As I mentioned in numerous posts, I voted for Obama. I just want people to articulate themselves better. Thinks like "send him to prison" are really pointless.

Legitimate criticisms of the Bush administration regarding the Katrina response, the run-away debt, and his role in promiting policies of general de-regulation on wall street are all genuine and well deserved.

I am always careful to mention that there is blame on both sides of the aisle. Congress (majority Democrats since 2004) gave Bush all the money he wanted. Many members of the Republican party other than Bush threw away their small government, fiscal responsibility stance in favor of pupulist BS in a feeble attempt to stay in power.

At least there is one house in Dallas that Bush has not helped push into foreclosure! Those folks lucked out but then again they were most likely oil friends or baseball friends or Saudi friends anyway.

First: There is no reason to call me an idiot but if it makes you feel better, I understand.

Second: I am not saying that Bush was a good President, or that he didn't lie. I am not saying that I am a Bush supporter. For the record, I was in 2000, abstained from voting in 2004, and voted for Obama in 2008.

Third: Lying is not a war crime. If it is, we would be out many politicians on both sides of the aisle.

The only possible avenue to persue the war crimes line would be for the prisoners at Gitmo. As I mentioned in another post, the Justice Department challenged the definition of prisoner of war and believe that it does not apply to non-uniformed terrorists.

If President George W. Bush is so bad ,why haven't Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid layed those articles of impeachment on Bush that they drew up a couple years ago just before the mid-term elections??? No matter how you personally feel about Bush, you give the presidency too much importance – the last time I looked, we had three branches in our government. However, throughout history we have always tended to blame the president in office for our current problems, rarely looking at the previous administration or what Congress allowed to happen. First: I have a BS in Biology and an MS in Computer Science, so I guess that means I am educated.

Second: I live in town (a city of 100,000 or so) and I have never been called a redneck.

Third: I voted for Obama. Not because I agree with everything he says. Just as I don't disagree with everything that Bush says.

Fourth: "…study after study…" means nothing to me. I am sure that there are just as many studies that may show it works. I also question who actually performed those studies. Probably groups like Amnesty International.

I can't believe someone compared the attack on Pearl Harbor with the attack of 9/11. Bush is already recognized by most historians and analysts as one of the, if not the, worst President in history. Facts on the economy woes:
During the 12 years of rule by 2 Republican presidents Reagan and H.W. Bush, our national debt quadrupled. That is it quadrupled over the national debt accumulated during the rule of 39 Presidents and 205 year history of our country.
During the 7 years of W. Bush presidency, he single handed doubled our national debt. The budget deficit alone for this fiscal year exceeds the entire national debt of our country at the time Reagan took office.
As of Nov 4, 2008, 78% of countries national debt was accumulated under 3 Republican Presidents (Reagan, Bush and Bush). The remaining 22% of our national debt was accumulated under 39 other Presidents combined.
During Clinton's 8 years the stock market increased 324%. During 8 years of W. Bush the stock market has declined 76%. Heck it took 3 years and 4 months for the stock market to close 5 consecutive days above the point the stock market was it when W. Bush took office.
The longest recession since 1920s under W. Bush, 2nd longest under H.W. Bush, 4th longest under Reagan. Number of recessions under Clinton: 0.
This is why our country is in the predicament that it is in.

Just be sure to remember, it took an entire japanese fleet with hundreds of planes to pull off an attack against the USA under FDR. They had to attack an island, only one location was attacked. We went to war with Japan and Germany whom were openly allied in a WORLD WAR!

Bush, the bright young chap, failed to stop less then 5 planes on his attack. Not hundreds, not a fleet of ships…FIVE PLANES were too much for him to handle!

In WW2 we entered and won the wars, on two fronts, in 4 years. Bush, the super hero, exits office with no victory, 7 years later and his inability to get something done will be his lasting legacy (that and the deficit, and torture, and wire tapping, taking our freedoms away at will and with out remorse). The people that we STARTED going after…well, gee, he just simply GAVE UP chasing them and jumped into an illegal war. When no WMD's were found he tap danced around and gave us a never ending line of excuses for being there. Bush, has failed in every way, shape and form. He is a TERRIBLE president plagued by incompetence, stupidity, ignorance and stubborness. It is a joyous moment in our history to see this moron leave the white house. Once again our pride can be restored, knowing we finally got a SMART guy in office.

I wish the Bushes best of luck with their move to Dallas. I think he was a terrific president. He did whatever anyone would have done after reading those intelligence memos. Obama's move to the center is a clear indication of the inside threats that we face.

