Obama speechwriter Favreau learns the perils of Facebook

This photo of Favreau and Clinton appeared on Facebook Friday.

(CNN) - Jon Favreau, future White House director of speechwriting, has so far been at a loss for words over Facebook pictures of him at a recent party.

Pictures of Favreau, 27, at a recent party appeared on Facebook Friday. In one of the photos, Favreau, who served as President-elect Barack Obama’s chief speechwriter during the campaign season, was dancing with a life-sized cardboard cut-out of future secretary of state Hillary Clinton. In a second photo, a friend was offering the cutout a bottle of beer while Favreau stood beside the likeness with his hand on the cardboard New York senator’s chest.

The picture was reportedly up for a scant two hours or so before Favreau removed it, along with every other picture of himself beyond his profile photo - but there’s no getting the Facebook genie back in the bottle.

Favreau wasn’t talking to reporters about the incident, but transition officials said he had offered an apology to Clinton.

The Clinton camp reaction? "Sen. Clinton is pleased to learn of Jon's obvious interest in the State Department, and is currently reviewing his application," Clinton aide Philippe Reines told the Washington Post.

This is the kind of disrespect that the Obama Team has had for months now towards anything Clinton. Why is it that everyone on that team was agains the Clintons and now for them? I have never understood that particular argument on behalf of Michelle and all Samantha. All the leaked pictures we get came from the Obama campaing, not from the Clinton campaing.........makes me wonder who was really smearing whom??

Nothing new, we all new the Obama camp was being sexist. Only the media turned a blind eye. Or not Honey??? Remember? I don't blame Obama for that line anymore now I know he probably got it from his speech writer. I just hope Obama's speeches will be as good as before now Jon Favreau will be gone.

Don't apologize. It was done in jest and there is nothing wrong with that. Hillary would probably welcome the action if she could get it.

Shame of Favreau; what is shown is obsene and offensive; Clinton's response isn't any better.

I know my next comment doesn't belong in this ticker, but I hope CNN publishes it anyway (since the comments for that ticker is closed). Regarding Sarah Palin's wardrobe, Repubs seem to forget the real issue: The issue is not how much was spent; instead, if there are receipts to prove her wardrobe came from Neiman's and I heard with my own ears Sarah saying she never "shopped" at Neiman's, seems to indicate someone is lying (either RNC or Sarah) and I'd like to get to the bottom of it!!!!!

Are we supposed to be shocked, or surprised?
I would expect no less from Obama's camp. Obama was the one who advised Clinton supporters to "get over it" after he clinched the nomination.
Ladies, our 'rights' begin and end with abortion.
As for the rest, well, take Obama's advice and get over it.
    Yes, change is here.

Everyone needs to lighten up...Not everything has to be serious...We all need to have a sense of humor...The younger generation can actually be competent and let off steam...

  14. Sounds like Hillary wants some action.

Seems like Hillary is offering a "come on" to someone. Either she's not getting much or she's looking to get even with Bill.

Is this conduct becoming a Sec. of State???

Whether you like Hillary or not, this is wrong!! He is obviously an immature sexist with total lack of judgment to publicly do something like this. Obama should have fired him!!!!!
