(CNN) - Jon Favreau, future White House director of speechwriting, has so far been at a loss for words over Facebook pictures of him at a recent party.
Pictures of Favreau, 27, at a recent party appeared on Facebook Friday. In one of the photos, Favreau, who served as President-elect Barack Obama’s chief speechwriter during the campaign season, was dancing with a life-sized cardboard cut-out of future secretary of state Hillary Clinton. In a second photo, a friend was offering the cutout a bottle of beer while Favreau stood beside the likeness with his hand on the cardboard New York senator’s chest.
The picture was reportedly up for a scant two hours or so before Favreau removed it, along with every other picture of himself beyond his profile photo - but there’s no getting the Facebook genie back in the bottle.
Favreau wasn’t talking to reporters about the incident, but transition officials said he had offered an apology to Clinton.
The Clinton camp reaction? "Sen. Clinton is pleased to learn of Jon's obvious interest in the State Department, and is currently reviewing his application," Clinton aide Philippe Reines told the Washington Post.

Jut more of that change we can believe in...
So he likes 'em with experience...nothing wrong with that...
i am glad to see there is still humor in politics. we take everything to serious these days. let these kids have fun and bring life into an otherwise glummy situation we face as a nation.
And ? why it's big deal ?
For years I've been telling the kids that they will regret all the dumb things they post on these sites. When will this generation learn that not everyone cares about their parties and activities and some who do only want to harm them.
Let's get back to a little privacy in this country!!!!
Ooops!
Good for Hillary's side. Proves that some people really can move beyond "gotcha" politics, and with humor too.
I'm a big Obama fan, but this is not the image you want out there of your speechwriter – the guy who puts words in your mouth. This wasn't just disrespectful to Senator Clinton and women. This was stupid and made his boss look bad. There are other wordsmiths out there, and this one should be looking for a new job.
Bye, Jon!
Wow...good to see that even someone from my generation has little respect for women and would do something stupid like that.
Oh those youthful hijinx!
Why, someone in their 20s got a little drunk and did some goofy things at a party? Well I never would've guessed THAT!
Seriously, who cares?
I would dance with Obama's cardboard cut-out anytime
were can I get one ? I mean Obama's ofcourse.
Umm..... Director of WH Speech Writing? OK..... wondered where all those great speeches came from.... funny, Obama never mentioned grabbing somebody's boobies. LOL.
if this is as bad as the scandals get in this administration, then i'm looking forward to the next four years.
So this guy wrote his speeches? Maybe he should write his own instead of letting this creep do it!
These guys were just having fun. No harm was intended. Even Hilary knows that.
Fire him!
lol...correction..."she knows this is NOT something to make a mountain out of a moe hill"
lol...correction..."she knows this is NOT something to make a mountain out of a moe hill".
hahaha this is pretty funny.
As an ardent Obama supporter, I find this act deplorable. The guy should be fired regardless of his talent as a speechwriter.
Fire him - establish a zero tolerance policy. He's now a liability for President elect Obama and anyone who works with him in the Obama White House.
This is just the beginning....
I think this photo looks like a person holding up the poster, not necessarily cupping any particular part of anatomy. I am all in favor of respect for women, but more is being read into this than should be. The press likes to make something out of nothing when it can. Cheers to the response from the Clinton group.
HE needs to be fired.