Interesting how all the radical right members say that losing ones house is because we bought something we could not afford. let me give oyu some simple FACTS

1) due to a local manufacturer closing, because the supplied parts to an auto manufacturer who cut production, the number of homes on the market quadrupled in the last three months
2) due to the increase in houses on the markets and the general overall failure of the housing market the value of the average home in my area has dropped 60% from 5 years ago.
3) Since I owe more than my house is now worth I cannot get further credit to move into a less expensive house
4)Since there are so many people in my area with the same qualifications the salaries offered those who can get a job are significantly reduced from what they were just a year ago
5)I cannot move to a different location because I cannot afford to sell my house (I put 20% down 5 years ago have made extra payments each month but you see I cannot afford to pay the 30% of the value of the home when I bought it out of my pocket, my savings and 401 are almost already depleted)
6) My mortgage was a standard fixed rate 30 loan with 20% down, I was making good money but now cannot afford to keep OR SELL my house
7)The republicans deregulated the banking industry, it had nothing to do (in my case) with fannie may or freddie mac it had to do with the deregulations of the banking industry

Don't get me wrong. To start with, Fannie and Freddie were pissed. They didn't want to do business in the poor (code word for heavy minority, urban) neighborhoods. Then they figured out that they could charge higher interest and re-sell forclosed homes for a profit (when the market was better) they were on board HUGE.

I am not saying that Bush had nothing to do with our current mess, but I am saying that he certainly isn't the only one. He isn't even the most culpable.

I will pose the challenge to you pinhead. Tell me what war crimes that Bush performed. Give me specifics. Don't spin some BS liberal party line about an un-just war. All wars are un-just in someone's eyes. Calling someone a war criminal is a very serious charge. Tell me you have examples.

In WWII, the allies firebobmed the city of Dresden in Germany and killed hundreds of thousands of civilians. They deliberately used fire bombs on Tokyyo to maximize civilian casualtees. Are these not war crimes? Why did we not charge FDR and Truman? I won't even mention Korea and Vietnam.

Fact is fact folks. War is cruel and messy. Torture is also a natural tool to be used. Tell me… deep down inside… do you really care about some prisoner in Gitmo getting water-boarded or are you just looking for more venom to fling at Bush? If Obama uses these tactics, would it be okay? Would you really question it?

PDX Gal — Bush was only in office 7 months when that happened. You might want to consider the fact that while Clinton was getting his rocks off in the oval office he was ignoring intelligence pointing to the terrorits attacks and left if to the next president to make the tough decisions.

I don't disagree with some of the comments about people who are being foreclosed on bearing some of the responsibility. But the fact of the matter is, if banks were not allowed to lend to these people, and it was common sense for them to not lend to them, we would not be in this mess. you're always going to have people who are willing to sign up for money even if it is a stretch to pay it back. But if we had the regs that said, sorry no can do, this would not have happened. Banks are in a much better position to control real estate costs also and make sure they do not stray too far from mean or median income in a given area. Instead of helping to keep this balance, they decided they needed someone; anyone on the hook for the inflated home prices sellers were charging. And I hope the Bushes close early. They should go to the bowels of Texas and not come out.

If i were Laura, I'd tell GW to go ahead and live on the "ranch", and I would stay in Dallas.
BTW, Preston Hollow is a pretty pricey neighborhood– but I wouldn't live there if they GAVE me a house. Streets are narrow & crowded & poorly laid out. Traffic & congestion are horrible in that area. And a (former) Presidential motorcade should make it even worse! (His neighbors should really be loving him in about 2-3 months.)
I have to admit– I was scared he might actually look in our area because there are a lot of mega-million dollar homes in our little town right on the verge of foreclosure (not mine– it's not mega-millions nor anywhere near foreclosure). He could have gotten a real buy on a much newer home with a lot more land though– and surrounded by professional sports jocks (which would probably have been right up his alley). Thank God he didn't come here!

I hope the soon-to-be ex-Chimp-In-Chief doesn't get too comfortable in his new digs. Once the real investigations begin here and abroad for war crimes, he, and the rest of his cabal of criminals, will be enjoying the comforts of Club Fed.

On Pearl Harbor, the USA deaths were 2,300 something compared to the 2,700 something of the World Trade Center towers.

YOu liberals hate anyone who has money, has ever been succesful, or works harder than you do (which is not hard).

Why did Bush's press secretary reveal the neighborhood they're moving to? Now every idiotic, conspiracy-theory liberal is going to try to do something stupid, like chain themselves to a tree in Bush's yard!

Mr. Bush …. now we know why you drove the economy to ditch …. you wanted to buy a house real cheap!

I celebrate that we are only weeks away from finally being rid of Bush.
I cant think of a better scene possible then to see him depart the White House and for President Barak Obama to take it.
Unfortunately though he is coming back to Texas and frankly I would rather see him moving to Florida or Ohio since those two states deserve him most.

I live in Dallas…this is very depressing…even more depressing than the announcement of layoffs at AT&T…the company I work for….talk about a bad news day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
