What is scarier? Diane Feinstein is chair of the Intellignce Committee or Leon Panetta is CIA director. It is called national security for a reason people. The dems are making a joke of it. It protects our rear ends every day. The next 911 is going to be much worse because it will go beyond planes flying into buildings. If we have someone claiming to harm our country or citizens, I say waterboard them till they squeal and then stick them in front of the firing squad. Human rights goes out the window when we are being threatened.

Veteran in Chattanooga, I am a Veteran in Mass, thank you for your service.

My point is that the same pablum from the same sheep comes out whenever ANYONE be it a Republican or a Democrat questions the chosen one, they get slammed here.

That makes them foolish to agree and genuflect on eveything this guy does or uh, uh, says, therefore they are fools.

And for the sheep blaming Conservatives and the Religous right as the only ones hammering the HORRIBLE Panneta choice, do you watch or listen to anything besides Liberal programs?

He is getting hammered by ALL across the board folks, but don't uh, uh, uh let facts get in the way.

There are many who find fault with anything and everything Obama and the transition team do but there is no doubt found in any circle, even Republican circles as evidenced by their criticisms when wanting to distance themselves, that Bush-Cheney was the absolute worst presidency this country has ever had. Give it a chance as the only way left now is up!

It would really be nice to see all of our representatives put their fragile egos aside and focus on responsibly doing the best job for the country - it really isn't about them but it seems very hard to get them to understand that.

Did anyone else notice that Biden stated he THINKS it was a mistake? How does a person not KNOW whether an act committed by their own selves was deliberate or a mistake? It's amazing! "Mr. Biden, you did not consult this woman. Can you tell us why that is?" "Um, I'm not really sure, I think it was just a mistake." What a joke!

You mean, as opposed to Bush who mangles everything beyond comprehension. Face it, your day is past, we no longer have to listen to chicken little rants from your clueless boy.

By the way you are wrong, I don't go to Obama's web site... I just look at the mess we are in right now to know you and your ilk are a waste of time.

You people elected a complete idiot. We'll see how much you love him when the terrorists start busting your doors down. He could have chosen Mickey Mouse since he voted for him to. The way it's looking we can start calling Hillary President come Jan 20th. I hope Israel finishes the job and protects thier country God only knows what will happen when goofy becomes vice president to hillary.
______________________________________________________
Brenda dear, you create your own experience in life. You must have made some serious mistakes along the way because you sound quite miserable. If you focus on the negative, more negative is what you will perceive. Focus on the positive, and you might be surprised at what comes your way.

Peace and lots of love!

1. This is just the beginning of what will be a series of mistakes this administration makes.

2. Who cares if he doesn't have experience. Obama ran his campaign on the premise that "experience" and "qualified" are dirty words. Should we be surprised that the least experienced individual to ever ascend to the presidency doesn't think it necessary to appoint someone with actual experience in intelligence as CIA Director?

AnaB - meds? Is that best you can offer? Of course, you probably get your meds via an entitlement program that Obama will enhance for you huh? So.....after 6 months, post your address and I'll send you a scrip; after you see the disaster you support in action, you'll need some....

Biden speaks his mind, and his opinion is appreciated.
But I would not consult with Feinstein. She collaborated too eagerly with Bush regime. I'd sure vote to replace her and elect a more progressive/liberal senator.

You can put a monkey, or a baboon or a gorilla in that position and it wouldnt matter. Yes, our security wouldnt matter. In the end, it's how the Prez wants to carry out his spy network. W, Nixon and others have proved that any Prez can override the spy networks and commit their agendas.

I appreciate PE Obama's methodology in selecting Leon Panetta for the post. Mr. Panetta possesses integrity, independence and an analytical mind. Call him a Clintonista if you wish, but he did perform effectively while serving as Chief of Staff in the Clinton Administration.
It appears that Obama's transition team is screening (and vetting) candidates based also on their individual academic achievements and well as political acumen. Panetta may fit better in the SOC position and if PE Obama chooses to reconsider and reselect Panetta for that position, that is cool too.
There also exists the possiblity that Senator Feinstein and Leon Panetta don't quite get along...

