Rove vows to 'name names'

Rove says he will name his enemies in a new book.
Rove says he will name his enemies in a new book.

(CNN) – Enemies of President Bush take heed: Karl Rove is set to name names.

The man widely credited with Bush's two presidential victories says his new book will include an accounting of those in Washington who never accepted the president as a legitimate commander-in-chief.

"I've got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States," Rove told Cox News in an interview published Sunday. "I'm going to name names and show examples."

Rove signed a deal with publishing giant Simon & Schuster last year, reported be worth over $1.5 million.

In the wide-ranging interview, Rove also suggested the criticisms the president and his aides took were partly because they were not part of the Washington establishment.

"You'll notice there was outrage when it was thought that I was the person behind outing Valerie Plame. And then when it came out that it was the sainted [Deputy Secretary of State] Richard Armitage, there was no interest," Rove said. "I don't remember seeing anybody camped out on his doorstep like they were camped out on mine. [It's]because he was part of the acceptable culture of Washington, and I was not. I was one of those Texans who came up. He was one of those perpetual I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you'll-scratch-mine Washington leakers. "

Oh PLEAZE!! Saint Rove making judgement on behalf of his Master?Who cares! Bush himself is to blame for many of our present-day woes, nobody else. What is this, a publicity stunt to sell books? C'mon on!

Say what you will about 2000.

But Bush was elected in 2004 fair and square. This is after 9/11, the Iraq war, the WMD scandal, and all the other so-called 'mistakes'. So, obviously a majority of voters supported him. Why is that? Because the economy was doing well then.

So, it goes to show that for all your whining about "illegitimate President", "illegal war", "blah", "blah", "blah", people mostly care about their OWN pocketbooks.

So, take notice all you Obama lovers if the economy is back in the tank 4 years from now...

I usually comment on The Economist's message boards. First time on CNN and the lack of intelligence displayed in these comments sections is remarkable. I am no fan of George Bush, but no one here has anything insightful to offer. Almost everyone of these comments is full of petty cheap shots. Once again, I am no Bush fan, but most modern historians will attest to the fact that Rove is the most brilliant political strategist in modern history.

Frankly, I think Americans of both parties are sick of hearing from this treasonous weasel. I boycott any advertisers on publications who give him publicity. CNN, are you listening?

Big whoo, wow! that will be a very heavy book because more than 2/3 of Americans will have their names in Mc Rove's book. It might take him years to finish........not holding for breath for when it comes out.

Rove sucks! He's just blowing smoke anyway. He's trying to re-write a little history before he's held accountable after January 20th. The more he keeps opening his mouth, the closer to the top of the list he gets – the list of those who will be held accountable and made to pay the price for selling their soul to the devil.

So he's going to name the names of the people who didn't accept george bush as a legitimate commander-in-chief. That's going to be a HUGE book, considering that would include just about everyone in Washington. Can Karl posssibly be a bigger gas bag?

I know nothing about the publishing house, but if it is a stock company, its board should be looking into why it is wasting its money on this book

i can hardly wait until the next few years when history will show that bush was the most effective president we could have had for the economy and after 9-ll. if he had been a democrat he would have been granted sainthood by the media for keeping us safe and preventing a stock market crash in the wake of natural disaster. instead, being a republican he is responsible for the plague of the dark ages! the media is responsible for his low ratings and now they are showing every day how dishonest they are and hopefully they willl all lose their worthless newspapers!!! good ridance to all of that bad rubbish!

You people laughing about this won't be when those same insiders turn on your sainted Obama. BTW How is his friend, Tony Rezko?

It's funny to watch you claim Rove is a criminal when YOU HAVE NO PROOF OR OFFER ANY.

Bush received 51% of the vote in 04. Obama received 53% this year. pretty small difference.

Bushed– Your death threat is SO last year.

Those doing the name calling need to grow up and move out of your parent's basement.

Sorry, but I won't be able to afford his book because I am suffering the effects of 8 years of George W. Bush! This man's attempt at selling more books is as lame as it gets, and I will not fall for it!

Are you kidding me? Have your heard the crap that Rove has spewed out of his fat mouth? Like Republicans are so noble and NEEVVVEERR say anything negative in anyway. Please give me a break guy, seriously. Your just another butt hurt republican who has no logical response to what anyone is saying about Rove so you just start bashing democrats ("liberals") and CNN. Typical, very typical...

Just a thought. But before Mr. Rove vows to name names, shouldn't he be required to vow,(swear), to tell the truth.

In 2 years or less.... We will have experienced the un-experienced running the country in President Barrak "Delona-Hussein" "Obama-Clinton". His ideas are from the past, using a staff of old Clinton administration folks. All Washington establishment all....... By the way. 9/11 happened after 9 months of President Bush's presidency (and 8 years of Clinton being in control with no idea what was beyond "I did not have sex with that woman..... BUT after 7.3/4 years of President Bush there has be NO attacked on US soil. Thank you !!! President Bush...

I doubt anyone will buy the book anyway, even if he buts the name of his biological dad-Satan-in his tell all. Rove just doesn't get it does he. Even former Repubs like myself are glad to see this failed ship sink to the bottom of the sea after what they have done to America and the world. I would like to see them all tried for war crimes and rot in jail. Get that done and I will read that book.

It would be an honor to be included in this book of american hero's who stood among the majority that opposed the worse president ever! I do hope we recognize every single one of them as worthy of being those who stood for freedom, liberty, justice, the constitution and american values as they have stood stead fastly against this man who has single handidly destroyed the USA! We will be the one's to rebuild her to her former glory, we will rise from the ashes and undo the horrid state of affairs that Bush and Company have put us in.

    Please include me!

Right, Rove. You were despised because you were an "outsider" – not because of your vile, underhanded, and unscrupulous tactics forever immortalized in the term "Rovian". Here's wishing you many happy days clearing brush in Crawford.

I wouldn't believe one thing this guy says, whether he puts it in a book or not. Now he's going to try to make us believe he and the Bush regime were mavericks and the reason we're in the shape we're in is because they were such outsiders that they couldn't get anyone to go along with their wishes. This, after all the lies he's repeatedly said. Go figure, his party still believes if you say it often enough, the public will believe it.
