The people on this blog are hilarious - either that, or they are eleven year olds!

You think one election ends a party? A party that got millions and millions of votes with the worst run campaign and the weakest candidates imaginable? You're living in a dream world.

It is human nature, imperfect and sinful, just wait and see the Democrats fighting for personal ambition in the near future, power corrupts. History is our witness. Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barrack Obama are no role models, saints, or even supermen, for the rest of the world, when it comes to ego, morality, purity and... addiction to nicotine.

I'm about to lose my job. Dang! I wish someone other than Obama won. I don't think he knows anything about the economy and is a big phony. He lied about public campaign funds and laughed when they asked him about it. When we ask him for help he is going to laugh in our face you wait and see.

Dang it! This is reality people

just love all of the racist comments from blacks on the inauguration blog--they seem to be able to get away with it. Palin was nowhere in the article and someone took the opportunity to call her names--only nice comments from Dems are about their saviour--Obama--no nice comments at all for anyone else--don"t ask people to support your choice when you cannot say a civil thing about theirs. Suddenly liberals have become very pious--but only about their hallowed candidate.

Carlo, Raleigh NC I think you must have your religious blinders on. The republican party has been trying to cram religion down the throats of America for the past 30 years. The republican party this past election pulled out every one of the negatives I mentioned. They also made it a point to use religion at every turn, from God determining the election, to God helping us win the war in Iraq, to praying publicly every chance they got. This was being done by people who waited in line spewing racial slurs, and disgusting comments that all of America should have found offensive. By the way I am not religious, and do not read the bible as I find it totally fiction. The republican party at this point I would describe as COMEDY.

I have never been a Republican, but have admired many individuals of that party. Today however, there seems to be no leader, no objectives, no progams or policies that can benifit our country ,our people, or our elected President. The slash and burn approach has outlived it's usefulness. Give it up, and start doing the right thing for our country.

Republicans will be fine. It was only four years ago that the Dems were in an incredibly similar situation. Ultimately, the truly intelligent "Idea" men/women with a conservative ideological bent will regain control, and tons of moderate conservatives that voted for obama will have to reevaluate the political landscape once again.
This election proved, more than anything, that most American's prefer to be united, as opposed to labeled by their political philosophy. That was made Reagan great, not his policies, or the fact that he was republican, but that he made everyone feel that they were a part of America and a part of the solution. Hopefully, that is a lesson Obama learned as well.
It would also help if the RNC attempted to abide by any of their core beliefs beyond social issues. I mean, was fiscal sanity always a term in national politics, or is that like a recent ( i.e. last 8 years) things...

shucks 3:51pm
Wow, I hope you're not trying to connect religion it's self with racisim etc directly, and in fact your attempts to connect the replublican party with such things is incorrect. Seriously, you need to open your eyes to the world around you. About the only thing you wrote that I agree with is the seperation of church and state, that I do believe is important and in fact if you are religious and study the bible there is a strong case contained with in the text for the seperation of church and state on a theological level as well.

You have to wonder what would be happening to this party had McCain not shot himself in the foot by voting for the bailout and actually won the election? I suspect these problems have been simmering for a long time and are just now percolating to the surface. The party needs to figure out what they stand for and then how to get that clear message out. As long as they bicker and argue and accuse each other, they will lose even more ground in Michigan and nationally. I also don't see Palin's narrow bigoted viewpoint as that direction. She appeals to people like her, but absolutely no one else, and she seems unwilling to bend enough to broaden her support. Look at what happened to their voters. People may have liked McCain, but couldn't imagine her in charge. Or they may love her, but didn't like McCain's changing positions. Either way, they couldn't garner enough votes, and without him, I doubt she'll make it through the 2012 primary season, if she even maintains her governorship in 2010. So if she's their leader, they are in trouble for a good long while.

@228ro: well, at least you neo-tards are consistent.......blame the [D]s for EVERYTHING, even your own party's moronic in-fighting. This from people who buy the baloney that their [R] party represents personal responsibility. [R]s in office have not shown any personal responsibility for decades.

The [R] party will not revive itself until it rejects its vacuous rightwing ideologies and openly admits to the policy mistakes its leaders have made. True conservatives will know what I'm talking about; the rest of you are just reactionary hacks that enjoy the label 'conservative', even though it doesn't fit, and have not a clue that you are destroying what the [R] used to be.

What happened to the 11th commandment? Sadly, it's become another fallacy.

