Special Envoy to the UN. Bill Clinton had his faults, but being unpopular with all the other nations wasn't one of them. He could have been elected president, prime minister, premier or whatever other title of virtually any country he chose after he left office!

Bill Clinton can mend fences - Quickly!!!

The history books will be alot kinder to Clinton than his successor but
he kind of reminds me of an ageing boxer, not being able to cope with-out the limelight and not willing to admit his time is over.

I think he should stay in the background. Obama likes it low-key -no drama -just get things done. He has already met with the Governors and wants transparency for any funds that are given to the states. We will get safe bridges, safe and better schools, lots of goodies for our state and our children. Now we have to have better laws to put rapists and pedophiles away for LIFE .Lets hear more about those issues and less about gays and abortion rights!! Rapists and pedophiles are killers of the spirit and souls' of the victims.

But the national debt (not the deficit) was retired under Clinton and we had a surplus. If he can make that happen again, we ought to change the Constitution and bring him back! I could care less about Lewinsky, a woman, not a child, who set him up (he's not blameless, but he never allowed torture, either, nor had 5,000 of our servicepeople killed and thousands more maimed, not to mention 100,000 dead Iraqis and millions of displaced Iraqis.) Bush has committed crimes against humanity and should have been impeached, but for Pelosi's complicity in allowing torture...she doesn't want that to come out, so won't allow hearings.

I recall the first time Clinton ran for office... he said the country will get two for the price of one... and that if anything, Hillary was smarter than him. Now despite his philandering, that is a gracious statement for any husband to make. Men who fool around often love their wives very much. The other is like an illness... they simply seem unable to resist. No one can say that he is not intelligent and qualified for any role he might play in the administration directly or indirectly.

I'm sure the financial disclosure is no problem for either Clintons. Even in the Republican witch hunt that proved only that he was an unfaithful husband, NOTHING was proved against Bill Clinton.

Bush is the one who should be impeached... right along with Cheney.. but it will never happen. The republicans have teflon skin... and the Media aids them in this feat. After all, what is media... but big business. Sorry, I'm very cynical today.... :)

Even if Bill is not getting any role, somehow I feel one of his feet is already stepping into the ground. One of his hands is pressing some buttons here and there, manipulating the administration.

What's new? Power addictor.

I'm a registered democrat but very close to the center. I have mixed feelings about former president Clinton involved in the new administration. Unlike most Republicans I know, I can give him credit where credit is due. During his eight years I thought he was a great president and accomplished much. Unlike most Democrats, I am ashamed of how he left office, and certainly understand Republican anger on that point. He could bring alot of unwanted baggage to what otherwise may be a very promising administration.

I'm mystified as to why so many Republicans have already decided PE Obama will do nothing but run the country the rest of way into the ground. It seems we gave Bush two terms and obviously, the majority of Americans, Republican and Democrat (all but a small core of die-hard conservatives), believe he was not a good leader and did not take the country in the right direction. For goodness sakes, give our new man a chance. We've had good, great and poor presidents of both parties. Why castigate and criticize PE Obama when he hasn't even begun serving the nation? Had we done that at the outset of the Reagan years or Clinton years wouldn't we look sillly now?

Now about the Clintons. There is no doubt in my mind, and the mind of many others that Bill Clinton was this country's best President ever. I am hoping to tag President-Elect Obama with that same praise and hopefully more. Hillary will continue Bill's legacy as Secretary of State and what a great SofS she will be. You repugs can say anything you want, but you cannot say that the Clinton years were hard on Americans. Can you say the same for Mr Bush's reign? Who was the real terrorist here? Hmmmmmmm

Do all of you know why America is in the mess that it is in? Greed, lying, cheating whether it be Pennsylvania Ave, Wall Street or Main Street, America is paying for this. And gues what people, it is going to get worse to the point where there will no longer be a USA. Just keep on going down this path and you will see that I am right. GM, Ford, Chrysler...too bad, you should go under. You people who work for them, guess what, the party's over. Deal with it like the rest of the unemployed.

reading the comments is like taking a trip across the US, everyone has
very strong opinions but likely very little real information. why not spend some time actually reading about the past
and trying to come up with a conclusion that isn't what you heard from some talking head on TV. why is it that when smart people take office other people get sideways, is it that the words spoken are too much for the common person to comprehend? I wonder how anyone can criticize a past president that presided over one of the most prolific periods in American history in terms of finance. the Clinton era was filled with EMPLOYMENT, BALANCED BUDGETS, LEAPS IN TECHNOLOGY AND OVERALL PROSPERITY FOR MORE PEOPLE THAN EVER BEFORE. as far as I'm concerned they should have left him in office. Just think about what life would be like if we had not elected BUSH! who cares who Clinton slept with, wouldn't you all prefer it if bush had slept with an intern instead of bankrupting the country both financially and internationally. We all need to buy into the rebirth of this country under the leadership of a man who has risen up to lead us, let's face it, people's confidence and attitude matter more than anything, so let's stay positive and remember what makes this country the greatest on earth, our freedom, which has been sorely compromised by the current guy in office, hopefully we can make it to jan 20th without further Bush errors.

