I am not surprised. If appointed these people will be permanent until. 2014. Time and Time again I have said that the Clinton appointees already served 4 years 1st Term in which they became entrenched in their positions, built up their knowledge whether good or bad and employed their friends to enfranchise themselves in these positions. Then they had another 4 years to become rich, wealthy and an expert on nothing. O their friends looked after their interest and NO ONE ELSE of the black race could get a job in these positions. Now President elect OBAMA has now returned and reappointed these same people to return back to a position of power. These same people who no longer employ or care about young black African men getting the opportunity to learn or grow in good jobs. Now President Bush has turned around and enfranchised his friends without asking President Elect Obama and then they have the audacity to have a get together on January 6 or 7. Yes folks young black men are being screwed royally welcome to the real world

Irritated in Fl   December 24th, 2008 10:42 pm ET

There are still people who think this guy was good. He claims to have kept us safe, but wasn't he president on September 11, 2001? I am ashamed to be a baby boomer. How disgusting.

LWB   December 24th, 2008 9:48 pm ET

Quit your crying!! Every outgoing President does the same crap…even your beloved Bill "I didn't have sexual relations with that woman" Clinton. Get over it. Obama will do the same thing four years from now.

bill for barack   December 24th, 2008 9:34 pm ET

Has the EVER been a question about Bush's intention to destroy America ?
The man is worse than Bin Laden – the man he has spent the last 8 years protecting – beginning with the pullback of troops when we got too close to capturing him the first time. Iraq was a cover to protect Bin Laden and the Saudis – to whomBush is in debt up to his eyebrows. The man is a traitor to his country.

BB   December 24th, 2008 9:12 pm ET

What??? Kinda late in the game isn't it – 26 days to go.

donna   December 24th, 2008 9:04 pm ET

The President's packing of key offices with republican obstacles is just W's way of saying #$%k the Democrats. We can hardly wait until the investigations start. Then the Democrats will do a bit of packing of their own. .

Griff   December 24th, 2008 8:34 pm ET

There are not that many colours…..

Kevin, NC   December 24th, 2008 7:48 pm ET

C Spurgeon   December 24th, 2008 7:36 pm ET

This guy just needs to leave town wo doing anymore damage to this country…He should be listed as the worse in modern times. and I believe he will.

Fred   December 24th, 2008 7:17 pm ET

Right to the end he is trying to pay off the republicrats/evangelicrats who voted for him and help put this country in the mess it is in today. Not to worry, 2009 will be a great year for all America and the whole world.

landandair   December 24th, 2008 7:12 pm ET

This is news to me. Didn't realize the Mr. President was still taking care of folks and certainly in this manner.

Sue   December 24th, 2008 7:08 pm ET

What is he doing? Making appointments that Obama should be making?
The Bush legacy will haunt us for decades or longer, won't it? January 20 cannot come soon enough. Impeach this madman!

Scotch   December 24th, 2008 7:00 pm ET

And someone thinks this is different from "pay to play".

Ted Wu   December 24th, 2008 7:00 pm ET

Based on George W. Bush's record of the past eight years, which shows poor judgment and biased opinion usually detrimental to the public good, all his appointments should be annulled or at least subject to serious scrutiny for the sake of public welfare.

Andy B   December 24th, 2008 6:54 pm ET

Smooth move. This is exactly what America needs. More of the same incompetence led by the Bush epic debacle. Not the end of an ERROR. Hopefully Obama can chuck these shills.

Jon   December 24th, 2008 6:54 pm ET

Great. Karl Rove is with us evermore. This administration is like The Thing That Wouldn't Leave.

Ed, Santa Fe, NM   December 24th, 2008 6:46 pm ET

while the country goes down the toilet….. take care of your henchmen, Bush…..

Mike   December 24th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Awesome!!!

I receive SSI   December 24th, 2008 6:33 pm ET

This should be criminal. God I hope Obama can fire these idiots.

Keith T. Grey, Sr., SC   December 24th, 2008 6:30 pm ET

I would love to know how long these positions languished vacant before this last minute frenzy of "spoils" distribution…

rich   December 24th, 2008 6:30 pm ET

Can the incoming president reverse any of these appointments?

ran   December 24th, 2008 6:20 pm ET

This is one among many reason our political system is in such bad shape. No administration should be allowed to do this. I hope Obama will correct this kind of cronyism.

Objective thinking   December 24th, 2008 6:19 pm ET

Bush-bashing in 3… 2… 1…

Gisele from NY   December 24th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

What the heck is this? Go away Bush.

Martin   December 24th, 2008 6:01 pm ET

We are stuck with this idiot's butt kissing friends for six more years? These people should all be forced to resign on January 1st.

Texas Teacher   December 24th, 2008 5:58 pm ET

Oh, yes, I am sure that Bush plans to infiltrate as many of his team as he can so as to maintain as much control and influence as he can! I am truly appalled at the gall! Pardon me while I spit up in my mouth!
