Why is it called a honeymoon? His high approval ratings are due to his sound judgement and good decisions.

"For Peggy and all those folks that say all Democrats (and Liberals) are sheep to the slaughter, we are not sheep, Rush Limbaugh's listeners are. We just tend to be more open minded and willing to listen to everyone's idea's," May I add, and then dismiss them as the words of "haters", "neo-cons" and "idiots". As you did in your statement about Rush Limbaugh's listeners.

Barack Obama is so organized. He is intellectual and seeks information from every direction. He is confident in himself and in his decision making.

Even after the election, I am included in his out reach. I receive about 2 emails per week informing me of the progress of the transition team, listing the issues are that are being discussed and showing me how decisons will be made. Then he invites me to comment, make suggestions, and stay involved. My emails are always answered.

Talk about change. We have never had a President who was so organised. He actively seeks ideas and participation in forming policies and making decisions; from the- "everyday Joe"- even after the election. I am so proud of him and our democracy. I am excited to be encluded and to be valued in his Presidency; just as I was in his campaign.

This Country made the right choice on November 4th. Obama is a very capable, honest, hard-working individual who will do a fine job as President for all of us. Did anyone see him on Meet The Press Sunday morning with Tom Brokaw? He was perfect. We are so lucky to have him as our President. It's about time people of quality and integrity run for the office. The future of our Country is at stake and we need someone with his qualifications. God Bless President-Elect Barack Obama. He will lead this Country back to its status as the best Country in the World and we can once again lead by example and can be proud of being Americans.

The President-elect is engaged and organized, performing as a leader rather than a pusher. While I did not vote for him, I am extremely hopeful that he performs his responsibilities in a consistent, thoughtful, and all-American manner without letting a socialist-agenda driven Nancy Pelosi push him off track. He will be our President, and we should support all of his efforts that benefit all of the American people.

I was disappointed in his involvement in the window plant closing incident in Chicago. As a leader he should provide direction at the national and international level, not selecting individual business situations to become a "friend" of the people.

I found it hypocritical that he would expect the failing business to honor contracts with the employees, yet expect other failing businesses to not honor contracts with management. Are not management employees also?

Odds are a number of you will disagree with me with the cry of "greedy management" and "overly generous bonuses", yet the principle is the same.

We all need a President who will consistently lead in a proactive manner, rather than setting policy in a reactive manner. We all need a President who will inspire each of us to do the right thing, while each of us is also being held accountable for our own actions.

People expect Obama not to do what Reagan-Bush-Bush did to USA and to the world. Reagan promoted Islamic terror with the help of Pakistan which is now a well known supporter of all Islamic terrorists. Pakistan use all the American Tax payers dollars to promote terrorism.

American Policy will get a "U " turn during the rule of Obama. Not only Americans, but all the people in other countries too expect a CHANGE in American foreign policy!

Obama has a way with words alright. Just listing to some of what he was saying on Meet The Press leaves one analyzing what he is saying and coming to conclusion that his abstract conceptualizations amount to nothing more than, "duh!".

The honeymoon is never gonna end. We now have a president that the media likes, the media helped get elected, and that the media can never criticize unless it wants Al Sharpton, his bullhorn, and the usual suspects of community organizers outside the executive offices.

Nah, its not way too early to come to a conclusion. It's been eight years, and that is more then enough time to conclude that Bush has been a 'natural disaster'!

On that note, yes, that is much why Obama is getting such incredible ratings. It's hard for this country NOT to be jubilent that the worse thing to ever happen to america is about to leave the white house!

And it will even if he wrecks the country. Some people will never admit mistakes. I can. I voted Bush in 2000 (big mistake I did not repeat in 2004). The two party system is a scam. Try one party, two names. The elite military-industrial-banking complex controls the political arena.

Frank a true American: You are a dumb person. The economic crisis is because of Bush's spend, spend, spend BS with Wars, and other special interest projects that sent us down the tubes. I'll take Obama any day of the millenium...

All bets are off, however, if he ever says: "I'm the decider".

I love how all of the comments on articles about who Obama is choosing for his cabinet from right wing sore losers saying "obama-bots must be feeling stupid now!"

No, we aren't. In fact, I don't think there is any way Obama could be doing a better job!

Wynter- Just because the election hadn't been called in 2000 doesn't mean Bush couldn't have been vetting and trying to organize a cabinet given the chance that he was elected.

And this economic downturn started long before a democratic majority in congress.

And this economic downturn started long before a democratic majority in congress.

I think we are seeing "The Tiger Woods Effect", you may not have voted for him, you may even be prejudiced against him for his color. But he is to loitics what Woods has been to golf. He doesn't look like those who came before him but he is just soooo good at what he does that the golf world does not see his color anymore. He is just "the greatest player" period. I think Obama will come to be thought of not as "A black President" but as a "Great President". (hopefully more than just by comparison to Bush) Time will tell.

Ditto to all the positive comments.................

My one concern is that expectations for him may be way too high, not that I doubt he can live up to them, but I do believe in leaving some room for the adversities that will be faced later.

