Obama team to release Blagojevich report by Tuesday

A report on Emanuel’s contact with Blagojevich will be released by Tuesday, say aides.
A report on Emanuel’s contact with Blagojevich will be released by Tuesday, say aides.

(CNN) – The Obama transition team is planning to release a report by tomorrow detailing contact between his staff and embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, transition aides tell CNN.

The president-elect himself is not expected to comment publicly on the results of the internal investigation, which reportedly detail one conversation between President-elect Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Blagojevich, and several others between Emanuel and the governor’s top aide.

The Illinois governor was arrested earlier this month on charges of attempting to sell Obama’s Senate seat.

Blagojevich complained during one conversation recorded by the FBI that Obama and his aides were unwilling to compensate him for naming a candidate of their choosing to the seat.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in Chicago has said that Obama was not a target of the investigation. Sources have also told CNN that Emanuel has not been implicated in the case.

I voted more Obama. I’m disappointed. We all should be. We were promised change, and we’re receiving more of the same. Secrecy, no communication, cover up. More of the same.

You FOOLS who listen to those LIARS on FOX and Talk RADIO shows, when will you UNDERSTAND that you are being had. You impeached Clinton for a personal flaw after hounding him for 8 years and he still presided over the BEST period anyway you want to measure it in recent history. You lived throught America's WORST 8 years and YOU are still DEFENDING the CRIMINALITY of the present administration by trying to tarnish Barak Obama before he is even sworn in. Call me a liberal and I will call you STUPID.
This entire story with Blago is being MANUFACTURED by the same people who want to REVISE HISTORY and present a sanized view of the this republican administration. They believe that if they can tarnish the BO administration they can look better. It will not work. There are now enough of US who do understand and can see through the lies of the past 8 years. The few of you will need more time, but please in the meantime, shut up until you have something original and intelligent to say.

If Mr. Obama wants change, the first thing he can do is let go of his own Karl Rove. Rahm is cut from the same cloth, and gives me the creeps every time I see him or hear from him. I did not vote for Obama, but I am ready to support him and give him room to develop his vision. My respectful suggestion to him is that he find someone cleaner than Rahm or Rove to manage his affairs for him.

But what about.....but what about..... always hear the same old thing when people get themselves into trouble....stand up and take your lumps and quit trying to divert peoples attention...it only makes you look more guilty.

By the way...who cares what Bush and Company did, (or what you think he did), dont you remember what your Mom always said....two wrongs don't make a right. Oh but wait....the Dems only broke the law "a little bit" and (according to the Bush haters) Bush broke the law "a lot" so lets just look at Bush and forget about what Obama has done....I see.....just one question....is that how you are raising your kids? I mean its ok if your kids break the law as long as you can find one of their friends or schoolmates that has done waaaay worse right? That makes it all better.

This is not even a battle worth finding. We need solutions to REAL problems. This issue is like a little girl's bad hair day at school. Is this issue going to threaten the world? If no. Who cares!!!

All those Obama haters, just take a look at what is happening to the U.S. OF A. All of what is going on, job lost, homes being lost, so many individuals out of work and home, and are being displaced, and yet, you can find time to log on line and be so negative, just because you lost the election.

Rational people will study the report...people still ranting about birth certificates, rezko and Ayers willrelying on their amazing "feelings' that everyone in Chicago is corrupt. The news media, having nothing else to sensationalize ,will continue to parse every word to boost ratings sprinkling this with the results of their stalkings of a man and his family on vacation.....

People kept calling other people crooks, but they are not crooks. They are decent men who had to follow bad practices. Let's change the process and then if they falter, we can call them crooks.

O M G -- I can not believe the comments I am reading. What is wrong with people today. We don't even know what kind of conversation took place and some are calling for Emmanuel to step down?????? Let's just wait and see how the facts play out shall we? Why is everyone so quick to hang someone out to dry? We are living in sad, sad times! I can't believe that you are all so quick to jump in and say someone should do this or should do that or this is wrong, that is wrong. I hope you are all holding yourself to the same standards and expections you hold everyone else. And, if, so I am surprised you are still functioning. Pretty High Expectations being set without any concrete information yet? All I can say is WOW!

