Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth on Saturday to a healthy 7 lb., 7 oz., baby boy in Palmer, Alaska.

"We think it's wonderful," said Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath, who confirmed the news. "The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."

The baby's name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston and he was born at 5:30 a.m., according to Jones.

Baby Tripp takes his surname from his dad, Levi Johnston, an apprentice electrician and former Wasilla High School hockey player who has been dating Bristol for three years.

ooh this kid is going to get picked on in school. I'm sure he'll have every bone broken from numerous falls (Tripps 🙂 🙂 ) as soon as he hits kindergarten.

Another teenage mother ! Can hardly wait for all of the accolades from the preaching fundamentalists! But, hey, this just shows human failings. Be repentant and born-again, and all is forgiven while we lecture everyone else about how they should behave.

    Better keep baby-cakes away from Daddy's meth-Mom!

    Richard Rodhe,

Please don't bring up morals in this section. It opens up the flood gate for more bashing.

If the Russian Economist is correct, Russia will be in possession of Alaska then, and we won't have to worry about it at all.

What's the deal with the mother-in-law to be? She needs help. By the way, are these unusual names peculiar to Alaska? Small talk aside, Sarah Palin's political loss is a blessing in disguise. She has her hands full with family issues. I wish them well.

The real meaning of the repug "Moral Family Values" mantra comes into the light. It's evangelical code for "Do what I tell you is moral, not what I do".

Just like the repug mantra "All real Americans want to own a business of their own" is code for Union busting...

The perennial question I read over and over is 'How come Sarah Palin' garners so much news.? How come she creates so much of a negative reaction with people? Well it's really quite simple. Nobody can really believe that someone so ignorant can be pushed by the GOP to be some kind of ideal and role model for the average American. The reason is that no-one can fully grasp how such a self serving self rightous failed beauty queen can be news worthy. This only points out how ignorant the average Republican is when personal looks outweigh intelligence. It's like watching the Britney Spears train wreck and still the mystery continues. I pray to God that she never gains any real political power. If she ever does then you can kiss the great USA goodbye because the IQ of the USA will be zero.

I wish her the best of luck. I know Sarah Palin made a fool of herself during the campaign but I'm sure she will be there for her daughter and the baby....Just because her daughter got pregnant doesn't mean she is a bad mom. Some of us should check the skeletons in their closets before commenting on someone else's household.

no no no todd your close but not quite correct. Its ok if you are a white republican or for that matter white with a few dollars and in media's eye... haha let this have been Obama's child having a baby, the first thing to come out of the retarded people of America's mouths would be... O WELL of course Obama's child is a young mother; it figures... where is her mother... why are they not teaching these young children about sex.... yep just because he is president does not make him exempt from the Maury show.. (he is just another 1 of those type of folks.. only difference is he is educated) yea and for anyone to argue that these two situations would not be handled with nothing but the utmost display of racial bias is a retard that most likely 9/10 voted for palin/mccain in the first place.

JM: Oh waaah! How dare people dump on the poor girl who is stressed out. It must be rough to have plenty of mom and dad's money, have a nice house, good prospects for jobs, etc. Must be rough, look at 99.9% of unwed teenage mothers...who feels bad for them?!? Not many.

This is the most ridiculous situation I have ever heard of, how in the heck can a mother of so many children and a grandmother be serious about anything other than her family values, I have no respect for a mother who would subject her children in the public eye for her own political gain. Sarah, should be at home raising her children, so that they will not grow up dysfunctional in society. Obivously there is something wrong with this picture, parading your children around on national television like puppets. And Levi as well should not be subject to such abuse, no wonder they dont now right from wrong, the parents are just as immature as the teenagers, I a so disappointed in Sarah Palin as a women she has no values. And she definelty do not represent me as a woamn. Todd you should be ashamed of yourself as a man, to let Sarah put your family in the spot light as they are. This is not normal. Maybe counseling will help. I am praying for you Sarah and your family that maybe one day your will be able to get your life back on track. May God Bless and Keep this family.
