and unfortunately, his method of entertainment is to divide the country by attacking anyone who can clearly see that Bush and his cronies are power hungry goons. Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Ann Coulter, and all the other right wing pundits are show hosts don't do what they do because they believe in it. They do it to make money. Plain and simple. "Don't give in to hate. That leads to the dark side."

Limbaugh, Hannity, Dr. Laura, and the like are the BIGGEST reason for the Fairness Doctrine to be enacted, something that trust me they do NOT want to happen. As long as they can spew their divisiveness on the airways without much oposition, they can continue to rule the airways and take advantage of the folks with the lower IQ's that can't think for themselves. Hopefully during the Obama years to come the far right will lose this gripe as the country starts to open it's eyes and move closer to the center away from the far right neocons and the left wing bloggers. At that point the sponsers will drop off, the radio stations will fill those slots with music and the "kinder, gentler Amercia" that Bush #1 proposed may become a reality.

Let's see. Hillary Clinton, whose husband's dealings with the moslem world have gained him an enormous fortune is expected to place the interests of the United States above those of the islamic nations that hate us and have vowed to make us a part of a world wide islamic calaphate.

And Barack Obama, whose father is a moslem and therefore considered by moslems to be a moslem (children's religious affiliation is determined by their fathers according to islamic reckoning) is expected to be the commander-in-chief of the United States and place the interests of our country above those of our enemies.

Somehow, I doubt we will see either of these two exercise the power of their offices in the interest of the United States. Mrs. Clinton will, as the Clintons always do, place self-interest above all else and Mr. Obama will, as the resident moslem in the White House, maneuver the calaphate closer than we ever dreamed.

This is a strange article, as it does not seem to be self aware enough to realize that Rush's compliment is a backhanded one, meant to imply political gamesmanship is taking priority over whats best for the country. The headline should read, Limbaugh Skeptical of Obama's Pick. A headline which neither surprising nor particularly news worthy.

Limbaugh is an absolute doofus. When was the last time a sitting, popularly-electd president lost a nomination? Clinton was out in 2012 anyway. I was critical of Obama during his run and I voted for McCain...and I'd do it again. That said, so far I like what I hear from Obama and I hope his actions will follow. We're long past the point where we can/should be bickering at each other. Obama recognizes (as hopefully the rest of you Dems do) that almost half the country did NOT vote for Obama, including a sizable percentage of Americans who stayed home. The election is over; the process we use for choosing a President is past, and it's time to move forward together. I'm not going to be happy about much of what Obama does, but I'm going to support him as best I can, without malice. This is what we HAVE to do...all of us...from here on out. The problems we're dealing with did NOT all come from the last administration, but have been a function of the last 20-30 years, and we need to take a long term view to make things right again. Together.
