The Obama transition team has released photos of the Obama girls preparing for school Monday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President-elect Barack Obama doesn't begin his term for another two weeks, but daughters Sasha and Malia began theirs on Monday.

According to the president-elect's transition office, Michelle Obama accompanied the two daughters to the Sidwell Friends School Monday morning - along with an expansive motorcade of U.S. Secret Service agents.

Sasha, 7, is in second grade and attending the elementary school campus in Bethesda, Maryland while Malia, 10, is in fifth grade and attending the Sidwell Friends middle school campus in Washington, DC.

Elizabeth in Texas, Guess how many times our military personnels' children have to change schools? And, generally, they don't have the big bucks to help ease the transition. Top that off with the lack of respect and support they should get from civilians and that will give you even more to pray about. Obama's two girls have it made in the shade; they will be just fine, BUT this is NOT the kind of "CHANGE" he has in store for the rest of the country. Maybe you could pray about that too.

I pray for protection, peace and security over the First Family. This is such a historic moment in history, but as always we know that there are still a lot of haters out there. The Obama’s administration and personnel need to be very careful in terms of what is devulged about the first family’s daily lives. May the Lord our God protect them always.

Richard Rohde, perhaps if Palin would not sell her grandchild's photos to People magazine and stop making statements putting her family in the press, no one would have anything to say.

Still such hateful people on this site, this is news worthy they are our new President's daughters and deserve recognition, we had to endure seeing Palin's kids being dragged around during the campaign, but I suppose that was alright!!

If they believe in their "big government" and that government can and should do everything for everybody, they should have put their kids in public schools. Such hypocrites!

It is interesting to see how mushy nice the liberal press is to anything relating to Obama. Do you think this will stop when he ends up being "another Jimmy Carter?"

If you don't "care" about the article or think "this isn't news!"–then move along to something else.

It's called a human interest story.

Now that they have started school, I hope that the press leaves the kids alone. They have enough to deal with.

The children attending school that is great, but I think you should leave the girls alone, let them try and have a normal life as hard as that will be. Let the ticker be on the President -Elect, or something equally important.

Some people should stick to reading the news they want to read about, in the meantime leave other stories for the rest of us mortals that might want to know about these things! Afeter all that's what democracy is all about!
