Obama speechwriter Favreau learns the perils of Facebook

(CNN) - Jon Favreau, future White House director of speechwriting, has so far been at a loss for words over Facebook pictures of him at a recent party.

Pictures of Favreau, 27, at a recent party appeared on Facebook Friday. In one of the photos, Favreau, who served as President-elect Barack Obama’s chief speechwriter during the campaign season, was dancing with a life-sized cardboard cut-out of future secretary of state Hillary Clinton. In a second photo, a friend was offering the cutout a bottle of beer while Favreau stood beside the likeness with his hand on the cardboard New York senator’s chest.

The picture was reportedly up for a scant two hours or so before Favreau removed it, along with every other picture of himself beyond his profile photo - but there’s no getting the Facebook genie back in the bottle.

Favreau wasn’t talking to reporters about the incident, but transition officials said he had offered an apology to Clinton.

The Clinton camp reaction? "Sen. Clinton is pleased to learn of Jon's obvious interest in the State Department, and is currently reviewing his application," Clinton aide Philippe Reines told the Washington Post.

    Get him out.
If you aren't mature enough to conduct yourself like a professional then you obviously aren't suited for this administration.
    27 years old?
    Grow up, kid.

I am a a hardcore Conservative and normally would not feel much sympathy for a fallen Liberal. I do believe that Mr. Faverau, having acheived such a prominent position in President Obama's administration would be well advised to cultavate some common sence and discreation. I do, however, also believe that If Senator Clinton is not overally concerned, then why should the rest of us be. Yes it is sexist, irresponsable, and stupid, but If the man can right speeches that inspire our citizens, then let him do his job. Maybe the President elect should take all Mr. Faverau's electronic devises away. My real point is that this country is facing many difficult issues, so lets focus on the real issues and move beyond the tabloid garbage so many Americans focus on. I support my President and pray that he has a successful 4 years. I am not open minded enough to hope he has 8 good years!

Who the heck cares about this? Honestly. I'm so tired of the media covering these events where people are supposed to say, "I'm sorry" all the time. It loses its merit completely in Politics. It is truly NO different than when a child apologizes for hitting his/her brother or sister and the parent says, "Now, say you're sorry."

I can't stand this. He was at a party, blowing off steam and having a good time. He hurt no one and I would much rather see this than all of the priests molesting little boys or Politicians embezzling money...really, is this what we care about? Do you think the people in the Mumbai attacks care about this? WHO CARES?

I feel for this kid. It's the media that stinks here....ooooh scandal. Hey, the guy likes Hilary enough to have a cut out of her, and he's gentleman enough to offer her a beer. He's legal. Let's get on with the news. Good for the Hillary camp to appear to have a bit of sense of humor.

I love the Cinton's camp reaction. Harmless fun. Lighten up people just because W. Bush put us into a depression doesn't mean we have to be depressed.

Everyday the Obama Administration gives me something new to smile about. This one however got an actual laugh.

It was dumb and stupid for him to do that. But what do you expect from a 27 year old. I have done much worse, and if there is anyone here who hasn't, then God forgive you for leading such a boring life.

Just another 20-something-year-old just being lude and crude after a few drinks. So what, who cares, let's focus on the bigger issues, shall we?

Pres-Elect Obama needs to set the tone for his staff. This type of juvenile behavior is not acceptable.

The headline should be "Obama's Speech Writer Grabs Hillary's Breast"
or "Obama's Speech Writer Disrespectful of Hillary"

not some lame cop out headline about "learning about facebook."
