WASHINGTON (CNN) – As the nation prepares for the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama, a leading Democrat is not letting up in his criticism of President George W. Bush.

“I really do believe President Bush is the worst president we’ve ever had,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Reid pointed to Bush’s failed plan to privatize the Social Security program and also said Bush “has done his very best to destroy Medicare” in order support his assessment of Bush’s presidency.

Asked by David Gregory if he had any regrets about his persistent criticism of Bush, Reid responded, “I am who I am.”

“I think you just have to call things the way you see them.”

And Daddy Bush wants Jed or is Jeb to be senator or president? Is the man losing his mind! After all the damage little Georgie has done, all we need is another Bush.... to push us completely over the cliff! Does Daddy Bush NOT see the damage his son with HIS type of politics has done to this country.... I guess not! When you are so out of touch with reality, all you see is what you want to see!

They and their Fat Cat buddies are doing just fine... in fact, BETTER than EVER! Why should they NOT want more of the same... they are banking on the fact that as soon as Obama straightens out their mess, they can jump right back in their and destroy the country this time. Excuse me while I barf! :(

I know all you stupid republicans are going to come out with your hate, but I agree with Reid. George Bush and the rest of the republican party couldn't govern themselves out of a paper bag. Is it againt the law to be stupid??

    Hey Harry,
The home for senile idiots called and they're looking for you to return. Maybe after the next election, huh? By the way, what has your democratic majority accomplished? Oh, that's right, NOTHING!!!

Reid is the worse majority leader "we have ever had" . All he does is criticize everyone and hasn't gotten anything done himself.

    Bush lied...people died!

Not only was Bush our worst president ever, he was also the dumbest.

Anyone who goes back and checks the amount of "vacation" time that Bush took will be amazed.

He will always be known as the Great Divider.

He did not stay up or read up on what was going on in the world.

He spent lives, money, and world crediblity like a drunken sailor.

To those of you who say "he kept us protected all these years"....I have another one for you as well. He "kept the skies of Alabama protected from the Vietnamese Air Force" as well....while some of us got shot up or killed.....he ran around like a playboy.

Only a few more days left for that idiot to screw us up.

So that's Reid's opinion and I KNOW President Bush is one of the best presidents we've ever had. So much for opinions, but keep in mind what the country thinks of congress in general. Reid certainly is what he is and I call them the way I see them, also – Reid is a -– well, I shouldn't even think such derogatory things.

Harry Reid is nothing more or less than the lowest form of thingie to ever walk upright on two legs and is not fit to shine President Bushes boots. That slime should not be in the same room with President Bush.

It's sad a senator liek Reid doesn't have the analytical ability to compare Bush to the likes of Harding or Buchanan, but rather lists negative things and draws the conclusion that "really bad" = "worst." Sorry but you can really really suck as a president and still not be the worst. Bush is such a case. Though he screwed up big time, several times, lost America's respect around the world, and did not unite the country, he was nowhere near as bad as Harding who did nothing but drink martinis, or Buchanan who did nothing but suck up to Congress in order to prevent the Civil war from happening in his term.

I can't recall a President worse than George W. Bush. Thankfully his campaign promise to privatize Social Security failed. Everytime I think of his plan that called for investing an individual's Social Security money in the stock market I shudder. In 2008 my 401k shrunk down to a 201k.

Reid isn't saying anything that the whole world doesn't agree with but he did forget to include Cheney. It's amazing our country is still standing after Bush because he certainly has done everything wrong to destroy us. Bush is a good example of how it doesn't take a bomb to destroy us.

I agree with the Senator," you just have to call things the way you see them". Hopefully, under new leadership, we can all climb out of this hole the country is in right now. It's gonna take a little time, but I do be believe we stand a chance of making it.

Bush is worst than the "worst President we've ever had;" he's an international criminal who should be prosecuted and imprisoned. Let's see if Reid has the spine to start the process.
