Rove vows to 'name names'

Rove says he will name his enemies in a new book.
Rove says he will name his enemies in a new book.

(CNN) – Enemies of President Bush take heed: Karl Rove is set to name names.

The man widely credited with Bush's two presidential victories says his new book will include an accounting of those in Washington who never accepted the president as a legitimate commander-in-chief.

"I've got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States," Rove told Cox News in an interview published Sunday. "I'm going to name names and show examples."

Rove signed a deal with publishing giant Simon & Schuster last year, reported be worth over $1.5 million.

In the wide-ranging interview, Rove also suggested the criticisms the president and his aides took were partly because they were not part of the Washington establishment.

"You'll notice there was outrage when it was thought that I was the person behind outing Valerie Plame. And then when it came out that it was the sainted [Deputy Secretary of State] Richard Armitage, there was no interest," Rove said. "I don't remember seeing anybody camped out on his doorstep like they were camped out on mine. [It's]because he was part of the acceptable culture of Washington, and I was not. I was one of those Texans who came up. He was one of those perpetual I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you'll-scratch-mine Washington leakers. "

hmm i wonder why bush and his cronies weren't welcomed with open arms when he was inaugurated? Maybe it was because he stole the election and should not have even been there in the first place. I'm so glad that Karl Rove is no longer relevant

    Hey Carl,
Little surprise that Bush isn't viewed as a legitimate commander and chief. After prosecuting an illegal war, botching Katrina, and stealing American liberties under the so-called Patriot Act, he should be lucky not to stand trial like his buddy Sadaam!

Hard to believe Simon & Schuster paid $1.5 million for this. May they lose their shirts.

    Who cares!

But please add my name along with 90 % of the world's citizens.

You can now add about 70 % of US citizens to that list.

And if anyone buys your book just to see them being named by you as someone who never accepted Bush as Commander in Chief has to be nuts.

Will you be also writing about the war crimes tribunal that will hopefully one day happen to try Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and yourself as war criminals?

Thank God and U-Haul the whole bunch of idiots will soon be gone. Were we fed a line of nonsense during these past eight years or what? It all came down to protect GWB and the heck with the United States. I know I speak for so many when I say January 20th can't come soon enough. As for naming names, these people should be hailed as heroes in this administration, not scapegoats. Dick Cheney needs a new hunting partner, are you up to it, Karl?

Rove will be forever remembered as the primary architect of Bush's horribly failed neocon experiment.

So now he's trying to blame 'the establishment'. Too funny, as he and Bush have been the establishment for the past 8 sad years.

Hmmm... the press has treated you unfairly? You, who have us in two wars and the worst economy since the great depression? You are getting off so easy – you should be in jail!

I guess all criminals really do get a book deal. K. R., O. J., and the list goes on.

"I've got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States,"

But judging how bad Bush's ideas have been, wouldn't this just make those who disagreed with him look good?

So what Rove is saying is that He's going to out the people who didn't back the most unpopular president in history, thus overall elevating their status and making them hindsight intellects?

Karl Rove is awesome...and come Janruary I will be taking a page out of the bleeding heart liberal playbook, by blaming all my personal and professional short comings on President Obama. Just like they did convienantly did during the Bush years. This is awesome having a scape goat to blame EVERYTHING on!!! Karl Rove is a genius and Bush destroyed Kerry in 2004 so that pretty much proves it. Obama is nothing more that a good speech giver

What a joke. Instead of Karl his name should be Kaylee. Rove should put a skirt on and paint a yellow stripe down his back. He is a behind the scenes guy who arranges for everyone to do unethical dirty work and now he is whining because of the incompetent performance of the past 8-years? Kaylee, open your eyes. The world was a far better place in 1999 than it is is in 2008 and you played a big part of it. Hatred, gossip, and 3rd party attack dogs are pathetic. That is all you all knew how to do and look where it got our country domestically and abroad. Congratulations, keep on blaming everyone else....

Go ahead and name names. No one is scared of you these days. Crawl back into the deep, dark hole from which you came.

eight years of these murderers and fascists spitting on the rule of law, six of which under a republican congress that did nothing but serve the interests of the wealthy and big corporations and religious fanatics, and they are still trying to act like theyre the party of washington outsiders. they should all be put in jail for the rest of their lives, karl rove included.

I agree there is media bias, evident in glomming onto everything this Midland Machiavelli has to say, EVEN NOW.

STOP covering him. Just stop. It's not "objectivity," it's simply chasing eyeballs.

Yeah, Karl. Put me in your book, too! I'm the one who outed you as the Nazi whose face melts off at the end of "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark." That's YOU, dude!

Come on, Karl. I wanna be one of your enemies. Please. Please. Please. Name me!

Oh, please. Poor Karl Rove? When the vultures attack one of their own, very few will offer any sympathy.

If G W Bush received from some quarters little respect as president it is perhaps less their failing than the acuity of their perceptions. Bush, from the outset, was small-minded, ignorant, and easy prey for the hard-line ideologues in his administration. His only gift for the presidency was his absolute but unfounded belief that he could do the job.

Delusion, thy name is W. (Rove, on the other hand, is simply a very cynical, amoral man.)

    Karl,

You are a washed-up has-been apologist for what history will show to be THE WORST presidential administration in the history of the United States. Crawl back under your rock.

I think Rove is gonna need more paper, at least if he wants to be accurate and include the names of nearly the entire population of the United States of America who all collectively hated that blow-up doll of a President...

Who, in their right mind, actually believes that Armitage outed Plame!? Seriously, did Armitage sit and watch Libby's trial and say nothing, then suddenly had an epiphany and stepped forward? Good grief! What kind of fools do they think we are? They didn't camp out on his doorstep because there's no way anyone believed it for one minute!

Rove, I have a tip for you. The reason Bush wasn't accepted is revealed in the incompetence of the last 8 years. He ran every business he worked at into the ground. Daddy's friends always bought him out of trouble. Well, he did it with the entire country and his friends can't bail him out this time. WE have to pay the price. Thanks a lot, Rove. Keep your book. Thanks, but no thanks.
