Obama team to release Blagojevich report by Tuesday

A report on Emanuel’s contact with Blagojevich will be released by Tuesday, say aides.
A report on Emanuel’s contact with Blagojevich will be released by Tuesday, say aides.

(CNN) – The Obama transition team is planning to release a report by tomorrow detailing contact between his staff and embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, transition aides tell CNN.

The president-elect himself is not expected to comment publicly on the results of the internal investigation, which reportedly detail one conversation between President-elect Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Blagojevich, and several others between Emanuel and the governor’s top aide.

The Illinois governor was arrested earlier this month on charges of attempting to sell Obama’s Senate seat.

Blagojevich complained during one conversation recorded by the FBI that Obama and his aides were unwilling to compensate him for naming a candidate of their choosing to the seat.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in Chicago has said that Obama was not a target of the investigation. Sources have also told CNN that Emanuel has not been implicated in the case.

the real kicker here is that obama is supposedly a very well educated man yet he couldn't see this coming down the pipe....................IN HIS OWN STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    oh i'm sorry. i guess i "misspoke".

IF OBAMA KNEW ABOUT A REQUEST FOR COMPENSATION FOR HIS PICK OF A REPLACEMENT AND DIDN'T REPORT IT, HE IS GUILTY OF CONSPIRACY AND THAT'S A FELONY.

"The TRUE POTUS, Hillary Clinton, would never be suspected of ANY corruption. Considering how OBAMA and the supporters LAUNCHED a corrupted CAMPAIGN that STOLE the PRIMARY campaign and then launched another CAMPAIGN to denounce another WOMAN who is more QUALIFIED than the USURPER OBAMA."

LOL!!! Ohh yeah, considering the Saudis hook them up with millions of dollars for their agenda or should I say, conspiracy? LOL!!! Yeah, that makes sense alright...

I just think this is funny and like I said, there's no stock and quite frankly, it probably is our fault over here because we don't stand up for ourselves but we don't care, LOL!! I just think the irony is funny considering all these people here in this page, are arguably the same people who've been on this website for who knows and stay here for who knows. I'm not gonna go far and say they done something because quite frankly, I don't know what is up until what's going on. Or wait a minute, let me guess, Rahm and the Gov's aides were talking about how they were gonna split the vacant seat between the two but then the Gov didn't get what he wants and called him whatever he called him. First of all, that sentence didn't even make sense and secodnly, Dick Cheney is right, only some people deserve the F-word...

This is more funny that quite expected, LOL!!

Blago case came up sometime ago. Barack wanted to cook up some lies so he took time and asked people to wait for a week or more for his investigation report. If Barack was straight-forward, he could have come up to hte press and disclosed everything on the very first day.

First thing, I need to correct that repetitive poster(s) speading the lie (yes lie) that the PE said, at any time, that his team had no contact with Blogo. LIE! He said that he (that is the PE) had no direct contact with Blogo on this matter and was not aware of the situation (pay for play or crinimal wronddoing). This is basic English so I am going to go slow for you. He (the PE) only said that he (speaking for himself) had no contact with Blogo about the senate seat and he (speaking for himself) was not aware of wrongdoing.

Even the Chicago papers have not found leakers to indicate that the PE had any direct contact with Blogo. Of course, there has been wild speculations of 21 calls (which will proven untrue rumor mongering). But nobody has suggested that the PE or his staff did anything unethical, immoral, or illegal. And if you believe the tapes, Blogo and his band of merry men (and wife), realized there was nothing to be gained from the PE.

But do not let the truth keep you from throwing out unsubstantiated charges and destroying the reputations of good men and women just because they are in the other party.

Would be foolish for Obamas camp not to have discussed who would follow him in the senate.
Does not mean that they were aware of Blag's scheme, nor does it mean they had anything to do with it.
Keeping quiet while they do an internal investigation was smart, efficiant, and responsible. Throwing tidbit chum to the sharks in the biased press (both conservative and liberal) would be as foolish as we all know it would.

Only blind followers and morons still believe Obama and Edmund knew nothing about the deals for his empty Senate seat. This will be another huge test of the progressive media's ability to deliver unfiltered truth.

you're all falling into the spider's web...this Blago story is just a diversion from something else far more sinister that is going on in Chicago...why they are making Blago fall on his sword is anyone's guess, but i do see a pattern that has been laid out before us, and all i can do is wait and see what they are scheming and plotting to come into fruition....it's not going be a surprise to me.

