If Sara Palin were overweight and ugly ,like most of you women that trash her, she would then be your sister, sister! Correct?? We know which of you would stop a train just by the way you mock her! Try getting a face lift and stop stuffing your faces with donuts and you may start looking just as HOT!!

Folks - the country faces a dire situation and we're arguing over who would or should be president? Or wondering about 2012??? At this moment in time, I don't think any president would be able to just change the situation we face over night. However, Obama has confidence and has surrounded himself with people, both Republican and Democrat, that will ultimately wok together to help improve the country's economic crisis. If you have a job, please be grateful that you do have a job. I am one of millions that has been laid off and I face great uncertainty about how to provide for my family while so many jobs are not available. I trust that Obama will be able to work tirelessly to do everything he can and be as good a president as possible for everyone.

It is the first responsibility of every citizen to QUESTION AUTHORITY.
- Benjamin Franklin

This is not hate or racism - it is called American Democracy. We need to keep leaders honest. I hope Obama will do well in office, but we cannot just close our eyes or let them glaze over.

He will need all of us watching him and not setting wild divine or herculean expectations. He is a man and I hope a good one.

Isn't funny how all these conservatives insisted we blindly accept all of Bush's actions simply because he was the President and we should support him? These same people are now expressing nothing but hatred, disdain and vitriol for his successor. There is a word for that: "hypocrite". "Sore loser" also fits.

It's amazing how some of these people are actually waiting for a terrorist attack. I was in a diner the other day and the guy in the booth behind me was actually hoping for a terrorist attack on an American city because that was the only way to "wake America up". Sick.

And sorry folks, but Sarah Palin doesn't have a chance in 2012. She may loved by the rabid Republican base, but there aren't enough of you. Polls show that a clear majority of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of her.

I never understand why conservatives hate Obama so much. He is much more middle of the road than most. Also stop saying Palin will win 2012, she was the biggest reason for McCain losing, conservatives should be mad at her not supporting her.

@WELCOME TO THE OBAMA SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
---------------------------------------
Six months ago you said that Obama would never be elected president.

Now that he is, you say that everything he does will fail. And he hasn't even been sworn in yet.

Hate has a way of affecting one's ability to reason.

Two things are for sure. Obama is not the Messiah, and you sure as hell are no prophet. So far, you're batting 1000.

Dear Liz,

Very well said and spot on! After reading these posts for a few days I began to notice a pattern of the same people with the same vile responses no matter the topic of the news story. This really isn't a place for constructive and respectful dialog. Its just a format for people to make divisive, hate filled statements with no consequences or responsibility.

The egregious ignorance displayed by Jackie and William and others who think that moron Sarah Palin should be ... or will have the chance ... to be President in 2012 or any other year is just staggering. Well, come to think of it ... I guess they're as smart as Palin....

And please "Welcome to the Obama Show" and others like you ... get a life, get a grip, get an education. You people are just sad ... and fortunately in the minority.

Gov. Palin lacks the understanding required to handle complex tipics and manage complex systems. That is why Obama won and McCain lost.

The Republican Paarty will be a minority party for two generations before it has a chance to broaden in appeal to the public. The current generation is out of sync with America and its place in the new world.

Yes the republicans are very upset that there canidate Mccain and his Pretty VP didnt not make it. Thank god the majority of the American People seen what she did to the republican party. Having her on the ticket brought the republican party down on its knees. They better get some good canidates for 2012 cause Sarah will be among them. Honestly do you really want her in the white house. The republican party better wake up and Support the President Elect. Cause it will be rememberd in 2012 how they tried to stop everything that he is working for.

They better get some good canidates for 2012 cause Sarah will be among them. Honestly do you really want her in the white house. The republican party better wake up and Support the President Elect. Cause it will be rememberd in 2012 how they tried to stop everything that he is working for.

Indiana voter here.

Voted Obama.

Want to know why?

Can't stand Palin.
Would like to have at least one Conservative(a real one) run for office.

I've had enough of the latest greatest version of Conservatism.

Get rid of the thumpers and come back to your roots.

To all you Obama haters out there: Take a chill pill. Finally there is someone in the White House is intelligent and articulate at the same time. This nation's economy has been on the verge of this economic mess since Regan took office in 1981. Obama just spelled it out for you.

Thanks for picking out my spelling error. An honest mistake that anyone can make.

And if you really think my state describes ONLY Democrats than you should look up the definition of the word that you corrected my spelling on.

We keep reading this "no terror attacks in 7 years" mantra from the 1 in 4 people who somehow still believe in George Bush...

They forget that he's been in office for 8 years...and that the worst attack in our history came on his administration's watch. Had he, had anyone in his cadre of warmongering sychophants simply taken the August threat memo even remotely seriously...this might be a completely different nation today.

But don't worry.

We'll begin the process of trying to regain all we've lost on the 20th.