It may be time for my former Republican Party to go the way of the Whigs. Perhaps we could then abolish the two-party system altogether. George Washington was right in his keen foresight of the division these parties would create.

If there were no parties, politicians would have to stand on their own merits, instead of hiding behind misguided political affiliations. Just a thought.

Dx in TX, I am so sick and tired of all the blessings, enlightened religious quotes, and all the bible thumping going on in this country. The constitution protects religious freedom but also the right to be free from religion. Hence the division of Church and State. I just once would like to hear someone stick up for those of us who don't need a religious crutch to get through our daily lives. Christian = Republican, which also includes anger, racism, hatred, fear and divisiveness. I'd rather go without!!!!!

@Liar, liar: you have named yourself well. But indeed, Dems. do fight amongst themselves. So what? What's your point?...... as I suspected, there is no 'point' in a vacuum.

OK then, I'll add some context to your drivel. Today's [D] party is a much broader coalition that today's [R] party, even as the [R] party is becoming narrower and narrower, more rightwing. Disagreements and 'fights' about policy directions, etc. are to be expected in the broader [D] coalition. The fights within the narrow [R] coalition are something else again, like the one reported. But I love to see [R]s eating their own because of base jealousies and to see who can move even further to the right, even further into narrow rightwing ideology. I hope they become so narrow, that they disappear altogether.

228ro, You had to have gone to the same school as Palin. You are about as misinformed as you can get. Now the democrats get blamed for the republican party imploding? I have never met a republican that takes blame for anything when it is so much easier to blame someone else. Thank goodness your party is out of office for at least the next 8 years, and if what is going on in the party continues, maybe 16 years or more.

In response to: Former KS Repub,
Thank you so much for your post. The religious right has not lived up to promoting Christ-like behavior. They have ruined how most of us now view Christianity and the Repub party.
Their actions truly do speak louder than words, and they have been so haughty, divisive, and prideful. Let's take our country back with balanced actions, genuine respect and extension of grace to ALL people. "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."

The RNC needs a leader of vision, creative problem solving, and a sincere belief in rational conservative thinking as evidenced in the leadership of Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Gerald Ford, and others of their ilk. The GOP does not need another political hack to head up the party. I would like to see someone with the intellect and political acumen equal to that of Newt Gingrich.

Unfortunately Pam in Oregon, if you had been paying attention the Independents have gotten nowhere and probably never will because of the system. The only real option is to infiltrate the current party's and change them. The democrat party is only now starting to change after 30 years of trying. The GOP will have a very hard time because it is run by self centered ideologues who really care nothing about the people just the next election.

I strongly believe that God shines a light of truth from time to time. The true spirit of the RNC has been revealed to us. It's unfortunate that some Republicans cannot do the one thing that will make us whole as a nation and that's working together to do great things for all Americans.

The Republican party of old no longer exist and I can not relate to the party of the past decade and a half that seems to be ruled by contempt. The religious right (an I am a born again Christian but not an intollerant hate filled religious righter) spews hate for anyone who does not believe like them on certain key issues, and the rest of the part turned into inmoral corrupt hateful that defined the words corruption and greed. Even Elizabeth Dole who I have always respected sank lower than a snake in her attack on a fellow Christian. I have concluded that my former party is corrupt to the bone and beyond salvaging. Many of my friends voted Dem. for the first time in their lives this last election. Pride cometh before a fall. Our party had become prideful, boastful bullies and now we have paid the price. Now I am no longer a Repub and after Jeb Bushes comment of setting up a shadow gov. I do not believe I will EVER return.

With all those informations given, a simple fact check will sufice.
However, Mr Auzis said nothing about the debt in a non election year. How's that possible?

In order to survive and flourish, the RNC must lose their rhetoric of hate and fear and incendiary language. I truly don't believe the American people are going to "buy" any of that anymore -- ever!

Wow
Talk about infighting and back biting! What you have just read is true for the entire RNC.
They can't agree on anything. They have no idea who they are moving forward. I once belonged to this party that claimed to believe in strong fiscal responsibility and smaller government. Look at the mess we/they are in now with no for way out.
It will take years to find a new direction for them. It is apparent that the two party system is on its way out.
I have become a registered Independent and hope my new party can find a way to represent the people who are not far left loons but also do not pound their bibles. I believe you will find most of us somewhere in the middle.

As long as Obama stays a "unifier" the Republicans will not be able to unite themselves as they only seem to be able to rally around common goals. In these times, brought to us by this Republican party, they have no one to now blame but themselves as is evident as we watch the cannabalization of the GOP.
