Has Palin snubbed Oprah?

Oprah says she wants Palin on her show.
Oprah says she wants Palin on her show.

(CNN) – Did Sarah Palin snub Oprah Winfrey?

That's what the most popular daytime talk show host and fervent Barack Obama supporter appeared to suggest in a recent interview with the entertainment show Extra.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over... I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me.”

Winfrey’s comments came in response to rumors she refused to invite the former vice presidential candidate on her popular daytime show.

Earlier this week, the talk show host announced she will tape her inauguration week show in the nation’s capital, and has rented the Kennedy Center’s lush Opera House – which seats roughly 2,300 — to serve as her studio.

“There are not even words to talk about what this night means,” Oprah said of Obama's inauguration. “Everybody keeps using the word historic — there’s never been a night like this on the planet earth… Nothing can compare to this.”

Plenty of sore heads wanting to vent against Oprah, mostly guys and conservative women who adore Palin the cheerleader simpleton, but Oprah's show ratings still sails upwards and away. Even the Florida Republican women organization failed to boycott and disrupt the show during the campaign. Oprah, you go ahead and make your loyal fans happy, and disregard these wannabe upstarts who don't watch your show anyways.

Does Oprah really have an understanding of history? There has never been a night on earth like this?

Oprah: The Civil Rights movement in this country has had far more impact than anything Obama could ever do for the plight of African American people. Palin dismissed you because you selectively hear history; you don't understand it.

Oprah has fought for years on empowering women. I think Oprah is truly a remarkable woman. But during the election I would have hoped she would have set politics aside and interview Sarah Palin for what she has accomplished as a mother and woman – the very thing Oprah has been advocating for years. Oprah made a choice during the election not to interview Sarah Palin. Oprah made her bed . . . Why in the world should Sarah Palin accommodate Oprah?

  6. Creeped Out

That last quote is what scares me about Obama (and I voted for him). The other day I watched a Frontline episode that showed Kenyan reactions to Obama – and it was madness. There was a school that had been renamed "Obama School" with giant murals of him on the wall. The principle was certain that, should Obama win, he would help her school!!! There was a bus driver with the Obama bus. Countless babies named Barak Obama. Etc.

Obviously, Mr. Obama can't control this. But it creeps me out. So Oprah truly believes that this is the ultimate night planet earth has ever seen? I don't even know where to begin. Of course it's an historic night, one of the most historic in our nation's (short) history. But no other night on earth, no other political, cultural, religious, or even environmental event can possibly rival Mr. Obama's inauguration?

Mr. Obama, I hope you and Jesus both save me from your followers!!!

WE ARE FOR NEITHER. THE LOGICAL MOVE WOULD BE NEITHER.
TO RESPOND WOULD BELITTLE THE REALITY OF WHAT MOUNTAINS WE AS ONE PEOPLE HAVE TO CLIMB TO GET JUST EVEN WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD. WE TORTURE, ALLOW OF BABIES TO BE FED POISON FOOD, LIED TO THE WORLD JUST TO KILL WOMEN AND CHILDREN AND ON AND ON. WE BEING BLACK DOCS SEE THE SAME LOGIC IN COMPARISON TO - "MEN START WARS AND WOMEN DON'T".
ON THE OTHER SIDE, MR. OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT "ELECTED" OF THESE UNITED STATES. NOT THE WHITE PRESIDENT, NOT THE BLACK PRESIDENT, NOT THE BROWN, RED,YELLOW OR ANY SHADES IN BETWEEN. HE IS THE PRESIDENT "ELECTED" OF THESE UNITED STATES THAT HAPPENS TO BE BLACK. TO SEE ANY OTHER LOGIC WOULD BE ILLOGICAL. THEN TO, LOOK AT ALL RETHIC ABOUT THESE TWO LADIES. NEITHER ONE CAN HELP US OUT OF THIS MESS THAT "THE BUSH" GOT US INTO.

Sarah is pretty so automatically she cant do anything right. Oprah backed obama, she probably paid for alot for obama somehow, what good is going to do but make oprah richer, if sarah is on the show? What i want to is why Obama preached so much change but is reinstalling the clinton administration? Another "Change" politician lies again – but he has to come up with a birth certificate somewhere... looks like chicago crooks finally made it to the white house. thanks oprah.

Thank you Opera Winfrey and Sarah Palin for such a fine display of Politics and feminism. I haven't seen a female controversy like this since WWII when a batch of nylons went on sale after being publicized the day before the sale!

Sarah Palin is a governor. She was away for the months of the campaign and has to get her budget ready, dealing with the drop in oil prices - a big deal for Alaskans.

She hasn't gone on anybody's show. She's been interviewed at her house, sat down at the Republican Governor's convention for a couple of interviews and done some remote hookups. Other than a day of campaigning for Chambliss, she's been pretty much busy.

I doubt Oprah wants to move her show to Palin's living room so that she can hold it while Palin perpares the family dinner like Greta did. Palin has many many requests for interviews, she has to pace herself.

I doubt that you can read much into her not dropping everything to go on Oprah. And if she did, you'd say she should be back in Alaska doing her job.

Gov Palin should snub Oprah. Oprah was very biased and politcal during the campaign. If I were Palin, I would NOT give Oprah the satisfaction of higher ratings by gracing her talkshow.

Who cares what Sarah Palin says at this point – she is just trolling for publicity but she is so O-V-E-R ... She had her moment in the sun and doesn't seem to love Alaska enough to go home ...

In reference to the last comment, is it because he is black? Have we not proven that we are beyond that yet? Better yet, will he not acknowledge the he is biracial? Oprah is over rated. Why do we not hope for the best that this great country has to offer and pray that it will continue. Hopefully the checks and balances that our constitution has provided us will keep us going the way that made us the greatest nation in the world.

I hope Oprah enjoys her last days as Queen of TV. She made the biggest mistake of her life getting involved in politics. She has lost her base. She has shown herself as a true member of Rev. Wright's church.
When she said she finally has hope, she should the world how ungrateful she was to her audience who made her one of the wealthiest women in the world. It could not happen anywhere else but in the USA. Let's see how wealthy people become with the Obama administration.

I don't blame Palin one bit. She doesn't need Oprah.