Once again you've said something completely ignorant. I don't know what planet you've been living on, but it was your republican president that this economic turmoil started under. Him and his buddy stated the same thing..."the fundamentals of our economy are strong." When home foreclosures start happening in 2004 and continued escalating, that should have been a wake up call for Bush and the rest of his GOP cronies. You should share a drink of haterade along with the rest of the right wing "reformers."

Scott L:

"Russia and China are primed to take over as world powers"

Russia and China are both world powers, and have been for decades. Perhaps you haven't noticed? Even with the fall of Communism in Russia, they were still a world power, if much reduced.

"Our economy is crumbling under Democratic control….only took 2 years."

So you think our economy is so fragile that it took 1 year (remember, the Democrats didn't get to control Congress until being sworn in in Jan, 2007, and the recession officially started in Dec 2007) to fall apart?

You've got a LOT to learn about economics, then ...

You should just accept that there's a whole lot of blame to go around for both parties, stop foaming at the mouth, and instead try and do something to help, instead of just whining on a web site ...

I find many of the comments on here sad when viewed in the context that they are being posted on the site of one of the Western world's largest news organization. In many cases it would appear that their grasp of facts even as simple as where Obama was born are out of touch reality. What hope is there that such people can even begin to understand the facts behind the economic and financial meltdown and world events.

The other observation is that so many Americans (not the majority of either Democrats or Republicans) are hoping Obama will fail. Sad commentary on the state of politics and its citizenry.

"Vice President Dick Cheney is responsible for presiding over the session,"

Once again, Gov Palin is proved to be correct in the duties of the VP (along with swearing in the Senate earlier this week, and accepting Obama's resignation letter from the Senate -- both done by VP Cheney as the President of the Senate).

One again VP-elect Biden is proved wrong in his understanding of the duties of the VP. Of course, it's easy for simpletons to follow simpletons, even when the facts prove otherwise. Now we're stuck with what we have, and can only "hope" that things will turn out OK. After all, that's all that Obama promised his supporters, "hope and change."

To William to predicts a Palin win in 2012...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it will never happen. I know people that have never voted in their lives, but that will register to vote against her should she grace the GOP ticket.

The vast majority of America cannot stomach that woman and she just turns more and more people off as they see the pathetic redneck drama that is her life unfold before them.

The ignorance and total lack of knowledge of some posters about other democracies and countries is overwhelming. Actually the American democratic structure is cumbersome, structured for conditions in the past and most often in gridlock.

Other democracies do not appoint elected officials, their leaders are part of their parliament and must attend and answer questions when parliament is in session and cabinet members are actually elected. Leaders can be "impeached" by a simple non confidence vote; Blago would have been gone and a new election called in days.

There are no earmarks, presdential vetoes and far less corruption in voting procedures. Most are able to run an election in eight weeks. We need to be proud of our country but we need to also appreciate the pride and confidence other nations have in theirs.

wait until Pandoras box is opened..Obama will fall like a wet dishrag..

Way to go CNN for all the slanted coverage on the person. C N N should reexamine the way the reporters presented the news during this election period....John King should be fired,,,, not given a job for his bad preformance covering this person they call Obama.

Are there no ground rules when and election is ongoing.. C N N the most trusted name in news what a bunch of crap. at least that is what C N N wants everybody to think....

The election reproters showed the other side and C N N is the most untrustworthy news reporting station out there

to VWade...

I've never seen a group of people so willing to condemn someone based upon nothing other than scurrilous lies and hyperbole.

Oh wait, I have... but you no longer matter.

All the negativity posted here against President Elect Obama,
by certain individuals, has nothing better to do or say. You are all fill with hate, and have no love in your heart. I do wonder, if any of you were to get sick, and the only doctor around was a black doctor, if you would rather kick the bucket, than have a black doctor safe the rotten life which you so have?

I DO NOT THINK SO!!!!

Then again, you life is worth nothing. You are all so fill with hate, that you do not even realize that you as a nation, are so corrupt, you do not seem to see what is taking place right in front of your own eyes.

Destructions after destructions, individuals out of job ,homes being taken away, innocent children being abused, and the list go on and on.

12 Days, 21 hours,45 minutes and a wake up. That is how long you and your OUT GOING Cabinet have left in office, President Bush; plenty of time to put the final screw ups into play, and that is how long WE, THE PEOPLE, have until PE Obama and his Cabinet can come on in and fix EVERY LAST ONE OF YOUR FUBARS!!

Thanks for the nightmares.

Bring it! I can't wait for PE to take office... because if I see the former President GWB one more time on TV, I will lose another pair of milano blahnik shoes and will have to get a new TV. I can't afford a new pair of shoes these days.

Obama's first order of business should be to force all republicans to have the word "STUPID" stamped on their foreheads. What a bunch of Idiots.
