(CNN) – Sarah Palin's camp is denying claims she's is snubbing talk show host Oprah Winfrey, telling CNN Monday the decision was "nothing personal" - the Alaska governor has just been flooded with so many media requests she simply hasn't had the time to sit down with the daytime talk show icon.
“The governor was invited to appear. She was also invited to appear on Letterman, Leno, Stephanopoulos, The Daily Show. She passed on a vast majority of these requests," Bill McAllister, Palin's communications director and press secretary.
"We’re up to about 250 requests for interviews and appearances and so on. It’s worldwide, there’s still a tremendous amount of interest. It’s nothing personal about Oprah, it’s just that she turned down the vast majority of these requests."
A Palin appearance at a later date is still possible, said McAllister: “I’m not aware that it’s been ruled out.”
Winfrey - the popular daytime talk show host and strong Barack Obama supporter - seemed to suggest last week that Palin was deliberately avoiding her show.
"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over…" she said in an interview with the entertainment show Extra. "I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me.”
Winfrey’s comments came in response to rumors she'd refused to offer an invitation to the former vice presidential candidate.

Diva vs Diva. Nothing to see here, folks... move along, move along....
If Governor Palin wants to be serious contender in 2012, she should do the Sunday Morning talk shows. In the meantime, she should interview with Barbara Walters one-on-one. Always interviewing with Fox News really isn't a plus. Fox News is slanted Republican anyway.
Honey, this is America. Palin will be on Oprah's show, whenever Palin is ready.
Failin Palin the Wasilla Hillbilly is irrelevant, CNN. Why do you all insist? NOT NEWS and definitely not political ticker material.
I'd still like to know WHY she should appear anywhere!? Betcha' she gets the burnout by February...
who cares!!!
Why should Sarah Palin appear on Opera? Opera is A male hating Tax grabbing Liberal who don't deserve to have a real person on her show. She was Biased in the Campaign so why should she be allowed privileges now. Opera should take her shovanist biased ways and stick them where the sun don't shine. I'm just glad some people are really informed and don't just take Operas word for truth as it is rare that it is.
I doubt very much if Palin would allow herself to be interviewed by Oprah. Oprah might and would ask real questions of Palin, not like the softball questions with no follow up that Fox News throws at her. Palin couldn't even answer what she reads. I guess she didn't to say that she only reads the funny pages of "All the papers". She's a joke and the more she talks, the more we find out how much she doesn't know. If she wants anything to do in 2012, she better spend the next four years reading the news instead of the funny pages. She should take some English courses as well.
PLEASE STOP REPORTING THIS NONSENSE.
Ms Winfrey isn't going to lose any sleep or money if ole dO-dO brain can't wrap her teeney little peapod around the idea.
But I think Palin turned down going before the millions of Oprah viewers because she's just not ready to give another interview that could ask some REAL questions of her.
Think About It.... She was only on the ticket for 8 weeks:
-She spent the first 3 weeks evading the press.
-The 4th week she did the Katie Couric interview, during which it became clear "why" she was evading the press.
-The 5th week she avoided all news while the McCain camp did damage control.
-The 6th week she sat down with Charlie Gibson and didn't know the countries involved in NAFTA.
-Weeks 7 and 8 she did interviews with Hannity and Fox News anchors (the friendly GOP press) because they didn't play "gotcha" by asking her more about the Bush doctrine.
-Oh and she got crunk on SNL.
This woman isn't prepared to sit on Oprah's couch. Hell, she's not even ready to sit on her floor.
Sorry BB, Palin is Wailin' and on track for 2012.
JP
I hope Sarah never appears on OW's show. She was selective in who she did do on the show and her bias showed. Hope she disappears from TV soon!
I guess Oprah's ego must be pretty big if she thinks just because Palin did a few interviews with others, she owed one to Oprah.
Palin makes me wanna puke.
Palin is trailer park trash. Who cares if she snubs Oprah or not...
Obama-prah is a whining baby. Being a black woman she always expects to get here way. Too bad! Expect the race card to be played next.
Palin 1, O what a waste of space 0
WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Move along.
Palin may think she's important but Oprah is a mutli-billionaire who's contributed far more to the world than Palin could ever do in Hilbilly Wasilla. Which means frankly my dear, "SHE DOESN'T GIVE A HOOT" if you show up on her show or not. I won't affect Oprah's ratings or her $$$$.
I just wish somebody would hit the Hockey Mom with a puck to shut her up. It's like she's begging for attention nobody really cares about.
To BB
Leave Palin alone. She'll make a great VP in 2012. I can see her as a VP, but nothing beyond that. She needs training wheels. And dont count her out. She draws out lots of conservatives out. However, I'm not ready for an elephant to be put back in 2012 or 2016.
Really? Who cares? The majority of us in America do not care for Sarah Palin. I wouldn't consider anything she does to be a snub!
I hope that Orpah doesn't make a big deal about Palin. It is just not that important.
Let's see an hour on Oprah or 10 minutes with Lauer
An hour on Oprah or 2 hours with Greta Van Sustren ... hmm ... let's see
In both cases, she gets broader exposure with Oprah .... then again Sarah may not want that type of revealing exposure.
Let us not forget, Obama went on O'Reilley's show.
Wow, it's time for Oprah getting a dose of her own medicine at last. No snub whatsoever as you haven't been ruled out yet, your Highest, but you just have to wait like everybody else. Maybe there's a chance in four years.
Palin on Oprah is a joke.... why would Oprah want her on the show?
We're sick of Palin and her idiocy.
Oh yeah, like she's ready to give interviews now the campaign is over..
Too bad Caroline Kennedy is gonna make sure she's just a flash-in-a-pan
Kennedy/Chelsea 2016
KENNEDY ! KENNEDY
