(CNN) – Who knew being White House press secretary was such a dangerous job?
While President Bush emerged from the weekend's now-infamous shoe attack in Iraq without a scratch, press secretary Dana Perino appears to be a little worse for wear.
Perino was sitting to the side of the president when an Iraqi journalist threw his shoes at him Sunday. She was inadvertently hit by a microphone as the president's Secret Service agents responded and officials scrambled to wrestle the journalist to the ground.

The full effects of the accident were clear at Tuesday's White House daily briefing, where Perino sported a bruise below her right eye and scratch just above the eyebrow.
"The shoe check-in and check-out policy will begin tomorrow," Perino joked.

Hope no major damage is done. Bush will cause and has cause hurt to all of us. Think about the troops and their family.
I am sorry that she was injuried. Is it me or was the Secret Service a little slow in their reaction?

It wasn't inadvertent,she got hit with the microphone just before she was about to spout the usual nonsense in defense of Shrubs policies.
No words need be said – it's all there in black and blue.
When you are on the side of the evil doers, bad things happen.
And here I was thinking Garry Trudeau's depiction of W in 'Doonesbury' was just silly sarcasm; by the time Bush leaves office, he may /actually/ look beat up. But I'm sure he'll sleep well...there's no room for self-doubt in his world-view.

But just wonder why Bush could still make a joke out of it – not humiliating enough?!
Now I know this was all a set up....I bet Sarah Palin's makeup artist could cover that black eye if they wanted to not make political hay out of it!
Well, it's too bad that happened to her, but in the last 8 years, there has not been anyone worhy of the press secretary's job, except for the one that just released a book, not to mention he supported Obama.

That day had to suck for her, man. First some guy throws his shoes at the leader of the free world, and then she got a black eye. Lots of stuff to cover in her briefing that day.
She deserves worse. Ayone that can tout the policies of G.W. Bush should have a little sense knocked into them.
Democrats are loving this – violent demonstrations are right up their alley – just ask Bill Ayers!
