More spending on Palin revealed

Spending on Palin's clothes, makeup and hair made headlines during the campaign.
Spending on Palin's clothes, makeup and hair made headlines during the campaign.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – The Republican National Committee's total fashion bill for Sarah Palin's nine-week stint on the GOP presidential ticket is in: $180,000.

That's $30,000 more than the RNC previously disclosed it had spent outfitting and styling the Alaska governor and her family, according to Politico and the RNC's latest filings with the Federal Elections Commission.

The latest filing, which includes the final 3 weeks of the presidential race, shows the committee directed close to $55,000 to Palin's fashion stylist, New York-based Lisa Kline.

The RNC also spent close to $24,000 in several high end stores, including Ann Taylor, Bloomingdales, Brooks Brothers, Neiman's, Nordstrom, Macy's, Saks, Target, and Victoria's Secret.

The RNC has said all the clothes purchased will be donated to charity.

Meanwhile, the McCain campaign paid a total of $110,000 on Palin's traveling hair and makeup stylists, according to the New York Times and the McCain campaign's latest FEC filing.

News surfaced shortly before Election Day that Republicans had shelled out more than $150,00 on Palin and her family in clothing costs - a revelation that posed an unnecessary distraction for the struggling McCain campaign, and undercut Palin's hockey-mom credentials.

Exactly why this ridiculous, out-of-touch woman from an even more ridiculous, out-of-touch Republican Party doesn't belong anywhere near a public office every again. Alaska, I feel for you, being stuck with her for another two years. (Unless of course you can get rid of her on all those ethics charges...)

I hope that none of that turkey blood last week got splattered onto her fancy duds and then soaked through to her fancy under-duds.

She's a joke and it's kinda good to have something to laugh about when everything else is such a mess.

PS–doesn't matter what the other guys' clothes cost because they paid for them themselves. Though I might add that the Obamas routinely shop at Target and the Gap for clothes. And then there's that famous photo of Barack with his feet up and the holes in his shoes are showing. So, um, yeah...no $180K spending sprees there.

Please let this woman return and stay in Alaska.

Every time she speaks my eyebrows tend to take on a uni-brow look as I cannot for the life of me figure out what she is talking about. It only took Ms. Nightmare six years + how many schools to get her communications degree (ha ha)!

Some of the people love her though. You would think that America has had enough of one dim wit, GWB, and now another.

    Again, America, wake up!
Just like the emperor (GWB), the emperess (SP) is not wearing any clothes - shush!
    Quiet, don't tell anyone!

Just goes to show you how popular Sarah Palin remains and will continue to remain. She can't belch without the news reporting it. Her clothes were FABULOUS, and Hillary couldn't have pulled off one of Sarah Palin's suits, even though Hillary's are just as expensive or even more. As for $150,000, $300,000 or more....can't you see that's just a drop in the bucket compared to the $$$ Obama spent stealing and buying this election. Get used to Sarah Palin's beautiful face, common sense approach and her Size 4 body that can wear GUCCI, even after 5 kids. YOU ARE ALL JUST JEALOUS!!!

To absolve themselves, the RNC should auction the clothes, then donate the proceeds to charity, except for the underwear, of course.

If the RNC hadn't purchased appropriate clothing for Gov. palin and her family, would all you naysayers have ridiculed how she looked? Would you have made fun of her KMart, JC Penney and Sears clothing? She can't win for losing. The McCain/Palin ticket lost. We got over it. Why can't you? Leave her alone already. Watch and wait for your candidate to do what he said he'd do.

I thought this freekin woman was a conservative hockey mom and politician. Sarah Palin should have laid out what she wanted to wear to the RNC. Where was her mouth? She had a big mouth to read out the lies they wrote for her about President Elect Obama on the campaign trail. What is amazing about this nuthead that Blitzer thinks the world about is she feels that she is never wrong. This woman is a MONEY SPENDER and all AMERICANS will remember her the next time. NFG.

Listen people, I am from Alaska and have iived here for over 10 years. Palin is a wack-job. If you knew her and followed her for the past several years, you would see the light as well. I wish another state would take her as gov. She is evil.

Brian> The difference is, Obama and Biden pay for their suits and hair (hahaha) out of their own pockets. Political donations are not supposed to be used to clothe a candidate.

Cat> Not only that, but silk boxers for her husband? Really?

Sorry to burst your bubble writer.

Yes, she is still wearing all of it.

Barry and others, you said "who cares". We care. Yes, we care. So there.

Why don't you all stop your hate of Palin or as a matter of fact for all women running for the office of the Presidency. You all have displaced anger for your mothers or women in general otherwise I see no reason for such spewed hatred.

Put the dunce cap on soulstar. I guess you didn't see how popular Sarah Palin became? A charity can auction off these clothes items and make more than what the clothes were purchased for.

I voted against Obama and his crazy record Bigman. Hopefully he's a completely different president than he was a legislator.
