All the people against stimulus package to help with the unemployment and the spiral down of the economy I'm sure they are all employed and have a lot of savings. If you are against stimulus package I think you people should offer a better solution instead of being against stimulus package. Just saying no is not good enough. For the republican if they block the stimulus package and with the plight of the economym getting worst they might as well kiss their party itself goodbye, because they will have only ten percent of public support.

America's quick and successful return to prosperity is not in the political interests of the Republican Party. Any progress Obama makes in ending the financial crisis, creating jobs, and restoring wealth to Americans will hurt the chances of Republicans regaining control of Washington.
Republicans are going to do everything they can stop stop America from becoming financially healthy again because if America wins, the GOP loses.
In other words, the Republicans aren't just helping the terrorists, the Republicans ARE the terrorists.

IDIOTS---We cann't borrow or spend our way out of debt,we have to lower our overhead and cut spending---this is not rocket science,this is basic 101 finance.The faster we tighten our belt the sooner this will be over and we can move on.The government isn't the answer,it's the problem.Get rid of the unions too. I cann't believe how many people think that the Republicans are at fault ,you actually BELIEVE one man named Bush ran the entire government,congress,senate,the house,the military,all by himself and screwed everything up,and the little follower Democrats stood by,COULDN"T do anything to stop this one guy,he was just to powerful.

NOW lawmakers are getting cold feet about the bailouts!!?? What about when they handed our tax money over to failing banks? I just read that Chase bank has started cutting off people's home equity lines of credit. Pretty cheeky considering they sucked in a large bailout. Give the money to the people, not more businesses. And make the mortgage companies rework all loans with an eye to making they actually payable. For once, think about the consumer instead of the business.

Okay okay....let me get this straight.....

Just a few months ago......the republicans push to get over $700 Billion dollars from the taxpayers after about a week of scaring the crap out of us. Oh, and we never see a penny of all this dough....

Now......our incoming Democratic government, is PROPOSING a well thought out plan that will DIRECTLY affect all of us in a positive way for roughly the same amount of money.....

people you can't spend money we don't have and cut taxes at the sametime. stimulus packages only work in the short term. if they are going to spend money roads, bridges and highways then do it in a different bill not this one. I like the president for 200 billions for something the democratic controlled congress gives a spending of 400 billions dollar which laced with earmarks that the dems put in not repubs. I dont have faith in either party. the economy was fine for the first 6 years and spending was under control to. It seems every 8 years this happens, remember we were in a recession under clinton too. so where is the money going to come from? we and our children will be paying for this later.

The only speed bump will be the obstruction by the Republicans especially in the Senate where a 60 majority is needed to over ride a filibuster. The Republicans will do all they can to prevent Obama and the Democrats to do what is right for the people of this country especially with McConnell as the Senate Minority Leader. People we must stand together and demand that our elected officials work for us this time.

There is no argument between the republicans and the democrats. They actually agree. We need to be very careful in making sure whatever gets spent on a stimulus plan is money well spent.

There is no argument there.
