Bush 41: Now probably a ‘bad time’ for Jeb to run for W.H.

Former President George H. W. Bush says son, Jeb, possesses all the qualities necessary to win the White House.
Former President George H. W. Bush says son, Jeb, possesses all the qualities necessary to win the White House.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – His son hasn’t left the White House yet, but former president George H. W. Bush is already thinking about the next Bush who might one day move in. The elder Bush says his oldest son, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has all the qualities necessary to occupy the Oval Office.

“I’d like to see him run, I’d like to see him be president some day,” the nation’s 41st chief executive declared on “Fox News Sunday.” He is “as qualified and as able as anyone I know in the political scene."

However, the senior Bush acknowledged, “Right now is probably a bad time, because we've got enough Bushes in there.”

In the meantime, the former president suggested his son would make an “outstanding senator” because Jeb “really has a feel for people, the issues in Florida and nationally, and his political days ought not to be over, says his old father.”

The current President Bush agrees, openly saying he would like to see his brother run for the Florida Senate seat, replacing outgoing Republican incumbent Mel Martinez in 2010.

Unless Jeb's cronies can help screw up election results to get him elected senator like his brother for President in 2000, I don't believe he has a chance in American politics. I do believe America has awaken from the nightmare of the past 8 years and wants nothing to do with another Bush....not for senator, president......I don't even think a Bush would get voted in as pta president at this point. Holy cr–, has Bush Sr. gone mad???????????

If Jeb Bush runs for President, I bet you all, there will be enough DUMB Americans that have bad, short term memory or are a very forgiving lot and will vote for Jeb Bush and elect him President. Who wants to bet?
He will make promises to lobbists, he will get very close and chummy with the radical religious groups and feed lies to the uneducated and elderly and WIN! I am afraid there are too many foolish, dumb, "blind leading the blind religious" Americans that will vote for a bad President in 2012. And by saying bad I mean Bush and I will also include Palin in that. Because I do not feel she is capable of being a wise leader of a country. She really went all out to polarize this country, divide everyone, spread hate. Accusing some Americans of being anti-American. We do not need someone like that as President. Obama has brought people together.

Cheer up Jeb if you live to be as old as McCain you can run in 2028. Maybe I will support a Bush by then. What with climate change and all hell could freeze over, which is about when I would vote for anyone from that family.

Many elections ago I told friends and neighbors not to vote on G.43, but had to shut up not to be stoned to ground. I was very vocal on his 1st presidency, but then when he got re-elected, I gave up, like many like me did, thinking: you know what? We deserve it. If people can't see how sucky he is, who can?? What did they base their vote on?? His last name? His beliefs? What beliefs? Does he have a set policy? Does he know what that is? We are amazing.

Jeb may not be as bad, but we cannot afford another country-destroyed. G.43 was amazing at doing e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g wrong, every policy, every decision. You couldn't mess it up as much with closed eyes.

Dear Bush Sr.: Your son, W, who you said "Would do a good job," has proven to be the Worst President Ever. His failures are legendary. His idea of privatizing Social Security, just before the worst economic disaster since the Depression, points to his total lack of understanding of, well, America. We've had enough of his failures; we've had enough of your manure; and we're certainly NOT about to put another Bush in any position of power. Your name is now synonymous with failure. Enjoy your legacy!

Bush 43 was a good president, and better than every liberal president before him like Roosevelt, Kennedy, Carter and Clinton. Bush's problem is that he's too liberal if anything. He needs to be more conservative.

Noah, don't know what state you're living in (maybe confusion) but Bush wasn't a terrible governor...perhaps he didn't provide the freebie entitlements that so many lazy libs are used to getting...but he was definitely a good governor for this state...

Robert Jackson – another blind individual....you're right, Jeb's conservative, and so's the majority of the country...your information is totally incorrect. Beg the Dumb Dems all you want...he'll be a force to reckon with....in 4 yrs of tax, spend and handing entltlements to every thug with grillz on....the country will be ready to oust the babbling obama....you'll see.....We need a strong conservative in office now, to see us through the tough times. Obama's not only weak in leadership, his inexperience is glaring in the face of Gaza, Venezuala, etc....not a good choice to lead the country. But ...you shortsighted, self-indulgent, "gotta have it now," libs managed to create a tidal wave of corruption via ACORN...that pushed him through...haha...boy, is he going to be hating life when the honeymoon's over...21 Jan....can't use the flimsy line of, "...Well, one president at a time..." as he stands on his "Office of the President -Elect," podium.... Brother Barry , it rolls downhill and you're standing at the bottom.

It is a bad time for any Bush to run for office. Any one that would vote for another Bush to go in to the White House, better get their head checked. It will take Obama 4 yrs to get President Bush's mess cleaned up and take 4 yrs to get everything he wanted to get done.

Oh my stars! Haven't we learned by know? George H.W. was a fairly decent president, but George W. has been a total and complete failure! I would't take a chance on his brother, especially after he got so deeply involved in the Shivo case. Think what he would want to do to tell us how to run our lives. Sounds like W2 – The Sequel.

I believe in the Constituion and the Bill of Rights and I love my country – therefore the idea of another Bushie turns my blood cold in fear. There is no good time for another Bush. Look where we are now! Thanks but no thanks!

what a stupid dumb senile thought to have voiced in the medias ear shot, how far did W have to drive this country into recession and illegal wars before Sr. will say oh that was a bad decision

His perspective about this steaming pile that was a W 8 years is worth nothing

The Bush Dynasty is responsible for almost 2/3rds or our country's national debt. Under Bush the father, our national deb increased $1,554,057,922,952.06 and as of mid November 2008 the current Bush has increased our national debt by $4,758,682,784,290.44. Combined these 2 Bush Presidents have created $6,312,740,707,242.50 of our national debt which stands at $10,566,146,196,490.50. The Bush Dynasty has created 60% of our country's national debt. You have to ask yourself if we can afford another Bush???

Geez, not another Bushie in office! NO MORE! We've already had a mediocre Bush I, and a treasonous, incompetent Bush II. The last Bush was definitely the worst. Think of it, people. We've had gone through 8 years of total incompetence. We've had a COWARD of a Vice President (can you say 5 deferements?), who did everything in their power to destroy the constitution, and had badly bungled the Iraq war.
The Bush family is nothing short of being delusional. Give me a break.