The fact that Panetta has no experiance with the CIA is one of the BEST reasons for him to be appointed to this position. The leader of an organization should be an able administrator, an effective communicator, and have a overall picture of what needs to be done. the "nuts and bolts" of the organization are not really the leaders responsibilities. The leader sets the direction and the tone, they give the vision and the "cover" Panetta is well equipped to handle this the fact is Feinstein's nose is out of joint because she was not asked for her opinion on how Obama should run HIS CIA she confuses her job as oversite as one of control. So far Obama has done what he has said he would do, take a wide variety of people, put them into positions they may never have done before but appear well suited to perform in, give them the guidence and direction they need to set the course and follow HIS plan and then let them do their job (not yet accomplished since is is not yet in control of the government). This is change, this is leadership, this is what I voted for.. for those who cannot see past his color, his party, or your own prejudices I am sorry for you take a deep breath and try, for the first time since Clinton was elected to think about our country working together instead of a party gaining power. I laugh at the many democrats here who cry he is not liberal enough or the many republicans who cry that he is too liberal the fact is he was elected NOT because he was a democrat but of because of what he stood for and what he believes in and what WE believe in and I suspect that he will NOT govern as a Democrat, but that Obama will govern as a President of the entire United States, thats who I voted for and so far that is what I am seeing!

Poor Dianne, her feelings are hurt. She has been in the game too long. She is part of the old Washington...the part who got us into all this trouble. If she can't join the Obama team maybe she should hang up her ego. Time for some new fresh faces in Washinton.

I can comment on any site I choose if you have a problem with it you find another site. I'm not asleep I can assure you of that. I just happen to read more than the funny papers. If some of you would have done your homework and put down the drugs you would know obama is a thug. I know you people hate it when you realize you screwed up and it really ticks you off when someone reminds you.

So, conservatives and the religious right thinks Obama has made a "mistake" with this selection.

You all thought it was fine when he used a sharp stick to poke the eyes of gay folks with the selection of Warren.

Seems I recall alot of blather about how we should just "understand" and stop pushing an "agenda" and yor were heralding his wisdom and inclusiveness. So, now you realize that some of his selections will be from the left and not down the middle as you conservatives prefer.

So now join us and take your reserved place at the symbolic campfire singing kumbaya, and as the latest members you get to sing the refrain.

Can you feel the love?

This is what irks me....Obama was chosen as Presdient...Biden VP...all others are 'in service' to them or should be...... now with the issue of change it should be carried out that way. I understand the insult Security Services not being consulted...but really... this is Obama's decision in consult with Biden's only. The buck stops with them.......

If the only problem with appointing Leon Panetta is that no one first genuflected in front of Ms. Feinstein, I would say that's pretty good. Fact is Leon Panetta is a seasoned pro, he's professional and well respected. Leon Panetta disagrees with warrantless wire tapping, he also disagrees with torture, and has no problem with aggressively upholding the United States Constitution and our rights. Given the last 8 years of trampling our Constitution, I want a man like Panetta who is staunch about protections. If the only problem is Ms. Feinstein wasn't first consulted, that's miniscule.

I don't understand those people that delight at even the hint of a misstep by Obama and his staff and smugly shout "I told you so."

Where do you find the energy? Assuming you applied the same standards to the Bush adminstration that you are applying to this new one, you must be exhausted from all of the self-righteous posturing.

Feinstein seemed to have been having a bad hair day when she reacted so negatively to the nomination. Now, she seems to have settled down and is in a conciliatory frame of mind. What is she anyway, some sort of intelligence diva?

Biden is doing damage control. Feinstein should have been given some idea of the Panetta nomination prior to the news getting out. It 's just smart politics. It is also refreshing to see an administration admit there might have been a better way to handle the situation. I haven't heard anything close to that in something like eight years .