What is the problem here? The governor is on tape complaining that Obama's team wouldn't give him anything besides a "Thank you" and yet the skeptics refuse to believe that Obama hasn't sold out. Simply pathetic. Let the man do his job instead of trying to stir up more hate mongering and unnecessary division. This mentality is not conducive to fixing all that needs fixing in our nation. If Obama and his team do wrong, then call them on it, but this is a non-starter.

Everyone in politics has to rub elbows with some sleazy characters. We voters elect a lot of sleazy characters to office. The Obama team will have to converse with, work with, and plan with both the good people that we send to office and with the sleazeballs that we send to office.

The moral purity that some of the bloggers here demand sounds a little shrill to me. All of us know, where we work, that we do a lot of things the customers must never find out about and a few things that the government must never find out about. What is said in the back rooms of our stores, corporations, and governmental agencies is seldom repeated on the sales floor or in the board room.

Blagojevich's behavior was inexcusable. Maybe there is not enough proof to convict him of a crime, but those conversations are sufficient for the voters and legislators of Illinois to remove him from office. Crooked dealing in public office is treason worse than selling battle plans to the enemy.

I would be disturbed if there weren't any contacts between the governor of Illinois, his former senator, and his former senator' aides. After all, a government is a network of individuals attempting to run the show that is our country. A lack of communication would have only implicated that Blagojevic was trying to fly under the radar. All of the people who are trying to demonize Obama are the same people who are trying to claim that he is not a US citizen or are still convinced that he as a Muslim. Rush Limbaugh should not be your primary source of news. If you actually used other sources you would realize how ignorant you all sound.

Bottom line, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, even Blagojevic. He may be some grandiose sociopath, but he is innocent until proven guilty. It is your country's due process, so get over it. Obama and his transition team could not control the actions of a historically corrupt, rogue individual. Again, if any of you actually knew anything about Blagojevic, you would know that Illini voters screwed up horribly when they reelected him. He was corrupt long before anyone even knew who Obama was, and he will be an arrogant, self-serving politician until he resigns, is removed, or his term ends.

    Blagojevic = republican lighter fluid

Lots of woulda, shoulda, coulda from the brain dead regurgitators of right wing hate and conspiracy folks today. How many times will you guys need to be told the truth before you can beleive it? Have the lies of your hero curious George numbed you to it? Why do you hold so steadfastly to your idiotic conspiricies? I have come to think that you all have no real ideas only those that the AM radio puts in your head. No ability to rationalize or even to use critical thinking (have you even heard of such things?). Such good sheep but poor excuses for humanbeings. So wallow in your discontent and self loathing leave the real work of fixing the mess that was created by your monkey leader to the grown ups and by all means get off of your mommys computer.

After 8 years of the most corrupt and inept administration in history, your failure to face reality is astounding.

I don't think Obama was involved. The problem is for a campaign that has promised transparency in government they have bungled this whole thing. And Obama refuses to answer any questions directly (he only takes four questions) at his press conferences.
What do you expect from a man who said in 2004 he would not run for national office in 2008? What do you expect from a man who said if he received the Democratic nomination for Prez he would accept public financing? What do you expect from a man who said he was running against the Clintonites and experience and now has Hillary and Rahm and all the other Clintonistas in his administration?
New boss same as the old boss. Shrumb and Obambi. Two peas in a pod.

It was made plain and clear by Blagojevich that Obama's team wanted him to show some appreciation by making Valerie Jarrett a senator.

To say that Obama covered something up is very misleading. Obama denied that a member of his team did not actively seek out Blagojevich for benefit from the seat. That is the real issue.

The TRUE POTUS, Hillary Clinton, would never be suspected of ANY corruption. Considering how OBAMA and the supporters LAUNCHED a corrupted CAMPAIGN that STOLE the PRIMARY campaign and then launched another CAMPAIGN to denounce another WOMAN who is more QUALIFIED than the USURPER OBAMA.
