Palin didn't snub Oprah, spokesman says

Palin didn't snub Oprah, a spokesman said.

(CNN) – Sarah Palin's camp is denying claims she's is snubbing talk show host Oprah Winfrey, telling CNN Monday the decision was "nothing personal" - the Alaska governor has just been flooded with so many media requests she simply hasn't had the time to sit down with the daytime talk show icon.

“The governor was invited to appear. She was also invited to appear on Letterman, Leno, Stephanopoulos, The Daily Show. She passed on a vast majority of these requests," Bill McAllister, Palin's communications director and press secretary.

"We’re up to about 250 requests for interviews and appearances and so on. It’s worldwide, there’s still a tremendous amount of interest. It’s nothing personal about Oprah, it’s just that she turned down the vast majority of these requests."

A Palin appearance at a later date is still possible, said McAllister: “I’m not aware that it’s been ruled out.”

Winfrey - the popular daytime talk show host and strong Barack Obama supporter - seemed to suggest last week that Palin was deliberately avoiding her show.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over…" she said in an interview with the entertainment show Extra. "I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me.”

Winfrey’s comments came in response to rumors she'd refused to offer an invitation to the former vice presidential candidate.

Jeez, people! Get a grip! Oprah wasn't implying that she was snubbed. Everyone just reads crap into everything nowadays. It's really pathetic.

    Hey BB,

people who refer to palin as a "hillbilly" are no better than people who refer to blacks as "lazy", jews as "cheap" or any other derogatory remark towards fellow americans. I guess your initials BB must stand for just your Basic Bigot.

So who's Oprah that our political leaders have to feel obligated to give her an interview? Just like that Preacher 'what's his name' that the candidates had to go to to get his blessing in order to run their campaign. She's another one of those people who are really impressed with themselves, who look themselves in the mirror every morning
and just say 'Ahhhhh' I'm been saying for years that she's a big phony, just like that psycho psychologist she gave birth to, Dr. Phil. Don't we ever wake up?

Palin is cute, but cute don't (for empahsis) get you to the top of the ticket.
She'll need to go to Oprah at some point. In which case, Oprah might just decide that the snub was itentional.

And another thing. When will our political leaders act to restore dignity to their elected offices by granting interviews only to newspapers, newsmagazines, and network news organizations, in other words – journalists, and not talk shows, late nite shows, comediens, and other mindless fluff? You only get the respect you earn. I, for one, choose not to vote for a candidate who insults the dignity of his office by appearing on Letterman, Oprah, Leno, or what have you.

Nor did I think there was anything to it. Nothing against Oprah, but who really cares who is on her show, or any show for that matter.

What'st the matter Oprah? Are your feelings hurt? Too bad, so sad. I guess that's the way it goes. Palin doesn't owe you anything, and you don't deserve to have Palin on your show. You made it clear that you were an Obama supporter because the two of you are black, and Palin is white. We all get it. Why don't you get Barack to be on your show?

  16. Have you seen Oprah lately???

She's put on about 50 lbs. and looks enormous--she's back to wearing the moo moo dresses--bringing Sarah Barracuda on the show will only hurt her fragile ego as she continues to balloon up--

ARRGGHH, more Palin. The new president hasn`t even been inaugurated and they are already trying to campaign. I wish we would learn from the British and limit campaigns to 6 weeks. This last campaign was outright disgusting, I didn`t even listen to the news anymore. Please CNN, don`t tell me you are gonna give publicity to people who want to campaign for four years.

First of all, Oprah was asked about the issue. She did not just come out and complain about Palin refusing to come on her show. Second, it is her show. I'm sure most of the people complaining don't watch it. I don't. Third, she had Obama on her show BEFORE the primaries not DURING. If she wasn't goint to have anyone campaigning on her show or promoting themselves, it was her right to do so. You might have a point if she had him on during the campaign. But I seriously doubt that she really wants to have Palin on her show anyway.

    To Bill at 6:30...

White woman speaking here...if you think that black women always expect to get their way, can you do us all a favor and go post your insane ideas on the Fox blog?

I'm sure that you have really healthy relationships with the women in your life, nah, you're probably on your 3rd wife...good luck with life, pal.

She's probably afraid of what Oprah will ask. The last thing she needs is a Katie Couric moment and you can believe that Oprah isn't going to be any less intense that Couric.
