I say let the process play out. There's nothing wrong with this going to the courts. That's what the courts are for.....to mediate and decide disputes. I'm a democrat, but more importantly, I'd like to know that the person THE PEOPLE elected is eventually seated, democrat or republican. If it takes some time, so be it. It will be resolved eventually and we can all rest assured that the issue has been examined to ensure the one elected becomes senator. With such a close election, I'd be more suspect if the results were not disputed and closely examined.

Norm Coleman is trying to mimic Bush in Florida in 2000, but he will waste his owners money by going to court, he lost and being typical republican of the last 16 years, they think they are here to run the world and do not enough brains to run a childs toy.

FIRST OF ALL- The officials including the secretary of state and the canvassing board have done and upstanding job of carrying out the recount. To blame the secretary of state is slanderous and pathetic.

A court ruling dictated that previously uncounted absentee ballots could be included in the recount if AND ONLY IF both candidates (or there spokespersons) and the canvasing board agreed that the ballot in question was legitimate and ought to be counted. Each party agreed to these stipulations and the process proceeded as such. THUS Coleman himself has approved (HAD TO APPROVE) all of the additional ballots to be counted . To cry "ERROR" now is a ridiculous attempt to insinuate wrong doing now that he knows his time is up.

Read the articles carefully. They include this information. There was no slanting and my state followed the legal guidelines for this automatic recount with great care.

Of course.... and what else would we expect! Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty is not going to give up anymore than Coleman.... by hook or crook, these republicans will do everything in their power to steal an election. As someone said so well last night... it was done the way you wanted it, Coleman.... now you want something else since you did not win? Seriously......

The Republicans have been drunk with power and out of control for 8 years….it's time to take whip and chair and drive them back into their caves! :) Seriously... I love that quote... from me.... *LOL*

Even among Republicans, there is a growing feeling that Coleman will eventually have to concede. Even if there is a trial and the verdict is challenged, this case will be back to the Minnesota Supreme Court, The majority of the members including the State Supreme Court Justice Eric Magnuson (who is on the Canvassing Board) were appointed by the Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty. Evetuallym the people of Minnesota will get ired of this enough that someone will pack it in and it will Coleman. Pawlenty will swallow hard and sign the certificate. Senator elect Al Franken will be sworn in and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) Coleman said that the people of Minnesoat will decide this not Senate Majoirty Leader Harry reid (D-NV). Will Coleman say the same to Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) to keep his nose out of it too? I doubt it!

How come it was OK for the People to keep asking for a recount in FL in 2000 but not in MN in 2008. This is such a bad example of a double standard for the Dems.

jjd: Have you been paying attention to this thing? This recount was run on the up and up, complete with attorneys, the courts and election officials. It's probably the most accurate count in any state ever. There were a lot of votes disgarded originally that shouldn't have been. Having seen that done here in GA, guess which areas get rejected?

jjd: Have you been paying attention to this thing? This recount was run on the up and up, complete with attorneys, the courts and election officials. It's probably the most accurate count in any state ever. There were a lot of votes disgarded originally that shouldn't have been. Having seen that done here in GA, guess which areas get rejected?

Normie's a liar, cheat, flip-flopper, and Republican lapdog. He's been an embarrassment to our state. Now, he gets to show the world how pathetic his lawsuit is after every election board has legitimately gone over the ballots. The colossal failures of the Republicans, from the war to our economic collapse, entangles Coleman, who voted for every one of these debacles. Good Riddance!

What a bunch of spoilers. Republicans just can't give it up gracefully. Now the taxpayers will probably have to foot the bill for a long, drawn-out court fight because this one just can't accept that he's a loser.

From a Minnesotan, here's a plea to the U.S. Senate (who's probably going to end up settling this)...Please declare the seat vacant and don't allow either of these two clowns to run in the special election. We want somebody who will represent Minnesota Nice in Washington.

(sadly, I'm realistic enough to know that it isn't going to work like this)

Its been my experience that if all the votes are counted they will favor a Democrat. Democrats want EVERYONE to vote and the Republicans want to supress the vote. This has been since before all our civil rights legislation was passed with LBJ.

So, all you Red State freaks out there.... lets count 'em all!!!

That way Franken will go from 225 to over 1000 maybe. Cuz its all absentee votes that first Coleman didn't want counted and now wants to count all of them.

Wow- Franken was able to steal the election? With the cooperation of the Supreme Court? And with a recount system that was so transparent that anybody could see the actual ballots being counted on TV?

And if there were still extra votes for FRANKEN, then how did those cause HIM to steal the election??

Do your homework or drop the accusations, dude.

I am probably one of the few candidates in Minnesota who has actually had a recount for an election. I ended up losing by about a half a dozen votes. What I learned is that elections are an imperfect process. Machines make mistakes because people make mistakes. Rules help us, but not always. Many of the problems have been cited here today, yet Minnesota has a strong tradition of election excellence. During my recount I gained significant votes, but not enough to win. There were improper procedures and I could have challenged them, but in the end I didn't want to take my community throudown that harrowing and distractdful road. I conceded before the full recount was even finished. I think this is something Senator Coleman needs to learn. Yes, we want a fighter, but we also want a gracious politician who knows when to place country or state before self. In my humble opinion and experience, it is time for Senator Coleman to concede. Please Senator Coleman, there are millions of people in this country who are losing their jobs, starving and lacking proper medical attention. We need to get on with fixing this country, not sitting in court discussing a system we already know to be imperfect. It was imperfect before the race and you knew it and it is imperfect today. Please concede for not just the well being of Minnesota, but for the well being of the entire country.

Minnesota, wouldn't it have been cheaper and faster to do a complete re-vote. Rather than milk this re-count for 2 months? This could have been done like American idol, over in one day. Each voter over 18 enters their SSN and votes by phone, DONE!!! We can send men to the moon land robots on Mars but every 4 yrs we re-invent the wheel to cast one vote, pathetic.
