WASHINGTON (CNN) – Jeb Bush for Senate? His famous older brother thinks so.
In an interview with CNN’s Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowley, President Bush responded “yes” when asked whether his brother Jeb should run for the senate seat being vacated in 2010 by Republican Mel Martinez.
The president said he did not know if his brother, a popular former Florida governor, would ultimately run and had not discussed the prospect with the elder President Bush.
“I haven’t talked to my dad about whether or not he wants Jeb to run. First of all knowing my dad I bet he would say I want Jeb to do that which is best for him and then he would go on to say but if he chose to run he would be a great United States senator and he would be.”
President Bush also said he was “neutral” in next year’s Texas governor’s race which Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison will likely mount a tough Republican primary challenge against Governor Rick Perry.

Well if he hired a good plastic surgeon and changed his name...he might have a chance. But Georgie, you ruined it for all the Bush's to come.
Yeah, why not see if you can steal ANOTHER election.
NO, NO, NO, NO. NO. What part of NO do you not understand Jeb? I am from Florida and you will NOT get my vote. Take a rest Bushes.
@Donovan, read a book for a change. EVERY independent news organization that recounted Florida found that Gore lost Florida and Bush won Florida in 2000. Substantially.
Democrats keep telling Republicans to move on from the election of six weeks ago. Democrats need to move on from the election of eight years ago! Eight years of repeating the same lie does not turn it into the truth. And the truth shall set you free.
He just put the "kiss of death" on his brothers political aspirations.
Sarah Palin's job approval is 80%, Jeb Bush 60%, and Rod Blago 8%.
Gov. of 8% doesn't want to resign or step down. Why not Gov. of 60%
run for Senate in 2010 ??
GO for JEB 2010
I live in Florida and I would never vote for him.
There are a lot of us that feel the same way after George and George this country does not need another Bush PERIOD.
HE'S GOING TO LOSE.
Plain and simple – Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Yep, of course GW would want his bro to run for senate – go figure, a couple of weeks ago after Barak Obama was elected, Jeb (another moron) Bush called for a Shadow Government. This guy thinks he is in England where Shadow Governments are commonplace.
In the U. S., a shadow government means the Repubs work in the background to undermine anything the incoming Pres. does.
Yep – vote for Jeb Bush. He is worse than his brother.
Jeb Bush is one Bush too many......
He may not appear to be as dumb as Geo. W., but they both share the same values, and parents. Not to mention the fact that, they are both heads of dysfunctional families . Though, Jenna has gotten married, and seems to have sown her wild oats,
Jeb`s daughter the Cocaine addict ,..... well I just don`t know......
Also his son should have been one of the first to inlist into the armed forces after 911...... But being a Bush , unlike his grandfather Geo. H. W. Bush , who served his country in WW2 , I guess he had other things to do ......
NO MORE BUSH`S ........
If Jeb bush runs, everyone will need to keep their old shoes. (LOL)
God help us all if another Bush is put into office again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too much "Bush" will make you sick!
Lets vote for Jeb Bush for Senate of a different country not USA. Sorry House Full. Try Venezuela... if they have a Senate system. Or be some pencil pusher somewhere else...

" Sounds like the rest of you are depending your vote on a name rather than on the person and what they stand for/capable of. Go get educated."
Hmm !!! Isn't that what all the Repugs were doing about Obama's name ?
Hey CNN : what do you do, pick on certain people and and ban their comments ? Just about all of my posts are banned these days. None of them are as bad as some I read on here.
Yes, I just bet he does want Jebbie boy to run for office, any political office so George can get his boy Karl Rove back to work. Hopefully the voters will remember, when the time comes (and it will come around) what a rotton, horriable, lieing, cheating, hardheaded, unforgiving, unrelenting, no good, murdering no good his brother (W) is/was during his tenure as our leader. Hopefully they will remember how much in debt both W and his daddy HW left this country. The Bushes don't get better, they get worse.
I think Jeb will take a few years to choose to run though, because he has to clean up the stink his family left in Florida. The gov. of Floridas son, daughter and wife being in trouble with the law for drugs, alcohol and stealing can't be good for the public to remember if one is wanting to run for a Senate or Representives office. AND hopefully we all will remember when the dirty tricks start again to get him elected, that we have gotten past the dirty tricks but we shouldn't forget about them and what happens IF we listen to them again.... ANOTHER BUSH GETS ELECTED......
He helped steal the election for his brother...
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.......No more Bush Clan in the W/House, Senate, Congress or anywhere in National Politics!!!
I think we have had 'ENOUGH' of the Bush Clan!!!
Please Jeb, don't listen to him! What America DOESN'T need is another Bush in any office of the federal government!!!!! All of the Bushes should be hanging their heads in shame.
NOOOOO! No More Bushes in office! Bush Senior left behind a $300 Billion Debt! Bush Jr. is leaving us with a false war, a $10 Trillion debt, the 21st century Depression, global economic crisis, our national honor in the toilet and millions without jobs or insurance. Jeb should be the 'smart' Bush and stay out of politics... for the betterment of mankind!
fool me once, fool me twice but not three times, please!!!!!!!
These guys are making another joke that's not funny on all of us right? Another scare tactic? They've got to be kidding about how most of the entire world hates them. The so-called "real Americans" would vote for him just like they supposedly did for his brother...twice..and those same "real Americans" call us stupid.
NO! We're sick of the Bushes, and the Kennedy's. Go find another career.
Jeb Bush may be a smarter guy than his brother, but I do believe he "cooked" the vote in 2000 along with Katherine Harris, the Secretary of State at the time, to give the electoral votes to his brother. How would it have looked if Florida went for Gore, while Jeb was their Governor!! So by 547 votes (or something ilke that), "W" wins the presidency. What a sad and sorry event that has turned out to be!!!
