Bush 41: Now probably a ‘bad time’ for Jeb to run for W.H.

Former President George H. W. Bush says son, Jeb, possesses all the qualities necessary to win the White House.
Former President George H. W. Bush says son, Jeb, possesses all the qualities necessary to win the White House.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – His son hasn’t left the White House yet, but former president George H. W. Bush is already thinking about the next Bush who might one day move in. The elder Bush says his oldest son, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has all the qualities necessary to occupy the Oval Office.

“I’d like to see him run, I’d like to see him be president some day,” the nation’s 41st chief executive declared on “Fox News Sunday.” He is “as qualified and as able as anyone I know in the political scene."

However, the senior Bush acknowledged, “Right now is probably a bad time, because we've got enough Bushes in there.”

In the meantime, the former president suggested his son would make an “outstanding senator” because Jeb “really has a feel for people, the issues in Florida and nationally, and his political days ought not to be over, says his old father.”

The current President Bush agrees, openly saying he would like to see his brother run for the Florida Senate seat, replacing outgoing Republican incumbent Mel Martinez in 2010.

Like we need another Bush, four years of the scars from the previous 2 Bushes is bad enough.

Jeb was a good Gov., and he would be a good Senator. He will be a strong canadate for President, no matter how big a mess his young brother made of this nation. He is nothing like his little brother.

Jeb was always the one 41 wanted to run as Pres. He was never for Dub running... Dub was not well suited to be pres... Cheney ran him into the gound. Middle America elected him because he could say, "All the good folk of this country." What they didn't understand was he was saying, "I'm gonn'a shaft all the good folk of this country."

He can't run. Because if he does, he is going to have to throw his brother under the bus. The only way he could compete is to say that he wouldn't make any of the numerous mistakes his brother made.

That was the funniest headline I've read in a long time. Just when you think you can't laugh again, a Bush opens their mouth.

    Can't wait until the 20th...

That's true. Jeb is as qualified as anyone George Senior knows. George Senior just has to get out more.

Alot of prople are wondering, "What kind of fool is GWB? I think he answer is a goldplated one."

He has singly handedly screwed up just about everything he has touched. He started a unecessary war in Iraq and ruined the economy.

Trying the same sort of thing that dramatically failed is not a bright idea. I don't think a Bush will be able to win in my lifetime. He is a little like a horse who comes in tenth when only five horses are running.

My uncle and my cousins all live in Florida. They detested Bush as Govenor. My two cousins are in that upper 1% income bracket and voted for Obama this time around. Jeb has more smarts than George but he really damaged education in Florida ........ No more Bushes in office

No more dynasties...Bush's or Clinton's. It's time to move our country in new directions without the old politics of the past. It's time to elect fresh, new faces and not the same old tired ones.