"People, remember Obama initially said that no one in his office had any contact with Blagojevich–his words!!! So either
    A. He lied
    B. He doesn't know what's going on in his own staff.

Neither option bodes well for Obama."

No, that's not what Obama said. He said that HE never had direct talks with Blagojevich about the seat. Big difference there...

Let's not split hairs here...What Obama probably meant was that no one from his staff had any influential or consequential conversation with the Governor...so far the investigators have said the same thing pretty much...
That's why before it got too convoluted, Obama took a timeout, wisely I might add, to put out a more coherent statement.

    jjd,
Obama said that no one in his staff had any *inappropriate* contact.

It is shocking that the former IL senator's staff spoke to the IL governor about replacing his post. Shocking, I tell you

  17. Empty suit, empty promises

That's right JB1969, throw the "card" down anytime anyone dares question the chosen one, but I don't blame you or Obambi at all as it IS HOW YOU GOT HIM ELECTED.

The media has been and mainly still is in love with this empty suit whose FIRST inclination was to say THAT HE NOR ANY OF HIS STAFF HAD ANY contact with the good Governor, and when Axelrod was on tape (the only way too pin these people down) saying THEY HAVE, he got thrown under the bus and has gone into hiding.

OF COURSE there were discussions and there SHOULD BE, but Obambi LIED about ANY contact, PERIOD.

This has NOTHING to do with Fox news or white people or Conservatives or Hillary supporters, this has to do WITH FACTS and this BS mantra of change, it is a fallacy and you 52 percent of the sheep were fooled.

    Baaaa.

Sometimes I watch shows like "Hannity's America" and "Huckabee", just for kicks and giggles. Last night though I was watching "Huckabee" and he was talking to someone from the Chicago media. It was very comical to watch Huckabee try to dig out of her some relation between Obama and Blago but to no avail. I can't wait till we get out of this transitional period so that instead of everything being symbolism we'll see real action.

Just 2 questions I would like answered please:
    1. Was there a supposed list given to Blago from someone on the Obama team as was reported when all the hoopla was going on about Jesse Jackson Jr. getting the spot and someone said it was funny that his name wasn't even on the Obama list of acceptable candidates?
    2. Will this internal report by the Obama team be met with as much skepticism as was any report that Bush put out that was done by internals where they were investigating themselves?
    Thank you.

There has been no public information or movement on this topic other than the recent comments by Blagojevich that have been played over and over again this past weekend. The press is turning me off and I'm turning them off and changing the channel. This is not news and don't expect it to be once the report is released tomorrow. I'd like to know why aren't the press covering real stories like what Bush is doing with his executive orders. Does anyone other than the Obama transition team have a report or reporters looking at these executive orders to inform the public of the various things Bush is trying to do. Now that's news, why isn't a major organization like CNN doing a special.

Interesting contrast: Big media and the many cable-news opinion givers are speculating on whether Obama is involved in anything improper and are emphatic about holding him accountable. Meanwhile, the Senate Armed Services Committee (25 Senators: 13 dems, 12 repubs) last week reported, with unanimous support, that the Bush admin authorized the specific acts of abuse that took place at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay- violations of International Law for which 7 low-level soldiers are in jail. Yet this report is barely mentioned on cable and broadcast news.

why not just tell the truth Obama, I voted for you and you already are screwing up and covering up.....Just tell everyone from the beginning that you team has spoke with him but has nothing to do with the following...... more of the same i see......nothing is going to change except more corruption.....anything political that can survive in ill.....has already been corrupted....and made "deals" for yrs.....otherwise you do not survive in Chi town......WAKE UP people.....

If Blagojevich is on tape complaining about Obama's unwillingness to compensate him for the Senate seat then Obama obviously knew about the deals being negotiated for it. Not to mention Jesse Jackson Jr's closeness to Obama..

The sad fact is that they are all doing this especially the Congress. When Chris Dodd was interviewed and said that there were enormous pressure from the credit card companies to keep allowing them to jack up rates. Ask him as to how finance companies can pressure them? Don't they work for the people? The truth is they are getting so much political contributions from these companies so that if they don't vote their way, they wont have those contributions. They are selling their votes too!!!. There is so much hipocrisy!!!