The Clinton Dynasty will never end!

I won't be surprised at all when their daughter decides to run for office!

I don't think it is a bad thing, Peace and Prosperity will be a welcome "change"!

But we did just "Vote in" another Clinton Administration, just with BO at the Top instead of Hillary!

I can not believe all the support Hillary and Bill have. I really can not.

I only have one question to that, where was this support when Obama took on the clinton machine and WON?

Or could it be true, Obama won by being popular, entertaining, lovable.

We hear how great Hillary will be as SOS, and Bill was the greatest,,,, but yet they LOST to Obama.

I do not understand it.

In other words, the best Democrat was NOT really voted into the office of President?

GaVoter - You didn't need to clarify you are from the south. Your racist comment did that on its own. The south needs to press fast-forward and catch up to the times. Things move so slowly down there people behave as if it is still the 60's.

i find it hard to beleive peoplen critize Bill for fooling around with an intern, mean while the current President has done the following:

1) Allowed the tourchure of POWs
2) Started a war under false pretenses resulting in what will be close to 10,000 deaths on both sides fo the isle.
3) Taken away personal freedom rights through the patriot act
4) Bodged every natural disaster relief effort
5) Killed the national debt and is responsible for the housing stock market crash.

To Mr. PjP and others bashing Bill Clinton: He was one of our best presidents. Our country was at one of its strongest points when he was in office. I personally do not care who he sleeps with. That whole impeachment thing was a right-wing distraction to win the presidency in 2000. Boy did your plan work! Look where we are eight years later! You boy Bush was such a better choice. Our economy is in the toilette, and Mr. Bush just sits there and says he's sorry.......

Bill Clinton said he and his wife have always talked "about everything," and he called her advice "invaluable" throughout his career.

Well, I can think of at least two days in his second term this did not happen nor was the advice applicable...

I was hoping President Clinton would be asked to Secretary of State. I hope he has a role in Obama's administration. The great bonus would be Clinton would provide a target for american right-wing extremists pulling attention away from Obama-- the architect of America's movement back toward the center, away from the right wing extremism of the past eight years.

Looks like Obama is the luckiest man alive!

And smart - he's tapped practically every key player in the Clinton Administration, much to the dismay of those who actually bought the "Change" thing.

As for Hillary, although many have forgotten, she DID win the popular vote, and only by disallowing both Michigan and Florida, whose votes had to be cut in half, did the cunning Mr. O manage to elbow his way in.

Of course, he needed the Boys Club to go along with it, and of course, they did. Boys will be boys.

The fun part was that the day before the Dem Convention began, the same boys decided for "unity's" sake, they would give both states all their votes after all.

Voila! a presidential nominee is SELECTED - only to find that the emperor has no clothes! Where are all those shiny, new fresh-faced Change advocates he promised us?

Even Obama can figure out that experience is better than rhetoric when you actually have to DO something...

Let us not forget dear democrats, that Clinton was the reason Bush was elected! And let us also not forget that we were already going into a recession his last year which Bush inherited when the dot.com bubble burst. So you can get off your high horses about the last 8 years...your manical partisanship is equally to blame.

Dear Sam:

You wrote that Bill was "one of the most carasmatic leaders of the 20th century".

You do realize that the 20th century lasted 100 years. You apparently put Bill right up there with Ghandi, Roosevelt, Churchill, Mao, Lenin, Hitler, MLK, etc.

Lay off the booze dude!

Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, will be the fourth in the line of succession to become president in the event of the death of President Obama. Watch your backs Obama, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Robert Byrd.

Obama already has 73% of positions filled by former Clinton officials

idiot you should go back to school and maybe learn some math this time.. fractions and percentages are not really all that hard... he has selected less than 20% of Clinton's cabinet and NOT ONE OF THEM IS DOING THE SAME JOB! You see one of the ways you get change is to take EXPERIANCED PEOPLE with differing ideas and put them in NEW CIRCUMSTANCES and than LISTEN to all their input this usually gives new ideas than the LEADER (Obama for you idiots that cannot figure that out) makes the decision and gives the direction.. you yes it is change

As for the liar hillary as sos (same old Sh**?) I think it is a great idea, takes her out of the senate (you are welcome NY) and after she proves herself incompetant at that job also he gets to fire her and than the liar hillary and bubba get to fade away... well except from the clinton "news" network (cnn)

Vigla--You need to read the Constitution, Article 1, Section 6 states:

No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office.

The pay for the SoS has been increased during Hillary's time as a NY Senator. So, for her to be approved as the SoS, Congress would have to figure out a work around to this minor Constitutional detail such as Hillary not accepting the increased pay for her new job.

And as far as those who still believe that President-elect Obama isn't a US citizen because his birth certificate may show he was born outside the US--regardless of where he was born, his mother was a US citizen which made him one by birth. My daughter was born in Germany but she is a US citizen by birth because both I and her father are US citizens by birth.