Frank a true american get your facts straight.
That idea of bringing liberty by force failed miserably, to the point that the genocide wackos that gave the Islam such a bad name not only were hunted down and imprisoned, but gained a ton of 'motives' to do what they do. All they have to do is pick some facts, twist them as they like it done and present them to their sheeps.
Let's remember the basic, 'jihad' is not 'holly war' (more like self enlightbnement and desire/need to spread the Islam) but those wackos had managed to twist the concept so much that that's what many people (including Muslims) believes that that's what the word stands for... and due to all the failed policies of Bush&Co. these 'beings' (I'll get censored if I call them what they truly are) have more penetration in the Middle East than ever.
The Iranians that hate the Ocident (roughly 30 to 40% of the population), the Lebanese that want to force a theocracy (on their terms) to their countryfellows, Al Qaeda and many others have always been the main problem simply because those guys HATE democracy, freedom of religion and many other rights that the USA always stood for.
And now they are more powerful than ever, thanks to the Bush doctrine of 'Freedom by Force'...

He's not even in office and I feel like he's our President now. Seems to me he really does care about the American people.

I see him more than the current administration(not complaining), talking about the economy and where he stands with those poor plant workers who deserve what is owed to them... Has Bush comment on that, of course not, he's too busy picking out drapes for his new house.

So what if Obama administration consist of Clinton people. As long as the job gets done and as I recall our economy was great during the Clinton administration.

Trust me. Having Barack Obama as your leader makes you (The United States) the envy of the world. No matter how bad things are, there's a good chance it could be a heck of a lot worse with anybody else at the helm.

So far he's done a great job giving everybody a stake and a seat at his table. Even my republican relatives love the guy. They've lost half their retirement under bush.

I would trade our prime minister in Canada for Barack Obama in a heartbeat.

This guy is already different from George W. Bush! Bush never appeared to be a "take the bull by the horns" type of guy as his handlers deftly kept him away from this image. Obama, given Bush's immense problems , a kindly left behind reminder of his very poor leadership, must stear a pernicious course as even the President in the wings! That is why Obama rates as high as he does!

To Peggy - What's with the "when Obama shows his true colors"? What exactly does that mean? It's just more ignorant rantings from the right who continue to think Obama is a Muslim and was not born in the U.S. Please. Move on from that! Obama is showing his true colors NOW by doing everything he can to choose the right people for his cabinet. Give the guy a break! You might try actually reading up on the issues and policies of Bush and Obama. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two.

This article makes no sense. What is the approval rating based on? He hasn't made any decisions other than some of his cabinet members. If that's what people are basing their approval rating on, why didn't they just say 80% of people agree with his cabinet appointees?

The President-Elect has kept quiet on every major issue that has arisen since his election, constantly stating that we "only have one President at a time"...to the point that Democrats have openly criticized his silence. Even though I'm more than ready for President Bush to leave, I agree with Obama's point of view on this but it does not mean I'd give a positive or negative approval rating for doing nothing.

I have nothing but high hopes for Obama. So far he has proven to be calm, cool and collected, sincere in his efforts and a hard worker.

The people on these boards who continue to defend Bush and his administration are beyond hope. They truly don't have any idea how INeffective he has been as our leader. It's sad but they continue to spew hateful and ignorant comments. Thank God more people realized how stupid Bush has been and elected a smart, educated, sincere person as our next president. He has one hell of a job ahead of him thanks to the mess Bush and his cronies have made and I just hope the right wingers give him a chance before they bash him to death. This mess isn't going to be fixed overnight. There's just too much to do.

gosh such a fluffy and worthless poll. Who are these "people" you are talking too? My business is down over 50%, My banks have cut my credit lines to almost nothing (despite great credit) and raised my APRs to double (or more) then they were charging a few months ago. My 30% equity in my home is gone, and I now owe more then its worth.

I will soon be asking people for CHANGE on the streets.

Everyone gripes about all the Bush staff....how about the lame "former-Clinton" staffers.....seems like our new President believes Change is bringing back the same losers that were pushing the buttons for the Dems.

I hope Obama gets something done......but so far nothing but hot air....not that hot air is not business as normal in DC.

I find it kind of ironic that some of you are saying that he's not even in office yet are probably the same ones that complain about what he's doing before he takes office and don't want him to do well while he's IN office. Some bitter folks need something to moan about I guess.

So far so good. I agree with the poll results, he's done a good job with the transition.

The whole world now prays that Obama will have what it takes to excel in his presidency...for it will take nothing short of excellence to get the world out of this mes..

Pecan State Pundit. The next thing a liberal 'fixes' will be the first thing a liberal fixes. Your characterization of conservatives as all being out for a buck at the expense of the country is disgusting. Try looking at the Democratic Party, say Charlie Rangel who writes tax laws, but 'forgets' to pay taxes; or the Gov. of IL who was just arrested for trying to sell Obama's Senate seat. Your holier than thou attitude is sickening.

Let me say this....I did not vote for Obama, but this is my country and I want the BEST for everyone here. Call it selfish, but I pray for him to do a good job. I hope he is the best president ever! We need to bury the hatchet and be the best we can for our country.

I wish the hostile Obama followers and Bush haters would do the same.

What has he done so far except for talk? Wait that is all he has done his whole career. Wait until he has to actually do something, than we will see.
