Rove vows to 'name names'

Rove says he will name his enemies in a new book.
Rove says he will name his enemies in a new book.

(CNN) – Enemies of President Bush take heed: Karl Rove is set to name names.

The man widely credited with Bush's two presidential victories says his new book will include an accounting of those in Washington who never accepted the president as a legitimate commander-in-chief.

"I've got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States," Rove told Cox News in an interview published Sunday. "I'm going to name names and show examples."

Rove signed a deal with publishing giant Simon & Schuster last year, reported be worth over $1.5 million.

In the wide-ranging interview, Rove also suggested the criticisms the president and his aides took were partly because they were not part of the Washington establishment.

"You'll notice there was outrage when it was thought that I was the person behind outing Valerie Plame. And then when it came out that it was the sainted [Deputy Secretary of State] Richard Armitage, there was no interest," Rove said. "I don't remember seeing anybody camped out on his doorstep like they were camped out on mine. [It's]because he was part of the acceptable culture of Washington, and I was not. I was one of those Texans who came up. He was one of those perpetual I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you'll-scratch-mine Washington leakers. "

Rove is dreaming. We didn't accept the Bush administration because they were the worst and least competent since the reign of George III. Most of us thought it was apalling that anyone would out a covert agent, and that whoever did it should be tried for treason. That had nothing to do with in or out of Washington. Introspection is definitely not the strength of this crowd, which refuses to take responsibility for any of the disasters – Afghanistan, Iraq, Katrina, the Economy – that they have caused over the last eight years. Finally, they are on the way out and all we have to do is refuse to buy their books.

This is simply part of Rove's attempt to recast himself. This is just the "American" way of creating controvesy because controvesy sells. If you really want to change the tide, don't buy the book.

Enemies of Karl Rove . . . hmm. What's that gonna be . . . about a thousand volume tome?

At this point, I think most people would relish "enemy of Karl Rove" on their resume.

Perhaps Obama will get the same treatment in Washington....but maybe not. He claims to be an "outsider" but he is the most "insider" version of an "outsider" that I've ever seen. Long-time Washington insiders (Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Clinton, Frank, Dodd, and more) just LOVE Obama.....so he certainly isn't an "outsider." The Washington Post loves him too.

Looking forward to reading Rove's book.

Oh Jeez, here he goes again. No gives a flying hoot about who Rove considers enemies. Rove is part of the poison that's debilitated our country for the past eight years; Rove was part of the effort to steal the 2000 election. We know what you're all about, phat Karl, now go away.

What a shock that Dr. Evil wants to "Name Names". The guy obviously still doesn't get it, obviously never will. Thank goodness we will soon be done with his brand of self-absorbed paranoia, and that soon the only people that need hear from him again are his fellow hate-filled paranoids from conservative talk-radio.

Yeah....we're going to ask that you not leave the country Mr. Rove. We're probably going to have some questions for you once Bush leaves office.

Oh please add my name to your list, Karl. Not only have I never accepted Bush as a legitimate commander-in-chief, I have never accepted you as a legitimate human being. You will go down in history as the architect of the WORST presidency in American history, and all the name-naming in the world won't change that.

Karl Rove is "naming names"? I would file this under the heading of "who cares"? Bush has been named by many sources to be one of worst Presidents in US history, and now people from within the Bush camp want to point fingers at everyone else for their incompetence?

It would serve Karl Rove to remember that when you point your finger at someone there are three more fingers pointing right back at you.

Iincredible! I found only one comment defending Rowe and that was actually a barb aimed at liberals. Does that appear ominous for book sales?

Where can I sign up so you can name my name? I am proud to say I never considered voting for Bush. And I wish I could say the same for the rest of the people in my state.

Karl Rove, you, Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld and all the "legal" rat attorneys you guys put in place should all go to Hell. You kissed this country's constitution and congress goodbye. May each of you in your dreams be visited by every american soldier killed and wounded in Iraq. Also, sweet dreams from the Iraqi civilians you guys killed. Do you even have a clue what you have done to the American people and the global economy? I have never never known such lying and greed and self-grandizing, may all of you go down in the history books as bad examples of what humanity.

If Rove, Bush, Cheney or Rumsfeld writes a book in the next few years, they should have to donate all proceeds to families of those killed and wounded in Iraq.

Bush wasn't recognized as legitimate by many because he in fact was not legitimate.

He lost the 2000 election. He lost the popular vote, and he would have lost the electoral vote as well if he had not sued to stop an accurate recount of the vote. Then he waltzed into office and, instead of trying to show a bit of humility, and to reach common ground, he acted as if he had won a landslide and pushed all of his crackpot rightwing policies - whose disastrous effect is evident. (Contrast how Obama, who actually did win a landslide - at least in the electoral college - is going out of his way to be conciliatory and appoint mainstream and even Republican cabinet members.)
